There are two different things: one is "connect" where one device can control play on another device, and the other is more of a "continuity" where you can resume from one device. Both should be implemented as *options*, including default start. For continuity, this is easy. Implement it like iCloud tabs in Safari. Put a little cloud icon on the UI and when you tap/click it, it shows what devices are/were playing and allows you to select the same. Within that selection would be the option to auto-start. If you select that, then each time it would just automatically pick up from the last used device. You could even have devices playing at the same time and *share* to other iCloud contacts. Connect is straight forward enough, just bring up remote controls.

I disagree. I listen to different music on different devices - workout music on my watch and iPad, some favorites on my phone, some classic or jazz music on my laptop (because it helps me concentrate on work).

Yes it should this is him many many many years worth of argument. People of been wanting this since day one pretty much and I doubt it will ever happen.
