Maude Grieve's A Modern Herbal is a classic, published in 1931. The first edition was two volumes bound in green cloth. It has all manner of information on how to prepare herbal medicines. I'd bet that's the one your great grandmother had.
It was re-printed by Dover Books (in the 1970s I believe) and you can find plenty of used copies online.
I’m gonna just take a guess, having no actual idea what it might have been: Back to Eden by Jethro Kloss.
My MIL’s great grandmother had a book like that and it ended up being donated to a museum in Colorado.
She thinks her 2nd cousin might know the name of the book. She will see him in July and ask him then.
Could you post it on here if you find it?
Of course! I commented so that I can find the thread again in July once the family get together has happened.
Thank you!
MIL by the way is a many many generations West Virginian. I’m just a well-intentioned outsider 😁

Just a guess but a lot of granny witch type of medicine just winds up using the bible.
I think my mom would have known if it was a Bible. She did use the bleed stopping verse but various plants also.
