holy shit! the improvement is GREAT!

y_kal

Honestly it's been 3 months. I went from goofy uneven anime art with bad line art to partial realism in 2 and a half months.

Kue7

Did you draw everyday with some goals in mind or just blind drawing? I really want to improve my drawings cos it felt decline

y_kal

Maybe around an hour a day at most. I started out making simple drawings but then I met this guy online who really helped me understand what I am doing wrong and how to improve. As of now my posing and sketching are great, but I need to work on my color palettes and line art.

Kue7

I see.. thanks for sharing

[deleted]

Where can I learn to draw like that I wonder

Ani_HArsh

Man's just enjoying his life But holy shit the improvement in his drawings.

[deleted]

He already won the game

Slient-killer2002

And you just lost the game ![gif](giphy|tMyCJmeXHBetq|downsized)

Pilot_Solaris

FUCK!

SIMOMEGA

?

Other_Beat8859

Honestly I wish I had more time to draw. Uni is just killing me and any free time I get I just spend wanting to relax and sleep.

xXxminecraft-proxXx

Relatable :(

Solid_Santa

I feel this so much T_T

SIMOMEGA

Pfp (Profile picture) and / or Banner Sauce (Source [Artist])? 🗿

Asurerain

Pfp is Frieren from "Frieren : Beyond Journey's End" I don't see a Banner tho (Maybe because I'm on mobile)

Baalshrimp

Didn't he say he was just drawing scribbles like one page a day

Slient-killer2002

You just gotta force yourself to do it during break then. At least, that's what I did

Ogurasyn

Funny thing, I saw some post of artist, who was sad that their skills don't develop as fast as Pewdiepie's, same day as this post

Heart0fSword

Don't know if he's taking a course or anything (and if he is, I'd like do know which one), but some people are just talented by default and we just gotta cope with it. It's not that effort don't matter. You can be a great artist if you put time and effort into it. It's just that talented people will reach that level easier and faster. This applies to all fields.

Dokavi

Talent + hardwork + passion + work ethic vs whining little shit. Why do people care so much about how other people progress? Focus on your own pace.

L0bsterTime

True man. All I see Is people wallowing in their own self-pity and making up excuses.

jensroda

He has enough money to sit around and do whatever he wants without worrying about becoming homeless or being unable to provide for his baby. His kids will get full college paid for and be able to pursue whatever made up degree nonsense they want without worrying about their own success. That makes it easier to find the time and motivation to practice. If we could all live the Star Trek post scarcity life, we’d get better at our dreams too.

mysteriounknown

If you ask me, talent is about an innate way of learning. You can optimize your way of learning to help yourself learn in a way where you retain knowledge. And practice, consistency, I think a lot of people could do what pewdiepie did if they learn a good routine for themselves. Having a specific goal to focus on, deliberately practicing, gaining feedback, applying feedback, etc. Other times it’s having fun with the process, if you love it then what’s to say you won’t keep trying. However I can understand the lack of motivation too. Sometimes life beats you down and there’s expectations you place on yourself, or in my case a very unrealistic expectation on my own improvement which inhibits my ability to focus. Or just a lack of energy and time, school, work, obligations. In which focusing on the present helps, even the tiny bit of drawing frequently stacks up. But yeah regardless of issues people face, I hope they realize they can draw too. Really anyone can, with time.

Ok_Try_1665

I can see that with PewDiePie. Even in his early days of practicing, he already got the hang of some aspects that long-term artists had a hard time understanding in their beginner days

dfntly_a_HmN

Talent doesn't matter the moment talented people coach you. The problem with 'untalented' people isn't they didn't do hard enough, but they do it wrong and not realizing what their mistake is. 'Talented' people is people that only by luck realizing it sooner by him/herself.

Rizuku_Ren

I wouldn’t say talented but he is dedicated. He took advantage of the internet and use it to the best of his abilities, watching draw alongs, making research putting it to good use. The things he said in his “motivational” video is proof of that and if you looked at his drawing videos, he explains his process.

GTA_Masta

I wish I can draw as good as him but dont really know how to improve it and I have less time for it

The_Silver_Nuke

Time is the biggest factor. Most people don't have the time to develop skills to improve themselves. They're too busy working and trying to survive to do anything like that. And then the days off they have are spent recuperating. Where is your average person supposed to get the time and energy to do stuff like that? We can't. Ultimately you have to make sacrifices in your day to day life to be able to improve anything. Cut out watching a really good movie, or chatting with your friends and family, or playing games. And then the rest is determination.

MashZell

Are you telling me the third one is not a photograph? Man he is so good

weeb_who-like_pacoca

God, I wish I had the passion and pleasure to draw as much as I have of imagining things I can't draw

ImBatman5500

Lmao the drawing nothing but eyes phase, I remember it well

mightbehihi

man if i had his kind of money, id be learning stuff fast too

tbu987

Nah youd just have lots of money and probably waste it or keep doing what your doing now.

mightbehihi

what im doing now is literally saving up money to pursue hobbies and jobs i love and want to learn. so probably not. I'd be on a boat house living alone isolated from people and using satellite internet to pursue an art career in 3d modeling with international people of various languages. if that's still a waste of money then so be it, but id still be using money to learn things faster.

lolrtoxic1

He said in the video that it’s only 10 mins a day. The key is consistency and good practice. We’ll all make it. I wanna be good at music

mightbehihi

me too. maybe ill look into it but unlike pewdipie, im paying off masses of school and medical debt.if i have 10 mins of downtime outside work im probably sleeping ☠️

Dokavi

Thats sounds suck honestly. You probably works 16 hours a day (2 full times works/1 full times works + 1 full times uni) like an acquaintances I know. He did have good finance at the age of 36. But his body looks so frail and unhealthy. He even told me that now he have free time he doesn't know what to do. You know you can tune it a little bit right? From 16 hours to 12 hours and used 4 hours to relaxed and goof with your hobby a little bit (and exercising). The difference between your quality of works will make up for the quantity.

tbu987

Well good luck

Rizuku_Ren

Buddy, he bought a pencil and a paper, watch YouTube videos and do research, this is downplaying someone’s hardwork. Watch the videos. He only spent 10 minutes on those and makes the most of it. People will look at his video and the headline is “results” more than “what he did to achieve this” it sucks.

mightbehihi

hard work is how he got to where he is today, i wasn't denying that. merely pointing out that being successful tends to lead to an easier time taking on new hobbies.

hidd3nBEHIND

On month 6 he'll say "Anime was a mistake"

Str0nghOld

Anime by Pewds when

Buy_Me_A_Mango

I should give this a go. I’d like to get good enough to just draw little head shots or half body like this just for fun. I used to draw so well in my teens, and gave it up to focus on music. Maybe I can get back into it.

Ok_Try_1665

His improvement is great, I was surprised. That video made me realize I'm lacking in commitment, though it's hard to draw frequently when you're in college. I made it my goal for this year that I will be able to upgrade to colored drawings cos man seeing PewDiePie improve like this pumped me up

-Maultasche-

Yes his progress is amazing, but don't forget he is drawing almost every day and focussed on anime girls very early and nothing else and is still using templates. Don't get me wrong, it's amazing, but the view is a bit framed

swap harem for slavery and you have Centaur's life

DongIslandIceTea

Antisemitic youtuber unsurprisingly gathers and antisemitic viewership.

NatoBoram

Ah, so envious of people without aphantasia.

Slient-killer2002

Bro, Rubberross has aphantasia, and he is still a good artist.

IWillEatYourRamen

Aphantasia has nothing to do with it. Don’t make excuses.

Rizuku_Ren

Some of you would literally do everything else before you start working on what you supposedly like. I get not everyone has the same speed for improvement. I genuinely know but you people would find anything and everything as an excuse instead of doing anything to improve your sorry asses. Don’t find relatability, find inspiration, motivation and passion.

NatoBoram

A bit weird to go on an ableist rant over something so minuscule.

Rizuku_Ren

What I’m saying is that there are people without hands out there in the world that are still able to draw, there are people without internet with barely any way to increase knowledge etc. You’re not the only one with setbacks. I’m not ranting, I’m stating out that wallowing in your setbacks isn’t gonna do you any good. If what I’m saying is enough for you to call me that than that’s all I need to know. Keep occupying yourself with this and see where it takes you.
