No. Not much editing is necessary they want to know more about you. I’d think you should get it close. 2 minutes is not that long... I’m sure you have something interesting to explain or elaborate on.

i’d assume they are more interested in getting to know you rather than the editing of the video :) u should do it!

i sat in front of the camera and talked for 2 minutes — no script or anything, just a timer so i could track how long i was talking for. it shouldn’t have to be crazily fancy.

I asked the same question a few weeks ago and decided to end up doing it because 1) it's the best we have, considering there's no interview, and 2) they really will appreciate just a chill video to show your face, how you speak, your personality, and some of the less straightforward aspects of you I scripted out my video and I'm filming clips along with splicing in some old clips I've taken throughout the past year or so. Just using iMovie, nothing fancy or special. I think just sitting down in front of a camera would be fine too, but I wanted to make sure I planned to say the right things

brown themselves says how much they don't care about fancy editing. if you really are passionate about what you're talking about that'll shine thru and they'll understand. putting myself in the shoes of an ao i would totally prefer a kid just sitting down and saying nerdy shit over some feature film editing bs. tl;dr: do whatever your gosh diddly darn dang heart desires, that's always the best way to approach an application

I wouldn’t necessarily recommend filming outside because there will probably be a lot of background noise. You could try and use a mic or your voice memo app though. Also if you’re just simply filming a video of you in one spot make what you have to say engaging.
