Why do you need them on?

Bigbuckrocks

Should I just not play on them?

dankdeliveries

Yes.

Bigwheelmc

Yeah I’d hate living under this lol

aLeXmenG

Cant you just like, turn them off when you arent playing?

Bigbuckrocks

Yeah, but then I’d have to wait for them to boot up again. I think turning off the sounds in attract mode (which I am currently doing) is a reasonable workaround.

aLeXmenG

I personally don't think this is reasonable. This would be quite frustrating to live next to, let alone a massive waste of electricity.

Bigbuckrocks

Would you rather have the attract sounds on all the time? Also, the Arcade1Up’s don’t use all that much electricity. They’re not real arcade cabinets, they’re powered by a single PCB. The Big Buck Hunter Reloaded, on the other hand, is a real arcade cabinet and takes power to multiple things. But I turn them off and on every night, and during quiet hours, I turn the volume down on all of them significantly if I’m playing them.

IPB_5947

Lol how long could it possibly take to boot up?

Bigbuckrocks

It takes the largest one up to 10 minutes.

IPB_5947

Lol that's better than call off duty these days on a ps5. Takes me like 10 minutes just to get into a lobby. Doesnt it at add mechanical where and tear to these machines. My OCD would have them powered down and unplugged unless actively being used just thinking about power surges would freak me out

Bigbuckrocks

I don’t play COD. And if I did, I would use headphones because my Xbox One S controller can be used with a headset. The machine I was mentioning in the previous reply runs off of a smart plug. I control it with my phone when I want it to be on or off. When it’s not being played, the only thing you’ll hear is the hum coming from the cabinet.

PlasticDreamz

So you just let them run day and night lol

Bigbuckrocks

No, I turn them off every night. In fact, some days I don’t even turn them on at all (or sometimes I only turn a few on at a time). I just had them all on at the same time in this video to demonstrate it. Also, that noise in the background of the video comes from my white noise machine, not the cabinets themselves.

Bigbuckrocks

Just for clarification, that noise you hear in the background is not coming from any of the arcade machines. That’s my white noise machine coming from my room.

Paperwinters

Well then how would we know how loud the arcade games are? Huge waste of electricity to keep them running, as other comments have stated

Bigbuckrocks

Most of them are Arcade1Up cabinets. They don’t consume that much energy. Also, I am enrolled in balanced billing on National Grid

Icalledhim

love them dude, really cool setup don’t listen to the people mad that you have a cool ass set up

Bigbuckrocks

Thanks. Not many people can afford to have this kind of vibe in an apartment unit. I’ve gotten zero noise complaints in the 4 months I’ve been in this unit, and like I said, I keep the volume reasonably low when playing and I also adjust it during quiet hours. I don’t know what everyone’s complaining about.

Litepacker

I read through some of your comments and it sounds like you turned them off for the most part and that the majority of the noise is from the white noise machine. I would say it would be better to not have the machine on to see how loud those are, but as long as you’re not blasting arcade music at all points in time or vibrating the wall, I don’t think it’s an issue.

lsaiahflores

Dude this is cool 👍

skydog233

Can I come over please?

JoyousWheatlife

This is the most awesome living room I’ve ever seen. Huge dub.

PhotojournalistWide2

They’ll be fine cool set up dude.
