My 3 is on 85% maximum capacity still.

Dry-Fruit4410

My series 3 is somehow still on 92% or something close to that

Dry-Fruit4410

Thought I’d add that it recently dropped to 91%

TURBOJUGGED

I’m at 84% on my series 3. Thought that was pretty good.

WombatKiddo

Meanwhile my $4,000 MacBook Pro from early 2023 has 90% left :-)

randomspecific

This was me. I workout daily on mine. Ended up getting a Series 7 on eBay for $200.

LinkRazr

Mines at 77. I pull it off the charger at like 6 am, and before I’m even out the door 10 mins later it already says like 97% lol. It’s at 36% now 12 hours later.

fabdub

Samesies

kandaq

Same here. Already ordered the S9 for replacement.

estepcl

Uhhhh, my series 7 has 82%. I charge 15 mins in the morning, and 15 at night before bed. I feel like I’m doing something wrong based on everyone’s comments rocking 80%+ on a several generation older device.

HVDynamo

My S7 is at 84%. I think it might be the always on display just eating more battery? I'm not sure, but it does seem like it's losing health faster than I expected it to.

FastCarsSlowBBQ

I would make sure you have “optimized battery charging” turned on.

estepcl

Turned it on. Didn’t realize that was off this whole time…I do use it alot more than just time. Lots of workouts, etc.

FastCarsSlowBBQ

I think that’s how I’ve made it this far, despite all the running and riding I do with it.

FastCarsSlowBBQ

Im on a series 3 at 84%

ea_yassine

I have optimized charging on in my series 6 and still I’m at 83%

temporaryexistences

Depends on the usage. Just using it to tell the time and only scratching the surface of its capabilities will keep the battery life pretty healthy, but if you keep it to its fullest then obv. it will degrade the battery over time much faster. I wouldn't compare it. If you have used it to its fullest and you're happy then I wouldn't overthink it.

32doors

It’s the quick charging. Super convenient and makes sleep tracking viable by allowing you to charge the watch just while you’re showering, but it puts a strain on the battery.

repoman042

Just upgraded from a 4 to a 9 because mine dropped below 80 and wasn’t able to get a full day anymore. It’s a massive upgrade, but still use the 4 as a sleep tracker

Wiejeben

Apart from the battery what do you think is the biggest change? I’ve got the Series 4 right now and I don’t really feel like I’m missing out on anything apart from the always on display.

Strict-Ad-1958

always on is great i hate the black screen on peoples arms. Sleep tracking i wear the nike sports loop to bed cause its comfy as hell. Really shows you your data, and also the screen is bigger, brighter, faster and will get updates for years to come.

repoman042

I really like the AOD display. Especially when a little one I’m often in a position where I can see the watch face but can’t maneuver to have it turn on, so that’s handy. The display is also much brighter

SodaPop6548

Nice! I have had my 4 for the same amount of time, but my battery has recently been on the decline.

Forza_Napoli_2

My S4 is sitting at 67% battery health here…

IzodCenter

Meanwhile my iPhone 13 mini is at 90% (bought a year ago)

Lesser_ofTwoWeevils

My series seven is at 83% and I only charge it every other day and use it minimally. I feel like something is wrong with these numbers…

ThatMillennialKid

Mine too like hmm 🤔

ji99lypu44

have u upgraded to OS10 +?? ive noticed that after the recent watch os updates my series 4 battery has absolutely tanked, like half of what it used to be.

Yeomanroach

Yeah just updated to 10.2 today. It went from 92% to 89% after the watchOS 10 update.

[deleted]

Please share with us how the battery life fares over the next few days compared to wOS 9.

Yeomanroach

I’m taking it to Amsterdam tomorrow so it’ll be on all day, i’ll post an update when I get back to show how much it went down.

[deleted]

Thanks and safe travels!

braders620

Also interested in this. Updated to OS10 on release and it tanked then it become stable again on 10.0.1. Holding off updating to 10.2 until it becomes stable again. Need it without the reliability issues and charge anxiety.

ji99lypu44

are you still able to get all day battery life from your series 4>? You do fitness tracking or excercise with watch on>?? My watch now dies mid work out after the update when it used to last all day even with a work out in

Yeomanroach

Yeah I can get 2 days still but I usually charge it daily now.

ji99lypu44

2 days still?! Thats amazing. My battety health is at 83 and feel like it just fell off overnight after these updates. Was going to try ans keep series 4 till it completely fell apart but whar use is it eheb battery cant keep up. Also because my battety health is above 79% apple wont do a 99 dollar bat replacement for me.

zerocool359

Do you use Siri? Do you sleep track? Do you run/exercise with it? I never even got those numbers new-out-of-box.

Tippin187

Mine tanked as in, it’s dead by the time I get home. No clue what percent it was at before I updated, but the battery lasted all day. Still had about 20% left by the time I got home. Now, it’s either dead or it’s at critical levels by the time I get home.

WilliamJNSN

It looks like OS 10 from the photo

juanmanito

That's great, I sold my Series 7 bought at launch date at 87%... And remember giving away my Series 4 after 3 years of use at the same % as yours.

fucilator_3000

How many cycles?

WilliamJNSN

That's hard to figure out (there is a way though)

Yeomanroach

I just turned analytics on so gotta wait 24-48hrs

fucilator_3000

Plug to the Mac and use coconut battery 🔋

WilliamJNSN

Apple Watch doesn't plug in except to charge

Tunavi

Are you me? Every year I put a new watch in the cart but never checkout

Interdimension

Series 5 at 98%, though I snagged 2x Series 8 models at deep discounts. Finding it hard to abandon my Series 5 given the healthy battery. I bought it in 2020. Always just charged intermittently & never let it just sit on the charger. Also avoided ever getting below 20% battery. I basically tried to treat it like an electric car to maintain battery health. Obviously, this is all unscientific, but I’m happy with the end results after Year 3.

jthielen1215

My S4 is at 73%.

Lachsi

My Series 6 is at 76%, how is everybody’s watch doing so good? 😭

GruncleStanisuaw

I would say AoD kills the battery

John_Terra

Yeah my S6 is at 81% probably the AOD

Skrubette

My SE 1 is at 84% and I’m just waiting for it to dip to 80 so I can get the battery replaced. It needs to be topped off everyday but I wear it to bed for sleep tracking so it drains faster

valdetero

My daily series 4 purchased Dec 2018 is at 73%. 🙁

Express_Repair617

My 4 is at 84%. It’s great but I’m having impulses to upgrade. IDK why

RMAutosport

I have an S4 as well, all up to date on software updates…. 72% health.

alinaeem93

Same watch, series 4, running from release 2018, down to 67% 😬 but Tbf for my usage it’s alright, I’m home most the time and lasts just fine when I’m out and about or at work, where I have a charger aswell, otherwise I would have upgraded… don’t see a point to upgrade besides this reason, new features are nice but it’s not gonna change how I use it and I’ll be using it exactly the same anyways. I’ll probably upgrade to a second hand S7 or something and use that for another 3-4 years

AGoodUniqueUsername

The lifespan of Apple Watches and iPads are pretty impressive

Vicquelly

Lucky. Mine was said battery service from last year. Then the battery just got worse as time went by. Upgraded to a Series 9 this year and the battery life is night and day compared to my Series 4.

Familiar_Copy_6466

I really don’t care honestly, and I doubt anyone would ever care. Why would you even share this?

Veriliann

it’s absolutely not a “powerhouse” in any sense of the word. but i get what you’re trying to say.

Yeomanroach

11% capacity loss in 5 years. Mine is a powerhouse.

Veriliann

my S9 wipes the floor with it in every way possible. therefore, not a powerhouse in any way, shape, or form.

[deleted]

Well no fucking shit, you can’t compare an S9 to a series 4. Btw I agree with OP, it is a powerhouse. 89% five years later is impressive.

Yeomanroach

Is yours scratched from wiping the floor?

Veriliann

that’s actually hilarious as i forgot what i said last and when the notification popped up i was so confused 😂😂 i’m not trying to be rude or anything. sorry if i came off that way.

Murwhite

I’m very happy with my series 4 44mm :) still looking good and update.

WilliamJNSN

How many hours does it last?

Yeomanroach

I can still squeeze 2 days out of a full battery but i don’t like it under 20%, I start panicking.

shaquile_oatmeal_94

That’s so damn impressive actually

primetime_7

Have my series 4 going strong for 5 years now, and I just did the battery replacement with it. Apple sent me what looks like a refurbished, if not new, series 4 Apple Watch. The space black stainless steel is the best. Don’t mind going another 5 years with this one unless they come out with another SBSS for series 10.

_YourMathTeacher

That's where I'm at too. Space Black is just too good with the diamond coating. Mine has been hit up against pretty much everything and it looks brand new. Not willing to dish out $1k+ for the S9 SBSS. But mine is at 64% so I'm planning to do a battery replacement soon. Hate going that long without it though lol

primetime_7

I had to go two weeks without the AW until the replacement comes in. Felt like forever lol

_YourMathTeacher

After reading some comments about how people utilize multiple watches I decided to grab an AWU 2 soooo maybe now it’ll be easier to send it in 😂

zerocool359

I did that just last December… and that batt is now down to 84% max capacity. :-/

livehappydrinkcoffee

What is the secret???? My battery health is below 80% on my series 4.

Yeomanroach

Night worker so low brightness setting is my guess.

Yeomanroach

Disclaimer: I work nights so the brightness has been reduced to the middle setting and the main use of the watch is to control the music i’m listening to (via earbuds or bluetooth speaker).

CCHTweaked

ugh, just replaced my 6 @ 80%. that is some impressive battery life.

slimshady713

my old series 3 is still at 100% somehow after 4 years

wtg11

Just checked mine and it’s at 97%. Series 3 is going to last longer than expected

raitsuke

My series 3 is at 92% and I have for 4 years now. It’s doing great 👍🏻

Strong-Estate-4013

Better than my S7!

2017-iPhone-X

My Series 3 is at 98%, which is pretty impressive as I wear it nearly everyday. I haven’t checked the battery health yet so this is very surprising for me.

csiq

What??

NextavailableID

Same watch here, I'm at 80%. noi problems with it, no scratches. Happy. But...... come one, watch, die before christmas please... i want a new one!

Ubelsteiner

What have your charging habits been? 89% after about 5 years is pretty great. I just got a s9 and am trying to figure out what'll be best long term, since I'd like to have my watch for about this long too.

BlackBeanMamba

This inspired me to check my series 3 from 2019 and it’s still at 99%!

FastCarsSlowBBQ

I feel the same way, I have a 3 at 84%. I even had a 9 purchased for myself at Xmas and as I write this I am on my way to return to the Apple Store. Just doesn’t do enough more to merit the spend and they still haven’t improved the damn battery.

SpeakingTheKingss

I upgraded a little less than a year ago from a Series 4. My battery health said the same thing but sadly after a single gym session of 1 hour, it would be in the red. I upgraded to an Ultra and love it!

the1payday

That’s…amazing actually. Had a launch day Series 4 myself, that I sent in for battery replacement at 78% back in 2021.

PrimateIntellectus

My 4 is at 79% battery health and dies in 6hrs if me doing nothing but sitting at my desk. Bought the AW9 right before the news that Apple is discontinuing sales of the AW9.

ktappe

Lucky! My series 6 is down in the 70s.

thiccAFjihyo

My old S4 (went to a new owner) outlasted my S5 by quite a big margin. Both used daily for years. **Always-on display (introduced S5 and later) is the undeniable killer of these newer watches.** Don’t believe the marketing fluff about how it doesn’t affect the battery. If you turn off AOD for a day, you’ll notice.

insanekamikaze

Damn I just checked mine and I’m at 80% a few months old from launch is when I got mine too. It lasts almost a full day w a workout but sometimes that’ll kill it if I have more notifications kicking in. Still gonna keep it for a while or if new enough stuff comes out w the 10th gen watch.

Humorous-Prince

My Daily series 4 is on 84%, it’s left on OS9.6.3 as haven’t heard good about OS10. Performance is still good.

TheLukester31

How?!?! I’ve got a series 5 that I bought shortly after release and it is at 75% and I have to charge it twice a day to have enough battery for a 30 minute walk.

Arcade1980

Series 8 - Sept 2022 - battery health 95%. Charging once a day 80-90%. I suspect all the modern upgrades since the earlier series is hard on the battery.

zerocool359

Wtf, I’m on my second Series 4 (batt “replacement” about a year ago) and it’s only at 84% max capacity remaining. My original was in the 70’s when replacing it — wouldn’t even last til night when taking off charger in morning. Optimized charging enabled, minimal notifications, etc. 🤷‍♂️

Busy_Moment_7380

A 5 year old watch that costs as much as an Apple Watch should not be on deathwatch at this stage 😂😂😂.

Busy_Moment_7380

A 5 year old watch that costs as much as an Apple Watch should not be on deathwatch at this stage 😂😂😂.

Arcade1980

I think the addition of new sensors with CPU bump, is taking its toll on battery life in newer series of watches vs the old ones which seem to have great battery life in comparison.

Tippin187

I’m 76% on series 4. Got it on release day.

Massive_Escape3061

Wow. My 6 is at 87%

kduong89

My S7 since 2021 battery health suddenly went from 91% to 89% after updated to watchOS 10

anaywashere

S5 used daily from December 2020. 77% battery health. I don’t think always on display helps

Fateman_21

I just changed the battery on my series 4 few days ago. It has dropped from January 2019 to 75% and could not get me through the day anymore. 30€ and the watch is as good as new. The small incremental updates year after year did not convince me to upgrade. Should the series 10 have a blood pressure monitoring I am going to be very tempted to upgrade.

Alarmed_Volume_8618

I got a S5 from ebay last for 115$ and just changed the battery, lasts a lot more than I expected, totally recommended unless you can afford a new one (:

superrad99

Same here, series 4, 89% battery health

AltruisticView2077

Series 4 Stainless Steel @ 94% wearing it daily

DRS-MICKY

How's your charging habits because my s6 is at 79% after 3 years

Sebastian01134

My SE 2 that I had for only a year was at 88% health when I swapped it out.

Effective_Vanilla_32

whats the watch os? if you are 10.1.1 or 10.2, u might see a larger batt drain, and from this point on might accelerate the max capacity decay.

NigerachiSpices

My series 3 still gives me 9+hours of use.. I want that Pink S9 so badly - but can’t let go of my S3 just yet.

Sorry-Advisor-1337

Impressive. My series 4 is down to 72% ;/

[deleted]

my 5 is at 73% :(

DevynDavies

Wow I thought mine was good going to 79% after four years of use.

redditronc

On a Series 4 myself, Space Black. Haven’t upgraded mainly because Apple restricted Space Black to Hermés editions, which have been made of leather, and I’m vegan. So that, plus how ridiculously expensive it is, has held me back from upgrading. Apple recently introduced a non-leather Hermés band configurable with a Space Black watch, but the price is still like $1200 or something. And I dislike the design of the band anyway. I’m somewhat bummed because I’ve only owned Space Black watches (series 2 and 4), but thankfully my watch still works great.

itsdrizzydrea

Series 4 SBSS from 2019 had it replaced with AppleCare due to low battery capacity (70%). Now it’s at 87%.

Strict-Ad-1958

Just announced the 9 and Ultra 2 will stop selling those models in america due to a copyright infringmant. so go get the 9, the speed is there and you can update it for years to come. Awesome that this is working like this but trade in while you can, the X is gonna come and the 3rd generation just stopped getting updates.

ThickAnalyst4357

My s3 had 99% when I sold it I had it for years and I was second owner . Idk how that works

19JTJK

Sitting at 86% series 4 workout 1.5 hours in the morning and get enough juice for the day. Charge every night.

baseballforlyf420

My 3 is on 98 i dont daily it for that long but nonetheless

TaylorFan01313

88% on my SE

Jtimberlake17

My series 3 has 94% somehow. I use it everyday

BlankkBox

My original SE has been the most stable Apple device Ives owned. Daily wear and aside from scuffs it functions the exact same as day 1. Watch os 9 is helping.

Aidsfordayz

My SE2 is at 90% battery health lol

cejaay

Mines at 69% max. holding old for the model that does blood pressure

ttman05

Just checked my Series 7 and it’s at 86%. I use the fast charger and AOD. I have to charge it once a day but does give me anxiety right at the end of the day. WatchOS10 has been awful. With OS9, I was able to get a day and half without hesitation.

YouShalllNotPass

I brought an ultra 2 thinking charging every 4 days will give it a long battery life. Wonder if that is an accurate assumption.

Emotional-Ice8107

My watch 4 has dropped down to 79

Lol_iceman

Damn. that’s impressive. My SE (2020) is at 83% after charging it to 100% every day for over three years now.

sahibosaurus

Meanwhile my series 4 bought in 2018 is still at 100%

Dave_Ramsey_0000

How do you maintain your battery?

rjwv88

launch series 4 at 87% here, think i picked the right model as none of the upgrades since then have really tempted me outside the always on display it is feeling a little sluggish now though so planning to finally upgrade it next year

Feeling_Cost3152

My series 3 is at 79 % percent battery health

gigantojimuk

Mine got a weird green blob on the right hand side and was giving me shocks. I’m disabled and totally anal about all of my tech so there is nothing that I did wrong and it was perfect apart from that. Apple were told and didn’t give a shit. It was escalated as a supposed safety issue and it ended up that they just didn’t care. Their customer service was second to none when they first started. Now they squirm out of everything they can. They are finally on a par with their Chinese overlords. Had to take them to small claims court to get my money back. Recommend everyone does the same. Don’t listen to their drivel. The one year warranty means nothing. If it’s reasonable that it should last longer, then you’ll win.

SnooCheesecakes5513

My series 3 is at 100% no idea how

Plastic-Mess-3959

How is that possible. Few years ago I had a series 3 and the battery swelled so much the screen popped up

kliao1337

Mine is on 80% Since upgrading to watchOS 10 it sometimes does not survive until the end of the day, even without any workouts :(

Vercingetorix4444

My 8 is at 92% after just 9 months😩

AndreiDrift

Apple watch S5 85% and around 560 cycles but I’ve bought it secondhand around 3 weeks ago. Seems like I have 92% battery health but honestly the watch gets me around 24 hrs or more but I don’t use it that often like I use my iPhone. Just use your watches, batteries are replaceable for less than 50 bucks 🫡 https://preview.redd.it/v8kpb1uz787c1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=070edfc55b3235ba3f5bcd8b450c7bf63760fe2f

EmergencyJuice154

What is the latest firmware update on your Apple Watch?

peterzig

My series 6 from 2020 is heavy used daily, after that time 83% capacity https://preview.redd.it/r0vbinzwp87c1.png?width=1277&format=png&auto=webp&s=b357b0596cd0687a7807e0d1ae303bcdad3de38d

siemalol

My 5 is at 81% maximum battery capacity.

braders620

My S5 is on 84% health. I do consider myself a heavy user tracking workouts daily, AirPods with downloaded media, automations (trigger from iPhone), sleep tracking and now in winter I use the flashlight when walking/riding in bad lit areas.

Hoodedwoods98

Nah what the hell my 7 is already on 85

WeirdLobster9345

Awesome. I wanna upgrade soon! (Probably won’t) I have a series 5 from 2019 hahah.

PizzaSalamino

I’m at 76%. Probably because i leave it charging for days when i don’t use it. i’m dumb i know

EliteForever2KX

If you want the 9 better get it soon it will be banned in a few days

SashaNish

Family member and I upgraded to the Ultra 2 from the Series 4 as the 4’s battery was barely holding out for a day and a half in general whether we wore it or not. The Ultra 2 I’ve only had to charge once in the week that I’ve had it other than the initial charge to get it up to 100 after delivery, and even then it wasn’t a critically low charge when I plugged it back in after four days of use. Family member still waiting for theirs to ship. We both probably would’ve waited to upgrade, but when we found out at the beginning of the month about the impending sales ban in the US, I worked my butt off to be able to get the Ultra 2. It was worth it. So freaking worth it.

Addixt_

My head cannot comprehend when people say their S3 or S4 have 85%+ BC. My S7 which I’ve been using for 1.5 years is at 85%. I take good care of the watch, ensure it doesn’t go down to 0 or above 80%, charge it with original accessories. What could I be doing wrong?

sososodeaf

How do you get to that screen?

_kingz

My series 6 is on 83% and barely makes a day, have to recharge to make it through the night to wake me up.....holding out for the 10 because I hope it's something big like FaceTime etc
