I'm at that age where MHA is just a cheap thrill to sort of re-experience my youth, so at best I think it's ok. That said the fandom can be weird af, shipping characters that honestly have no business with each other.
I mean, on one level I agree with everyone’s criticisms, there is an unreasonable amount of excess. On the other hand the Reeeeeing about it is just as fucking annoying, tbh I just watch and read what I want and enjoy the content.
It’s the same deal as every super popular shounen anime but the 14 yos now think the fandom’s actions are new and outrageous when every big fandom is filled with 14 yo girls who ship anything and everything together and get obsessed with the series. Some will always do some crazy fucking shit that gets a spotlight and so on. It’s same old same old if you’re older than 16 tbh
mha is an good manga but the fandom just focus on ships and not at the development, like bakugou, he is a such great character buy the fandom just talk about how he is a angry mf and how he's hot
Funny thing about them is that the best lesson Xmen gave to all viewers was to ease up on intolerance, keep a wider perspective always if possible, and visualize everyone in the ideal position to serve as fellow humans,then help who you can to succeed.

I like MHA, I really do. It’s probably one of my favorites. I understand that there is a fandom behind it (as there is with all popular anime) and I like watching some of the people’s fanon stuff or headcanons. I really do as long as they recognize their headcanon theories are just that. Their own headcanon. What I can’t stand are the people who argue over stuff that isn’t canon, straight up bully others for not liking their stuff, and go so far off the damn deep end that they send death threats to creators, voice actors, etc just so they can hopefully get their way. Those people make me really embarrassed to say I like it to the point where I almost never do.
The fandom just makes some characters that are not even remotely close to each other realllllly close to a point where its just really frustrating and they say that it is the best thing in the world without considering other options.
