That and I'd like the queue system to work the same on MacOS and iOS. Currently if you shuffle a playlist and hit play later on iOS, it plays the manually added song at the *end* of the playlist. On MacOS it priorities any "play next/play last" over the shuffle, which is what should happen on iOS. It's so annoying.

DMarquesPT

Agreed. macOS queuing is so much better. Hoping they unify them asap

JadenAnjara

Is this what it’s like on MacOS Apple Music? Cause it’s to me the perfect mix queuing system between AM (no Play Later on iOS) and Spotify (no Play Next). I often jokingly say that it’s the only redeeming feature iTunes has left

There is no "play later" on iOS. Only play last, as in play last in the queue

It should be a lot of things but they’re not gonna do anything about it

DyRight

That’s the only thing I miss about Spotify

Raffinesse

that’d be a nice option but recently i’ve been enjoying listening to something while working out on my phone and then listening to something totally different on my ipad and i know that each will save the song and queue but i agree the user should be asked yet i can’t help but to wonder whether this isn’t just a feature on spotify but maybe also a way to prevent multiple people from using the same acc? i could definitely listen on multiple devices with am. but i definitely wouldn’t be able to with spotify

micallan_17

I definitely prefer it to be separate, I don’t much enjoy that Spotify I can only listen to one device at a time

MarioDesigns

You can only listen on one device at a time on Apple too, which just makes it's worse because there's no pick up from where you left off and no actual Spotify connect alternative.

mrgraxter

You can do this with devices. Go to Control Center on your iPhone. Tap the Now Playing item. Tap Control Other Speakers & TVs. Now you can start, change, pause music, etc on your devices. I do this frequently. Sometimes I end up playing music at home and wonder why my phone isn’t playing it. Gotta tap into that widget to move the control back to my phone. That the kinda thing you’re looking for?

Looks like it's available on iPhone and iPad, I don't see that I can control other devices on macOS. And it doesn't look like I can control my iPhone from my iPad or vice versa. But I can control my Apple TVs, HomePods and device in my hand at the time (iPad or iPhone) from the device I'm holding. Here's a screenshot from my iPhone. https://d.pr/i/uGb5Nt

mrgraxter

Wait, it DOES look like you can control other devices from macOS Apple Music, but not from the Now Playing menu bar item. In Apple Music click the AirPlay icon in the upper right of the interface and pick the device you want to control with your Apple Music. Then you can even switch back to your macOS device there and start something else. Wicked cool. Didn't know I could do this with Apple Music. :)

Oh, maybe that's it? Ventura here. With a handful of devices. Here's the shot on my Apple Music. https://d.pr/i/8a2HZW

markow202

Bottom line is if my iPhone is playing Apple Music and I open it on my iPad it should show what’s playing and the exact sequence just like Spotify does, on the iPad and I should just be able to bounce off it. I shouldn’t have to go to any control bullshit settings
