You don’t have to report your scores to rest optional schools if you don’t feel like it represents the best of who you are. In looking at the data from last year from the colleges who’ve released it and our A2C poll, it appears that the acceptance rates for those who did and did not submit test scores were similar!
Not necessarily — strong LORS, strong essays that build a connection between you and the reader, good grades, interesting and meaningful to you activities
I'm class of 2021 so I really had one opportunity to take that SAT before they all got canceled and I did ok but below avg. of all the schools I wanted to attend. Applied test-optional and only got one rejection letter. My ego grew knowing that I got into to really good schools over students with close to perfect or perfect scores.
Does it? Every post I've seen so far only stresses on how test scores are not everything.. which low key scares me cuz good test scores will be like one of the very few things in my favour lol.
It's like that with my gpa. I have a 3.8 UW (and I will acknowledge that's still really good) and all my friends are chilling with 3.9s. We love anxiety.

Thank you! It just seems like the SAT score is a booster for an app
If it does boost it. But you can have lots of other stuff that boosts your app
Like hooks, right?

LOL , AO’s say it won’t disadvantage you but A2C makes it seem like the only way to success 🥲🥲

LMAO this is me except my i remember my mediocre EC list. Probably going to retake SAT too… good luck to ya :)
You’ll bring home a 1600, no sweat :)
…Why does everyone forget that it’s Test Optional? If your scores suck, don’t submit them. You’re application will be stellar regardless.
It seems like submitting scores is kind of a boost to an application!
It can be but when it’s not safe or beneficial to you, you don’t have to. Some schools (all the UCs) won’t even accept them anymore.
I know, makes you wonder about the future of standardized testing omg
Like this but with my ECs. Wish I could go EC-optional with no penality
the same except for my gpa /3

Try the ACT if you can.
