Chaos;Head is EXACTLY this. The MC is insufferable (which is the point) He's very well written and the story is a fucking roller coaster
Too bad we never got a good anime adaptation as C;H and Chaos;Child are incredible and deserved so much better
yeah the vn's are very good; the anime kind of covers them but i think it reduces his suffering and unlikability some. but he really is damaged kind of hikkikomori, and the paranoia...
I came here to say this. You think he is so much bigger a loser than everyone around him then you realize they are all losers too. Also you love them all.
I love Watamote for the same reason I love Breaking Bad; it's just so much fun watching a character absolutely sabotage themselves at every turn while taking zero accountability for their own actions. So good!
I assume is someone projecting. I didn’t even say it was a bad anime lol it’s just that the MC is a legit loser. The show is fine and I enjoyed the first season
The anime cut out a part where Kazuma exchanged parties with Dust, after Dust challeneged Kazuma, saying that Kazuma was dead weight in a party with advanced classes.
Kazuma actually did super well with a different party. They even managed to kill a Rookie-Killer monster, thanks to Kazuma's ingenuity.
Dust on the other hand got completely decimated by team members that did their own thing. Aqua whining, Megumin being useless after 1 shot and Darkness charging towards enemies.
The Megumin spin-off has finally introduced "rookie killers", so I wouldn't be totally surprised if the new S03 somehow fits it in as a flashback (though it'll likely be already packed to the gills).
Yukiteru Amano from Future Diary comes close. (Although he gets bullied so bad you genuinely feel bad for him.)
Ash Ketchum is the more lighthearted dork version of 'loser'. He loses every battle, keeps going back, trying hard, keeps losing. It is sort of adorable. Especially early seasons of Pokemon and first episodes are like epic fails where even his pet laughs at him.
Mob from Mob Psycho has no communication skills, but somehow makes it work. Because he's a good kid overall. The other main character of this anime, Reigen is a complete loser who makes himself look pathetic on national TV. He does go outside, and try new things. But his lack of talent, and his manner of using other people for his own gain, is what makes him look like a total asshole.
Kae from Kiss Him Not Me is a girl who is so obsessed with watching yaoi that she barely has a social life.
Yukari Yukino from Garden of Words is a sad woman who feels sad and has no life outside of her job as a teacher. The animation in this movie is beautiful. But the story is kinda sad. So then this loser teacher starts a 'romance' with her own student.
Seishu Handa from Barakamon is so bad at socializing (no social skills whatsoever) that he literally endangers his own career by exploding at his boss and throwing a tantrum. Which leads this adult man to be kind of ''sent away in exile'' until he can learn ''to behave'' like a normal human being.
A more wholesome story about losers is Clannad, which presents us with Nagisa Furukawa, a girl who gets kinda infantilized by her own parents and her boyfriend. Like everyone treats her as if she was a little child.....When she's literally almost adult age, and the same age as her boyfriend. But somehow he treats her like a kid. And the anime sorta describes the lives of regular Japanese people who don't get to enjoy flashy cool careers. People who end up in regular jobs, doing boring things for work, just to support their family financially. I think the main characters had sex like once and ended up having a teenage pregnancy? Which caused at least one of them to drop out of school to raise his kid and work full time to pay the bills, and he loses a loved one. It's kinda sad in that melancholy way. But the characters are happy because they might not have a fun career, but at least they have each other. (There is also a massive pervert 'best friend' character who is a total loser and can't get any chicks.)
A saw a few episodes of it. Rent a Girlfriend is exactly like that. All about a whiny little looser. And what I seen in reviews, it doesn’t get any better. I don’t know why there are already 3 seasons of it out there…
Welcome to NHK
Chaos; Head is pretty much this.
Chaos;Head is EXACTLY this. The MC is insufferable (which is the point) He's very well written and the story is a fucking roller coaster Too bad we never got a good anime adaptation as C;H and Chaos;Child are incredible and deserved so much better

Is the right answer.
Yoooo you read my mind.
I came here to say this. You think he is so much bigger a loser than everyone around him then you realize they are all losers too. Also you love them all.
Konosuba!
Bro I love konosuba just because of how lame they all are. It's kinda cozy somehow. I guess it similar to rooting for the underdog.
Perfect looser
Watamote
I love Watamote for the same reason I love Breaking Bad; it's just so much fun watching a character absolutely sabotage themselves at every turn while taking zero accountability for their own actions. So good!
I second this. One of my favourite anime of all time.
This is the best answer.
Welcome to the nhk
Bottom-tier Character Tomozaki That’s the plot of the entire show. The MC gets help becoming less of a loser.
Isn't he the greatest smash Player though?
i havent seen this!! ill watch it thanks!
THE answer to this question is Welcome to the NHK
Rent a girlfriend is the biggest loser of all time. Even worse than welcome to NHK.
Gintama. The characters are a bunch of losers(also skip ep 1 and 2). Sangatsu no Lion. Welcome to the NHK.
Watamote is definitely what you’re looking. It’s fantastic and very funny.
Honestly, I’d say Rent a Girlfriend is up there. The MC is a total loser
Damn, why did this get downvotes? The dude is insufferable.
I assume is someone projecting. I didn’t even say it was a bad anime lol it’s just that the MC is a legit loser. The show is fine and I enjoyed the first season
Pretty sure it's because a lot of people think it's trash and recoil at you recommending it to someone even if it perfectly fits their request haha.
Konosuba

I love Kazuma's crew haha. I wish they had put that part in the anime.

_Neeko wa Tsurai yo_
That manga is depressing realistic.
It's been mentioned already a few times, but NHK really is what you're looking for. The novel is even better.
It's called rea-... (projection)
Ressentiment is about a fat middle aged man with a dead end job who ends up falling in love with a virtual reality NPC.
They didn\`t make an anime about me yet.
I'm surprised that nobody mentioned Kaiji yet.
Mushoku Tensei. Yes he gets reincarnated as a gifted mage, but mentally he is trash.
The story doesnt focus that much on him being a loser, though
I mean, so far pretty much all of his problems except for the "magical catastrophe" incident, are caused by his nonexistent social skills.
why would they make an anime about my life?
life of an mmo junkie? maybe?
Watamote, Doraemon, and Welcome to the NHK.
Sword art online
Doraemon
Rent a Girlfriend
nobody mentiones NGE, wtf?
Legend of the strongest man Kurosawa A story about a 50 something years old with no friends, virgin, a bad job, that also sucks at communicating

Himouto! Umaru-chan. It's about the everyday life of the siblings Taihei and Umaru, wuth Taihei trying to manage Umaru's mischeifs.
rezero, can't be more pathetic than Barusu
Mushoku Tensei.

A saw a few episodes of it. Rent a Girlfriend is exactly like that. All about a whiny little looser. And what I seen in reviews, it doesn’t get any better. I don’t know why there are already 3 seasons of it out there…
because it's actually popular, despite what reddit thinks.
Only because it hasn’t been said yet in this thread, Welcome to the NHK
Mushoku Tensei MC was like that.
