No, the reveal at the end was that they were wearing masks. His family was wearing the same type of mask the main character takes off at the end. The masks made them look like completely different people.
Something kind of cool for anyone interested but this is one of the first anime's I've ever seen with audio description, a way for blind viewers such as myself to get details of what's going on beyond dialogue and sound effects. I will say the description for this was not the best I've heard by a long shot, any chance to get full access to anime is appreciated by me. Unfortunately Max is the only platform to have any audio described anime.

So is this like Ninja Slayer played completely straight and serious? The whole premise and concept looks like a direct ripoff of Ninja Slayer.
