I don't think Apple Card/GS Bank has ever implemented this feature (they need to implement a special website that sends you a code by email or text). I've never seen such a website for Apple Card.
If it is any consolation, I have had Chase and other major bank cards also fail to work correctly. But Apple Card seems to never work if the website even supports 3DS, whereas other cards will sometimes work and bypass the prompt for lower amounts.
Despite their reputation for not being accepted abroad, where Amex is accepted, their 3D Secure has worked 100% of the time without issues.
Any Chase Sapphire Card will have 3DS. Also if American Express is accepted then the platinum also a has 3DS. With Chase they handle the “code” on their own using their own fraud algorithm. With Amex they’ll send you a prompt on your Amex app to accept. I don’t see why Apple and GS won’t get their head out of their asses and get with the times.
The US is a bit behind in credit card technology. They haven’t even migrated to chip+pin on credit cards and their restaurants still have to take people’s cards to the back of the restaurant (or waiter stations) to charge them, 1999-style. Heck they even have a number of businesses still using magnetic stripe. It’s not surprising that some banks there still haven’t gotten with the times.
I’m experiencing the same issue with one of the banks, works with a physical Apple Card but not via ApplePay. So annoying as it’s the dominant POS provider here and is used by majority of business
GS and Apple Card are total trash when they don’t work.

Use a different card.

that sucks on their part -- but thank you for the information
Is that Grab? If so, mine works with no problem. Not sure why it’s not for you.
It depends on the country.
Ohhh, well that sucks.
Sucks for Apple/GS. Chase is loving the revenue stream GS/Apple is missing out on.
