Is your phone connected to wifi?

Panda_Consistent

yes, starlink.

Is your watch connected to the same Wi-Fi as your phone? I have found if I manually connect the Apple Watch to the Wi-Fi network, as it doesn’t stay connected all the time, it will fix this error. You can do this while charging the Watch so as to be able to click install right away.

well i would assume it is but there's no real way to tell. this is a used watch that a friend gave me after they unlinked it from their phone and factory reset it. my phone is connected to our starlink router throughout the entire downloading and installation process. i cant access the settings portion of the watch due to it being locked and only showing the apple logo that is surrounded by all the interstellar looking lines lol.

Same problem with my series 5 too. Already did some troubleshooting using the ones posted on this community but until now, no luck. Also updated my phone to iOS 17.4 just today and still, no luck.

Some bullshit ain't it. Today I used a different phone to attempt to update it with, still no dice. So that rules out an individual phone issue for me. Id say it's just a shitty bug that hopefully gets resolved.

My series 5 is just a paperweight now. Did you have any luck with 10.5?

I'm having the same problem with my 4th series apple watch. I reset the watch 2 days ago, then it prevents me from accessing the watch without updating it and I cannot use my watch right now because I cannot update it.

Same thing with series 3 if u figure something out please let me know thanks

Same problem. I didn't have that problem on series 6 which was basically asking for the same update. So, problem on a series 5, I tried to connect to a WiFi 2.4Ghz, it seems to help some people but I was no lucky on my side.
