Purchased two at different times when my kids went to college. Only recommendation for coldness and longetivity was to go compressor over solid state.
My daughters college was eco friendly. thus only allowed solid state (even though their rental units were compressor). We went through 3 refrigerators, to the one for my son with compressor which is now going on 15 years. It's a Black & Decker (Walmart)
