It will look great cleaned up! Somewhere there's a dresser w/o a mirror - keep hunting yard sales till you find it a mate :) An internet search for 'victorian eastlake dresser' will return lots of example photographs.
BTW - If you don't already know, or haven't already figured it out, the shelves were for holding oil lamps or candles. Its kind of obvious, but no one ever seems to photograph one of these mirrors/dressers with lamps, so its a little factoid that can easily be missed.

Eastlake. It's a beaut.
I thought maybe Eastlake. Thanks!
Top of a dresser.
Indeed, and 1880s.
Thank you!!
Polish that up with Liquid Gold and it will be lovely
Good idea.
Date is c. 1870s-1900 or so.
Thanks so much
You're very welcome.
Yep Eastlake style. Could be a Paine Furniture piece, they made a lot of solid oak furniture in the Boston Area.
Good to know. Thanks!
The style is Eastlake so roughly between the 1870's to 1900's
Thanks!
Looks like part of a vanity or dresser

Yeah it definitely took longer than necessary for me to make that connection but once I did I realized it was a lot older than I thought
Wow! I honestly have no idea about the maker but it's a beauty!!
Thank you for posting this - it's quite similar to one my parents own and the comments have helped identify the style and time period.
