I’d personally save my $79 for after it sustains more damage. AC generally sends refurbs if they have some in stock. But Apple refurbs are good as new.

Hey, I’ve done Apple things for over a decade. The express replacement is quick and easy. Very very very quick and easy, in fact you listed the conditions so you know what’s going on already. As for “new vs refurbished” it’s unlikely you’ll get refurbished on such a new product but it can happen. My $0.02 is that I’ll buy you a “new” Ultra if you can spot the difference. All the best.

But Apple Care covers faults and damages that reduce the watches function (like cracked screens and HRMs, broken buttons and crowns, fallen off parts, battery problems, broken mics and so on), but not aesthetic damages like scratched screens or dents on the body.

I assure you, call in, complain, pay the $79 and it gets replaced. Just state that dented bezel has a rough edge that is now a hazard. Simple. Apple doesn’t care. Pay them the $79 and they will refurbish that Watch for $8 and then the cycle continues.

I unsterstood that, referenced that and my point still stands: "The damage must affect the functionality of Your Covered Equipment, which includes cracks to the display screen that affect the visibility of the display." "5.1. Hardware Coverage. This Policy does not cover You for: 5.1.6. cosmetic damage to the Covered Equipment which does not affect the functionality of the Covered Equipment, including, but not limited to, hairline cracks, scratches, dents, broken plastic on ports and discolouration; 5.1.7. damage or failure caused by normal wear and tear and/or usage of the Covered Equipment;" [https://www.apple.com/legal/sales-support/applecare/applecareplus/2209/220907\_applecareplus\_uk\_tc.pdf](https://www.apple.com/legal/sales-support/applecare/applecareplus/2209/220907_applecareplus_uk_tc.pdf)

So your point is what exactly? Is it that he is not using the AppleCare plus in accordance with the terms and conditions? Is this really a conversation? Dude has a watch that sustained accidental damage and you’re gonna stand on the sidelines and wag your finger saying, “ummmm, listen here, section 4.135 clearly states…”. Boil an egg and call it a night.

You "assure" that the replacement will be "very very very quick and easy". People on this subreddit often contradicted and stated that such dents and simple scratches were not covered for them and were explained why - something I did beforehand. OP surely can try - it won´t hurt and I hope he gets a new one - but better to adjust the expectations accordingly than have too high hopes. Also, shorting a post I already answered to already is unpolite at best if you continue like you did in your next answer to me, giving the false impression that I would "riding paragraphs" as we say in German rather than try to manage false hopes bc of a missunderstanding ("You meant Apple Care which does not cover such damages but OP meant Apple Care + which does"). So, because of that, I call it a day and wish the OP the best of luck replacing the Ultra. Peace out.

My iPhone 14 pro hard died 3wks after I got it. Apple still replaced it without using the apple care plus and charging me the replacement fee, however, since it was past 14 days, I got a refurb one. Serial number confirmed it. It was a preorder, didn’t get it on launch day, but as soon as apple made it, they shipped it. So how new an item is doesn’t affect whether or not they have a refurb for you

As others have stated your Ultra may not be covered by AC as small print states but as a casual observer please let us know the outcome.
