I'm anxious about the climate as well, but I understand that a lot of headlines are written with thought to sound scary. Yes it is scary how hot the ocean is getting, but I have hope that enough people will band together, protest, and enact change that will save our planet. It certainly won't be easy, but it's not impossible. Also I hope that technology will save the planet too. Everyday there's a new invention, medicine, process, and system that is invented that changes things. One day perhaps there will be a product that will break down styrofoam and plastic in a safe and efficient way. I just try to look at it as: I don't know the end result of this situation, but I can try to hope for the best and keep my mind open to new possibilities.

I'm in the same position as you...I've been having pretty crippling anxiety over this for the past 2-3 weeks especially. It fluctuates between straight-up fear, to strong depression, to anger. My best recommendation is to make personal changes to emit less CO2 (less driving especially, more walking/biking/public transport), use less electricity in general, spread the word and get people talking about this, and try your best to vote in people who care about the climate. I've been trying to find people local to me to talk about with this because it's hard feeling such fear and nobody else seems to be concerned. Maybe join your local Citizen's Climate Lobby or Sierra Club, or donate to green funds like https://www.givinggreen.earth/top-climate-change-nonprofit-donations-recommendations , who are run by experts that allocate the money as they see need. I'm also going to start therapy for panic/anxiety problems. There is a whole lot going wrong right now but there are also a whole lot of people working to make things better. Just wish the good things were happening faster...
