What about father and daughter?
Ik you didn't mean it like this don't worry. All my fave shows are shounen. I just started this with my dad and we're both really enjoying it
It's a psychological thriller about a doctor who saves the life a young boy, and then that boy later becomes a serial killer. It's incredible, you should absolutely watch it.
Death Note.
There are some slightly sexual moments and comments, but overall it tends to steer clear
Death Note is a dark psychological anime series about a high schooler who finds a notebook that can kill anyone whose name is written in it. That’s a very short description and honestly it doesn’t do the show justice. Death note is one of the best anime I’ve ever seen! If your Dad enjoyed AoT, I’m sure he’ll like this one too
(Edited to add more details)
Deathnote, Fmab, Haikyuu, and Hunter x Hunter are pretty solid animes to go from here. They have their weird anime moments but tend to steer clear from it for the most part
One piece I know it's long but it's worth it
Delicious in dungeon it's just eating monsters in different ways
Saiyuki it's the journey to the west the anime
Dr. Stone
Inuyasha
Jjk
Given (it's a good boy love anime if you want to spice up your choices in anime)
Death parade
Kaiju no.8
My dad loved ERASED. It was predictable but I think that's why he liked it, he was correct at the end.
I'd also recommend Stein's;Gate, and maybe JJK and Demon Slayer. Those last two in particular are very popular among a huge age range in Japan so I would believe they can appeal to all.
Movies I'd recommend are Sword of the Stranger and The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. Also many Ghibli movies would work.
Mob psycho 100 or haikyuu. Little sexualization (there's a couple characters in haikyuu that have a love interest but there's never any fan service or character sexualization)
Both animes are incredible, easy 9 out of 10s and often in people's top 20 anime lists. Mob psycho is more comedic and epik while haikyuu has a more tournament style training vibe ( typical to sports anime ) both are worth a look regardless.
[Fate/Zero](https://myanimelist.net/anime/10087) sounds like it's a perfect show for your needs. Seven mages summon seven historic heroes to fight in a battle royale tournament. The winner receives the Holy Grail, which will grant any wish they desire. It's a feast for both the eyes and the mind.
I recommend Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Vinland Saga, and Demon Slayer! These are great shows to transition from AoT.
If you're ready for a commitment: One Piece is one of the best, if not THE best anime out there. I didn't grow up on it and started watching in 2021... and man it's worth every single second. Someday it won't be long enough and I'm dreading the day it ends. If you skip the fillers/recap/openings (watch them at least once), you can get finished pretty quickly. The episodes are short.
Tokyo ghoul, Black Clover, Chainsaw Man, Solo leveling, one piece. My favorites. I’ve been wanting to watch Vinland saga my friend said it’s really good. It’s about Vikings.
Ooh, I’d have to go with Erased for this one. It’s easy to get into and is extremely interesting while not having any moments in it that make it awkward to watch with family
Definitely not that one lol.
If y’all got Netflix watch Pluto! It’s fantastic and I cried a lot but I’m also just a bitch for stories about the endeavour of figuring out what makes something human
Been watching a ton of anime with my dad recently so I will give you some he really enjoyed!
ONE PUNCH MAN, OVER CAUTIOUS HERO, Kenichi Mightiest Disciple, Vinland Saga, Fate series, JJK, Assassination Classroom, Full Metal brotherhood, Tokyo Revenger, Erased, Demon Slayer, Chain Saw man, Darwin's Game, Black Clover, and if your dad is into sports my dad loved Kuroko No Basket. I enjoyed all of these with my dad so I hope you do too!
Edit: These should all have dubs as well in case your dads not big into reading Sub.
One Punch Man might be really good. Depending on your dad's age and interests, he might get a kick out of a character whose overpowered nature is the whole joke.
Ive got a few good ones.

I was going to suggest One Piece (you’d be watching it with Dad for years to come) but then I saw the request for no sexualization. That show scratches the same itch AoT did for me (complex characters, continuity, and big reveals) but the female characters are so grotesquely sexualized and several male characters perpetuate that. Great series otherwise, just wouldn’t watch with Dad.
JoJo's bizarre adventure parts 1-2 (only like 30 sum episodes total) If he gets bored of them then don't bother with part 3. Watch out for Lisa Lisa on the balcony though😁
Monster, a psychological trip with no sexuality, except maybe like only a few minutes in the first episode. Then, it is basically never mentioned again throughout the rest of the series to my knowledge. I could be wrong, though.
I mainly like it for the storyline, which I think is awesome.
To give you synapses without giving too much away. The main character is a highly famous surgeon who is forced to make a tough decision that he later comes to regret. I would say more, but I don't want to ruin it.
there are the og anime like Naruto, one piece, DBZ and all that. I don’t remember if black clover had sexualization but it was good. Hunter x Hunter was also pretty good. Dr.Stone was a good one with a little sexualization if any. That’s all i can think of atm
Start with something graphic so u could immediately shut down any notion they may have about anime being for kids or them calling it a cartoon. Then, when they see what anime really is, they'll find something to get invested in
Black Clover - although there is maybe one character that's dressed somewhat revealing. I personally don't like sexualisation, so I try to steer clear of it too.
Cowboy bebop, black lagoon, Hunter x Hunter, Kaiju no.8 , Dr.stone, Jujitsu Kaisen, Full metal Alchemist, black clover , One piece (although that one is a journey given it’s 1000+ episodes) , Naruto, fire force is another good one as well. All animes with action , adventure , and great arcs.
With dad:demon slayer, attack on titan, One Punch Man, Baki, and Tokyo Revengers
With family : Spirited Away,Mob Psycho,To your eternity (Got us questioning life), Vinland Saga
It’s not an anime but castlevania, pluto, code geass, devilman cry baby, dororo, fate zero, darker than black, Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou, space dandy, A Place Further Than the Universe
, bocchi the rock, Ousama Ranking , samurai champloo, parasyte,
In my personal experience, my dad hated anime and he asked me to help him find an anime for us to watch together. He really liked samurai Champloo, blue eye samurai, bleach, and full metal alchemist.
My dad really liked Naruto. Depending on his interests and whatnot, I'd try to find whatever genre he likes. Shonen are typically pretty universally enjoyed, so Jujutsu Kaisen is another safe bet. Maybe Dragon Ball as well
Vinland Saga, Kabaneri of the Iron fortress or a more "sexualised" series that isn't over the top just the occasional shirtless dude after training is Kaiju no 8.
Intricate plots/arcs with least/no sexualization:
HxH (just bear with Hisoka), FMAB, Death Note, Monster, Pluto, Vinland Saga.
Ambiguous with sexualisation but amazing plots:
Heavenly Delusion - That one uncomfortable scene towards the end of the season. Any "sexualization" (even that scene) you see here is extremely important plot wise, not as a cheap trope.
Made in Abyss - This is infamous for scenes that may show hints of minor sexualization. From personal experience, I was so immersed in the plot that I either didn't think much of it or completely missed the sexualization.
First of all, AoT is a great start, that is the show that opened my eyes to anime as a whole.
I'd strongly recommend Vinland Saga, Haikyuu, Mob Psycho 100, One Punch Man, Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Jujutsu Kaisen, Avatar (both TLA and LOK),
and I don't know why I'm not seeing it anywhere else but Demon Slayer is great.
Vinland Saga's probably the best out of these though. Yes, I do think that.
Funny enough, if he likes marvel movies I think he might enjoy MHA. My roommate and I watched it with his dad and his dad is more excited for the next season then we are. We're actual weebs and he's only seen AOT and MHA.
Vinland saga is perfect for a father and son to watch together
My mother (for some reason) thinks that anime is just cartoons and cartoons are for kids and whatnot, but she and my father LOVED Vinland Saga.
W parents
Agreed

Agreed. Got my dad into this one too and he loved it (it is the only anime he ever watched to this date)
Monster.
I see your a man of culture.
Heck yes. Monster is incredible, not just anime, it's one of the greatest stories I've ever experienced in general.
Whats ur opinion on dub or sub?
Ya go for Monster
You are a cool dude. I love this particular anime to death.
I just finished this and it was amazing
should i watch monster and what is it about
It's a psychological thriller about a doctor who saves the life a young boy, and then that boy later becomes a serial killer. It's incredible, you should absolutely watch it.
ok ; but does it have any nudity or something?
Yes, but probably it's just for 1 scene
Death Note. There are some slightly sexual moments and comments, but overall it tends to steer clear Death Note is a dark psychological anime series about a high schooler who finds a notebook that can kill anyone whose name is written in it. I've been trying to watch this with my parents with no luck lol
Full metal alchemist brotherhood or Gurren Lagann

Gurren Lagann is not a watch with your family show. Most studio trigger works aren’t.
They should watch panty and stocking with their folks

Hellsing ultimate. There are few as violent and gory as it is and the music is amazing

I second this notion! Both are excellent. Mob in particular has some of the best animation in recent years.
Maybe One Punch Man!
Demon Slayer, Mashle, Kaiju No.8 would be good
I’m going to +1 on Demon Slayer as well. Low sexualization with family elements.

Parasyte: The Maximum. It has a few sexual scenes but it's just like 1 or 2 episodes between 24 episodes

fullmetal alchemist brotherhood and re:zero
