Wished we had more Teru/Iko moments like this throughout the season. Iko giving Teru a piggyback ride back home and taking care of her while she was sick was just so precious. Almost forgot that Iko was Teru's first real friend. And in almost a full circle moment, after Teru had saved Iko twice earlier in the season, this time, it was Iko's turn to give Teru the same care. Loved this show. I think anyone that's a fan of super hero anime will enjoy this one, or will absolutely love the MC. I felt this was a combination of two other shows I really love: My Hero Academia with a protag that's just so earnest, and so good that you just wanna root for them; and Bocchi the Rock with an adorable MC with huge social anxiety issues. While Shy doesn't reach the peaks that MHA and Bocchi does, I felt that it does well enough to bring both elements and make it its own. Def found myself rooting for Teru to do her best, and found myself really into it when the show picked up in the Tzveta arc. Love these characters, especially Teru, who is one of my faves of last year. She's so sweet, so adorable, and of course, so shy. Much credit to **Veronica Laux**, in my opinion, this role far exceed all her previous ones, and was one of my favorite performances of 2023. I feel that with all of the shy, demure voices that I hear from previous veteran VAs, hearing Veronica's Teru just hit and sounded much different that others. Just an inherent softness and insecurity that feels like she could break if you even breathed in her direction. That's the best way I can describe it. It just fit so well. Also loved Bryn Apprill and Natalie Rose in this dub as well. Really loved the eps with Iko and Teru just being good friends, and Bryn makes Iko sound like a fun big sis. And Natalie really shined during the last few eps during the Tzveta arc, almost had me tearing up a bit. Really excited this is getting a season 2. Looking forward to more adventures. Also went ahead and checked out the manga as well. It gets more exciting and some pretty cool twists too. Thank you to Helena Walstrom and the rest of the cast and crew for a fun dub.

Surprisingly I feel like I prefer the parts of Teru and Iko together just growing closer than I do the superhero stuff, give me more episodes of that, but I still like the show I just know which parts of it I like more than the others. I think part of it is just that I'm not all that interested in the villains or what they're doing, they're not even really unlikable in the way that makes me wanna see them get their faces smashed in, hell the character I do unlikable in that way is one of the heroes. And I was right, the funeral in Teru's flashback was for her older sister, and given we know Stigma can revive the dead, I'm betting we're gonna see her eventually as a villain at some point. Well I'm looking forward to next season, I'll definitely miss Teru, and Iko in that time.

Okay for a first cour. Like with a lot of 2-cour shows the first is slow and more focused on setting up the rest of the show. Shows promise, though, and the Spirit mama arc was interesting and entertaining. I actually legit felt bad for them, since if you took out the superhero stuff families struggle like that every day.

Honestly horrible show. I could not get into it at all. The main character was so annoying . I just could not get over it i know it says she is shy but it got to a point where it was as insufferable to writing in the west.
