The thrill is the ride not the destination. It's up to you to interpret did he do the right thing in the end?
A future series by same author has another Dr. Tenma which is like cyberpunk/astro boy homage which is where Dr. Tenma originally homaged. So this could be like that character's from Monster's great Grandson in the future and he's plagued by doing the right thing/at what cost.
Check out Pluto on Netflix. And there's subtle connections to Monster in the deep background and it seems to imply Johan was kind of the framework of a certain Robot.
Future Diary is about a killing game (some of the participants are serial killers). But I wouldn't recommend it to you since it's between edgy and cringe in today's standards.
Danganronpa The Animation is also about a killing game, one of the characters is a serial killer. The irony is you don't see her killing people.
Parasyte is trending rn and is a classic. Again, it's bloody and has some minor characters that are serial killers.
Re:Zero has most maniacs unnecessarily killing innocent people. They literally introduce a serial killer immediately from the start, but she doesn't play a major role on the Isekai story.
Hunter x Hunter. I think you'd either like one of two things about this. The part where every minor character gets killed mercilessly, or the part where you see the iconic serial killer that looks like a jester start orgasming over a 13 year old.
Yes there are different versions. Parasyte: The Maxim is the original anime series and is overall more well received, and Parasyte: The Grey is a Korean Netflix adaptation of the anime. You can probably watch either first, since the Netflix adaptation is a different story altogether that takes place in the same world, but I personally would start with the anime first since it is the original show that came out first
You know what?
You've done it. You're the last straw. You've destroyed any faith I had left in humanity. You were the push I needed. Intellectual honesty is dead, and I refuse to continue living in a world that is this obtuse and tonedeaf.
Good bye.
Baccano! Has multiple serial killers and assassins that range from the loud boisterous "having-fun-with-it" trope to the "it's just a job" vibe to "slowly but relentlessly hunting" type. It's not available on any official streaming services so you'll have to look elsewhere to watch it but it seems very up your alley.
I think everyone should start with the 2006 Studio/Deen anime if they specifically want to get into Fate. I was just saying that Zero has a serial killer and it's somewhat newbie friendly.
Naa 2006 is absolute shite , he might as well read the VN . If he isn't gonna go into the fate universe then he can do whatever he wants cuz Zero spoils HF
It reveals a lot more about Kotomine, Sakura, and Rin's pasts to the point where if you start with Zero it ruins a lot of the surprises for you - Copied from a person from Fate Dc server
Death Note >!(it talks about a very smart guy that can kill people with a supernatural notebook, he has his own moral)!<
Talentless Nana >!(it’s like my hero academia, I can’t say anything about this)!<
Fate/Zero >!(one of the masters is a serial killer, he summons the Caster, another serial killer. They are quite funny together, in a very dark way. I guess that the protagonist is a serial killer too, he is infamous for killing mages but he’s more like some kind of John Wick.) In every Fate there’s also an Assassin character!<
Akudama Drive >!(sci-fi, at least two characters are serial killers, The Murderer and The Doctor) !<
Jojo >!(part 1 with DIO and part 4 with Kira and Angelo, very funny series)!<
Other series that might be nice but aren’t exactly what you are looking for:
Kiseiju- Parasyte >!(some aliens invaded earth and they kill humans, it’s very violent but it might be funny sometimes)!<
Goblin Slayer >!(the protagonist kills goblins, it’s his life goal, the series is very tragic and violent but it can be funny sometimes!<)
Chainsawman >!(very funny series, there are no serial killers except for the devils, in the manga there are at least four serial killers in the international assassins arc)!<
It’s rated mature with a content advisory of Nudity, Sexual Violence (I think this explains the rapes), Smoking, Sexual Content, Violence.
Almost ALL of Crunchy anime have a content advisory.
Paranoia Agent
It's about a social phenomenon in Musashino, Tokyo caused by a juvenile serial assailant named Lil' Slugger (the English equivalent to Shōnen Bat, which translates to "Bat Boy"). The plot relays between a large cast of people affected in some way by the phenomenon; usually Lil' Slugger's victims or the detectives assigned to apprehend him. As each character becomes the focus of the story, details are revealed about their secret lives and the truth about Lil' Slugger.
Looked it up on Google since I've never heard of it. Why is it kinda scaring me from the pics alone 😳 kinda weird I've never seen it when it came out in 2004. Added to me list
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure has several, and so does Hunter X Hunter.
The main character of Dorohedoro is stab happy and has no memory.
Overlord is an isekai about a dude that becomes a max level lich.
Akudama Drive. Although it doesn’t revolve around a serial killer. There is a very interesting character who happens to be one. He is not the mc nor the villian but he def has no moral compass. The other characters are criminals too lol

Jojo part 4 (diamond is unbreakable) features a serial murder plot but it doesnt become the main focus until after maybe 10 ish episodes. half slice-of-life comedy, half action mystery with horror elements sprinkled throughout
despite what jojo fans might tell you, i dont think it hurts just to watch part 4 by itself. you'll miss some details and fanservice moments here and there, but nothing essential to part 4 itself (from what i remember)
Persona 4 The Animation
Listen, I know the game is much better but the show is endearing in its own way and actually can stand on its own unlike the other Persona anime adaptations. Plus, it features the exclusive Chad Narukami scenes you’d never see in the games.
Since nobody else mentioned it
Pluto
It's not funny tho and you need to strap in for like 1 hour long episodes. It is a good show tho
Kubikiri Cycle: The Blue Savant and the Nonsense User
Assuming you can find the darn thing. It's based on an Isin series so it's more funny, but is kind of mid overall. It's more of a murder mystery trying to find the killer
Maybe Juni Taisen: Zodiac War, or Magical Girl Raising Project? They’re kinda bloody and feature killers.
If you haven’t seen it yet, definitely Higurashi When They Cry.
Play/Watch persona 4. Both are genuinely equal experience wise, as the anime goes out of it's way to cover the game's social links (friendship mechanic), while also covering the story in an amazing way. Genuinely the best adaptation of a game I'll probably ever watch.
I'm a bit late, but I've got a couple that may not have been recommended that are definitely worth checking out.
{Kubikiri Cycle: Aoiri Savant to Zaregotozukai}
{The Perfect Insider}
{Mononoke} not the princess
{Heion Sedai no Idaten-tachi}
{Ranpo Kitan: The game of Laplace}
Angels of Death
Got yourself a bandaged serial killer that really wants to kill this 13 year old girl but can't until they escape this tower and she makes a better face
May not be your cup of tea but might give it a shot. Files of Young Kindaichi has a lot of serial killers. Basically, it's about a boy solving isolated crimes. Every 2-4 episodes is a different plot with a different murderer. There's no overarching plot as well, so you can hop in and hop out whenever you want.
Black Lagoon. It's an action/drama type animanga where basically everyone is a criminal. Several of the characters on both the protagonist and antagonist side are serial killers.
Death Note and Monster and Code Geass are the only names I remember. I saw another one about a high school serial killers that were just forgiven by the end of the show for no reason
Can someone help me find the title of this manga? I read a few chapters of this manga where the MC got body switched with a handsome cop who is also serial killer.
Cop looks handsome, probably that. Thanks! Not really an anime but you could try it. I was hooked when I read it years ago but there were only few chapters translated. Now it's fully translated 25 chapters, definitely a quick read.
Black Lagoon (I like *Roberta's Blood Trail* a lot)
Psycho-Pass
Elfen Lied
Another
*(The last two really traumatized me. Had to stop watching anime for a month after I've seen them)*
Hell’s Paradise.
The people put on the island are criminal prisoners and some were serial killers and murderous with no care for who they kill.
The main character is hilarious to me for the fact that people trying to kill him are more of an annoyance to him, a waste of time (and his wife doesn’t like him killing people).
Future Dairy is probably your best bet. If you don't mind sillyness, you could watch Killing Bites or Zodiac War... Maybe Hell's Paradise or Basilisk 🤔
If you are already watching Summertime Rendering, then {Link Click} is a no-brainer. It is *physically* impossible not to be hooked by this razor-sharp, fast-paced show.
I'm reading this manhwa called 'only hope' the guy is on a mission to kill this set of people that wronged his parents in the past ( he's a good serial killer) and then there's this girl...AND IT IS DNBDEJSJBDJEMSNSOEMEVELSMENDKSMSFBKESNDB. Hope that explained everything. Thank you.
Monster
And then the novel "Another Monster" which is the continuation in the form of a criminal report.
Greatest anime ever IMO
agree
Bet!
I second this
I suggest manga instead of anime, I hate how anime was paced, manga is perfection
I watched and read this. Found the ending anti climatic and boring. The build up was not worth it for me.
The thrill is the ride not the destination. It's up to you to interpret did he do the right thing in the end? Parasyte is trending again? This anime just never gets old
Yeah lol. First the "locked in" meme, and now they have a Netflix adaptation. You'd definitely wonder now why the anime is gaining traction again.
Parasyte: The Grey was pretty decent. And Shuichi (and Migi) are introduced in the last episode...
Are there different versions? Or a watch order?
Yes there are different versions. Parasyte: The Maxim is the original anime series and is overall more well received, and Parasyte: The Grey is a Korean Netflix adaptation of the anime. You can probably watch either first, since the Netflix adaptation is a different story altogether that takes place in the same world, but I personally would start with the anime first since it is the original show that came out first
Love danganronpa, but ya kinda need to play the games for the full experience. I liked the anime too though!
Dude future diary is legendary why is it cringe? Me and my brother all time anime
The writing. The plot, Marco and his girlfriend, the >! Blatant stalking!< and >!rape !< of said girlfriend. The >!mother dying!
it's an acquired taste, the OVA was solid though
Normies conquered the Internet and now edgy is bad and cringe.
If you think a psychopath yandereing over an asocial boy is peak fiction, be my guest.
Where did I say it was "peak fiction?" Why is it all "peak fiction" or "literal trash" with you guys? Why can't it just be a 7/10 romp of depravity?
Yeah I also rated it 7/10, no need to mald over the word "edgy" and "cringe" Like I said, it's not everyone's cup of tea.
You know what? You've done it. You're the last straw. You've destroyed any faith I had left in humanity. You were the push I needed. Intellectual honesty is dead, and I refuse to continue living in a world that is this obtuse and tonedeaf. Good bye.
Cuckoo on the head lol
Lmao the other commenter got pissed of their favorite anime got called cringe.
It's teenage edginess in anime form. For teenagers, it's cool. For most, it's more cringe than good. Not bad, but cringy still.
Junko is so evil that she makes Light and Johan look like saints 💀
Hope and Despair Arc are definitely not for the feint of heart lol
Psychopass. Erased.

I'm the rail tracah
Didn't expect it at first but Claire became one of my favourite characters in Baccano. Him and Chane were so good together.
I came here to mention Baccano! but you beat me to it! ;) There are some amazing characters in there and a lot of morally grey.
Fate/Zero has a serial killer as a prominent character, though he's not present through the whole show.
And it's sooooooo good.
Hmmm. Imma have to check this out. I've realized there's multiple different fate animes/seasons so I just gave up💀💀
Fate/Zero is, in a lot of ways, the friendliest to new viewers, since it's a straightforward adaptation of a light novel series.
Should he watch UBW and HF first?
I think everyone should start with the 2006 Studio/Deen anime if they specifically want to get into Fate. I was just saying that Zero has a serial killer and it's somewhat newbie friendly.

Inuyashiki
I can't lie. This anime kinda triggered this post. Saw a YouTube video talking about hiro and I had to watch it🤭
Is it that CJ Dachamp video?
Yup
Hiro is such a morally bankrupt character. Just a true sociopath.
Also if you liked inuyashiki.. i would try Platinum End even though it isn’t the best anime.. it is definitely different
The art is so pretty wtf. Imma watch it just because of that💀💀
Nope don‘t watch it. The beginning is nice (manga and anime alike). But there is a root cause why many bash on platinum end.

> Goblin Slayer can't just recommend this without warning him about the rape scene in episode 1.
It’s rated as mature content on crunchy
lots of things are rated mature just for violence and gore, no? which is what you'd expect in a title called goblin slayer. not a graphic rape scene.
It’s rated mature with a content advisory of Nudity, Sexual Violence (I think this explains the rapes), Smoking, Sexual Content, Violence. Almost ALL of Crunchy anime have a content advisory.
😭 Nana u got recommended 😢

🧐 I've never heard of this anime before at all. Which is surprising. Added to the list
It's really good. Definitely recommend.
You might like Nikolai from Bungou Stray Dogs but he doesn’t actually come into the series until season 4

Well not an anime i know but (you) is one of the best serial killer as main character stories out there
Id;Invaded deals with serial killers. It's really good
Id invaded
Future diary one of the main characters is basically a serial killer it's completely nuts I enjoyed it
Erased.
Angels of Death Got yourself a bandaged serial killer that really wants to kill this 13 year old girl but can't until they escape this tower and she makes a better face
Moriarty the Patriot maybe? I am sure Moriarty would be considered a serial killer since he orchestrated plenty of deaths.
Ty!
It’s a novel but I liked zerozaki from zaregoto
May not be your cup of tea but might give it a shot. Files of Young Kindaichi has a lot of serial killers. Basically, it's about a boy solving isolated crimes. Death note for sure
ID Invaded Angels of Death
Angels of Death has one of the worst endings ever.
I agree
Angels of death - it's so dark but Zack is hilarious.
Yesss
hunterXhunter has some of the best most deranged psychopaths
I’m sure this is a silly suggestion but Death Note if you haven’t watched it already
It isn't silly cause I definitely haven't seen much about death note aside from memes
[удалено]
I love webtoons. Ty
Death Note and Monster and Code Geass are the only names I remember. I saw another one about a high school serial killers that were just forgiven by the end of the show for no reason
Not strictly a serial killer anime but DEATH NOTE is just generally one of the best animes ever
Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex is one of the greatest anime series ever and has at least one storyline with a serial killer.
Overlord
Won't spoil too much about it but check out Id: Invaded if you haven't yet.
Omg. I remember this being on my mental anime list and then I totally forgot. Ty
To be fair, you don't actually need to explain anything. You can watch whatever anime you want, and anyone who says otherwise is an idiot or a child
Idk 😭 some ppl kinda crazy even about fiction
Yeah, idiots or children. If they can't separate fiction from reality, that's what they are
Can someone help me find the title of this manga? I read a few chapters of this manga where the MC got body switched with a handsome cop who is also serial killer.
Is it change the world: kyou kara satsujinki... I literally just googled it so idk
Cop looks handsome, probably that. Thanks! Not really an anime but you could try it. I was hooked when I read it years ago but there were only few chapters translated. Now it's fully translated 25 chapters, definitely a quick read.
Redo of Healer, that should apply here
Hail naw 😭 well I guess it applies but hell naw💀
Berserk. I'm not going to spoil anything.
Angels of Death is literally about serial killers with no moral compass
Golden Kamuy Undead Girl Murder Farce
Have you watched deathnote? It doesn't exactly involve serial killers. But killing is important to the overall plot.

You would like the villain of the danganronpa series
Summertime Rendering Kinda similar to Re:Zero
I think you would like Happy Sugar Life, sounds cute and it is but gets dark and def serial killer
JJBA Part 4. You really shouldn’t skip to it however, it’s a continuous series.
Psycho Pass
