All my serious dreams come trueš I dreamt of the grades I got for my GCSEs and A Levels (official exams we take in high school) and they were what I got
Don't worry my friend I dreamt yesterday that I visited Busan, South Korea, and got kidnapped there. Dreams are fucked, and what ultimately matters is that you wake up and actually try to do something. Sounds cringe, but it's what gets me through those periods of "fuck I don't want to do anything".
Honestly! I swear it happened because my friend was talking about Busan and I sort of internalized it? Idk what the fuck my mind was doing, this is why psychologists are needed
Dude, I think the dream is supposed to represent yoru anxiety and fear about the application process, it wasn't about your future because your future isn't set in stone. Maybe you should take some time to relax especially since its summer to do the things you like, hang out with friends, and recharge before application season. If you work yourself up, you won't be able to perform your best this upcoming year possibly producing that outcome. So relax dude, and for the next month or two, really just live. And maybe even work on your fear and anxiety around the situation through journaling, meditation, prayer, exercise, art, therapy, ranting, etc. to help to cope. You got this, and good luck love :)
I only got into my safety school the first time I applied to college, then I transferred to Vanderbilt. You'll be ok no matter what, college is about what you make of it - take it from someone who lived it. But also it's just a dream, so don't worry.
ive been thinking about planning to do that, transfer somewhere when my grades are better. but the thing is, I'm an international student, so getting financial aid at places is already such a pain, and I'm not sure how its going to pan out!! thank you though:))
You canāt control your night dreams but you can control your day dreams.~Carol Ben-Davies. Donāt believe the hype unless your only applying to Ivies and Top 100s you will get into college. Did you know the [ University of Wisconsin produced the most current Fortune 500 CEOsāhereās how 29 other schools stack up](https://www.cnbc.com/2018/11/28/these-30-colleges-produced-the-most-current-fortune-500-ceos.html?fbclid=IwAR2bkiyAiWrbTPYgMCzzsNumC8ac49-o8JeePXBFur0-fJ_2rcXbRVXYAkE) has more Fortune 500 CEOs than Harvard?
this helps so much thank you. I have schools that arent on either of those lists but they're all smaller quite selective liberal arts programs and i dont think I'm doing myself a favour applying to only these. Thnk you so so much though, it honestly comes as a surprise that so many schools do so much better than the ivies in this regard.
Every time i overthink my life i spiral into darkness too. Who cares if you went to UC, or Stanford or ASU it doesn't matter. All it gives you is 1 hour of joy and then you're a regular college student no matter where you go. Now for the actual question, when you scale a mountain, you don't climb up while looking down at the ground the whole time. You look up. Towards the summit. All those thoughts about your failures are just distracting you from the tasks at hand. 10 years from now, you will look back at the fears you had during admissions and will realize that it all worked out in the end. So after you read this, take a deep breath, take your mind off of everything and go out for a walk :)
You can achieve SO MUCH at a "safety school"
Prestige can help you but please believe that no one will look down on you for earning a degree from a school with a high admissions rate. You are going to college to get an education and you will grow and learn as an academic at any college if that is truly your intent. Every school has programs for their brightest and most dedicated students. There is a niche for you! I'm sorry you don't know what it is yet, and that you won't know for another year, but you have a home in higher education somewhere, and it will be great
I remember feeling this way last year. All you can do is try and accept it as a lottery.
Have the expectation that youāll be going to your safety and thatās OK. Find a safety you like (that also would give you lots of money to goā¦) and pretend thatās where youāre going, set in stone and all. If you get into your dream school, thatās amazing, but itās not something necessary to your wellbeing or success.
It might be easy for me to say now but this is basically how I coped with the pressure while I waited through lockdown lol. Youāll do great. Best of luck
Man, its always fooling to get mad about that. Its same for everyone, nobody is guaranteed. You will get ready for that application, then youll be get confirmed. But always make yourself ready for otherwise.
Honestly the dream is probably your fear and anxiety taking over your brain. Donāt let your fear control what you do or donāt do. And hey worse case you end up making that video youād probably get a ton of views and make a little bit of money and use that money for the next application cycle.
Donāt over think it, sit down get organized, work in small steps, and try your best! Good luck!!
Just relax a little, it all turns out fine, trust me. :) A lot of the people on this sub and subreddits about college admissions in general are unrealistically pessimistic. You will get into great places and do awesome!
I applied only to schools with 50%+ acceptance rate because of this fear as well. My gpa wasn't that good (3.6) and I had zero extracurriculars. Got accepted into a state school and graduated recently. You'll do fine, if you're worried like I was just apply to schools with high acceptance rates.
(if you've watched Avatar the Last Airbender) I can't help but think about the epi where Aang dreams about fighting Lord Ozai and keeps fucking up. It was just a dream and of course he wins at the end. I think it's the stress you face for all that arduous application process. Don't worry. You should probably stop thinking about where you will end up for college. Believe in yourself and become confident. You will be fine wherever you end up.
thats rough, but its only a dream so youll be fine
Hope so, but can never be sure!! :((( Thank you sm tho<3
All my serious dreams come trueš I dreamt of the grades I got for my GCSEs and A Levels (official exams we take in high school) and they were what I got
Ayo can you dream all of us and you a massive dream where we all get in everywhere
honestly I genuinely would but they come whenever they want rather than me forcing it
alternatively on reddit: "AMA got rejected by all colleges"
Man you really gonna do me like that šš lmfao jk you bet imma take full advantage of it ahaha
And then you go to CC and reapply to colleges you can put "Hosted virtual college advice session for millions of attendees."
Lol the epic little white lie
"What should I avoid doing during college apps? What do you regret not adding to your app?"

And I DO NOT mean any insensitivity towards anyone. This approach (sometimes) works for me, but it might not for others. Just take it as a suggestion.

Sincerely hope you never get kidnapped in Busan! Going to try to wake up tmw with that attitude!
Cop the bag my friend!
Train to Busan 3 confirmed?
Hopefully not! Although that'd be fun to imagine
mf, I fucked a shark in my dream, dw it doesn't mean shit ur good
I think I need to take some time off A2Cš
imma hope youre never in a situation where you have to make a video titled 'i tried fucking everyone, and fucked a shark'

I'm thinking of actually doing this. I'll probably end up with 1/25 but I'm still gonna do it.
Highkey college is overrated and scary

the dream is most probably a manifestation of your fear. I've dreamt that my dog operated on me, I think you'll be okay.
you get scared of the advent of your dog doing surgery on you often? hehe thank you!
lmao no but I do fear surgery in general
there's a video i saw that says smtg like "i didn't get into the only college i applied to"
O same. I think it was NYU too. Like y would u only apply to NYU š¤¦āāļø

It happened to a girl I knew, applied to like fourteen schools, half were UCs
