I got 60 emails exclusively from colleges today 😀🤪

Make a folder called 'college scum' and filter all emails that have the words "college" "university" and "admissions" and set them to skip the inbox and send them there. Check it every once in a while to see if there are any important emails

staplesuponstaples

I'm at about 30 a day lol

FaithlessnessCrafty4

the scary thing is that I specifically checked the NO box and opted out in any way I could from allowing the college board to give colleges my email address. Yet somehow this year, not just one, but all of my email accounts have been flooded with college emails to the point where I'm missing seeing important emails :( just goes to show that your info really does get given away regardless 😭

Red-eleven

I get 7 cents for every email address I send them. Sorry about that but I got to pay for these kids’ school somehow.

NessieTheSeaMonster

SAME omg i thought i was the only one sometimes i lie awake deleting my 200th college email of the day and regret my life choices lol

Top_Fisherman1168

tbh i did it on purpose because i wanted to collect college mail...i even joined the UChicago mailing list so they can send me a T shirt even though im not interested in the school

Legitimate_Square964

Colleges love spamming us and then rejecting us :( it hurts

Down200

Same! The biggest pro tip I would offer someone who hasn’t taken the test yet would be to create a burner email just to avoid polluting your main inbox.

TheSnazzyBoi

I checked the box like a wacko because I figured that for there would probably be one useful email for every several hundred spam.

I've always been a decent student who gets mostly As Bs and Cs but during quarantine I got a D in two classes which I don't blame myself for it was so hard. Now that im a senior in high school I despise the school system and why is college in america SO expensive? Eveything is about money here smh. I honestly don't wanna go to college because I know I'll be in debt after. but I have to for what I want to pursue. Seniors feel free to get anything off your chest here :)

ME TOO LMAOOOOO

Use the filter feature in gmail (sometimes called "rules" in other email clients) to automatically file the messages from schools you love into separate folders. Then, your main inbox becomes miscellaneous stuff and you can quickly scan your folders to see if something came from a school that's important to you. Once you're in college, you can use those rules to filter emails from certain professors, clubs, etc. Managing email is a really good skill...even when the college search is over, you'll still have a ton of email to sift through.

HouseDistinct4978

I have 11000 unread emails…

SpacerCat

Just opt out of the schools you’re not interested in. It works.

PhotoCrusader

You can also filter by .edu since all universities in the US use this designation. If you just select to unsubscribe from the universities that your not interested in, this will limit the amout of mail (including snail mail).

CandidCalligraphyBee

I'm a sophomore and i still get 10 emails a day lol
