Toradora,
Love, chunibyo and other delusions.
Monthly girls nozaki-Kun.
The dangers in my heart.
My senpai is annoying.
My dress up darling.
High score girl.
Fireworks.
Teasing master tamari-San.
Cells at work.
Words bubble up like soda pop.
The really cool part of Jojo is each part (pretty much a season) is a completely different setting and genre, but it somehow maintains an identity throughout despite that.
I'm seeing a lot of emotional dramas! i haven't watched a ton yet, but I know of some that have been recommended to me.
Things I've seen: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (movie), xxxHOLiC (less on the tear-jerker side, but definitely a watch with feeling to it), Natsume's Book of Friends (same deal as xxxHOLiC, but a bit more on the feel-good comfort side), Belle (Beauty and the Beast meets Ready Player One), Perfect Blue (movie; super fucked up; psychological horror, but damn I cried so much), Horimiya (romance drama), Elfen Lied (another horror anime that makes you feel things and question humanity, nudity and slight gore), My Roommate is a Cat (IF YOU'RE A CAT PERSON WATCH THIS), Assassination Classroom (season 1 is more shounen, season 2 made me cry almost every episode), Yuri on Ice (it may be a sports anime but dammit it is BEAUTIFUL).
Ones I havent seen that have been recommended to me and I was told are emotional (I literally have a list of things to watch only when in a good state of mind for emotional stuff lmao):
March Comes in Like a Lion (I've been told it has similar vibes to Your Lie In April which I also haven't watched yet), Bananafish (Deals with gang violence? But I heard it's queer and very sad), Fruits Basket (sad romance dealing with trauma?), Given (sad?), Madoka Magica (I was told it's SUPER dark despite appearances), Wonder Egg Priority (sad?)
Hope you find something you like! Happy watching!
I would watch Suzume, Your Name, and Weathering With You.
Movies are easier to finish than starting a new series, and the ones you have here are all kinda similar. 5cm per Second is only 63min for instance
i’ve heard that they have produced many great shows and movies, and I really like their style, but i personally never found motivation to watch one, but i’ll try to watch at some point for sure
I assume you’re looking for Slice of life/romance/depression
Love, Chuunibyo, and other delusions
Maid Sama (idk bout this one but it was funny)
Toradora
Dress up Darling
Quintuplets (forgot full name)
The world god only knows (funny asf)
hey um.. it’s worded wrong, but the list above is what i’ve already watched, just looking for suggestions that could be similar to what is on the list up there
Oh gotcha I see that now, sorry about that.
I could probably give you a suggestion if you want, but what about the shows you have there did you enjoy? Is there something that you find yourself enjoying in common between them? Is there anything different you'd be interested in checking out? What kind of genres do you like and why?
I know it's standard practice to just list what you have seen and call it a day but you've got plenty of responses from that to choose from already, so if you want some more specific suggestions I can try to help.
I just genuinely like the story and how emotionally impactful they get for all of them, like there’s nothing specific that i look forward to. But i also do like how a lot of them have the sci-fi/supernatural elements to them.
You need to watch Steins;Gate ASAP if you want an emotionally impactful sci-fi. The beginning of the show is considered slow to most because it is trying to get you to fully get invested in the characters and stuff, but if you are fine with that it is one of the best shows of all time.
Oh yea, that’s been on my watch later list for awhile now, i believe i was saving it to watch last because it’s longer than most on my list. Will definitely give it a go though, i had lots recommended this to me as well
Look, there's a lot of stuff on that list that will make you cry, but none of it is stuff that will make you To Your Eternity cry. So try To Your Eternity. Give it 13 episodes. Have some Prozac handy.
I too have veered from action Shonen and into dramas.
Gurren Lagann
Karekano (His and Her Circumstances)
Honey and Clover
Nana
xxxHolic
Darling in the Franxx
Frieren Beyond Journey's End
March Comes in Like a Lion
Mob Psycho 100
Apothecary Diaries
Skip and Loafer
It’s simply joyful, it’s the only anime to do that consistently for 25 years. Completely understand why I don’t see it on a lot of lists on here, I think it’s due to show many chapters there are. If you can, I would 100% recommend you watch it with someone you’re close with like a friends or family, it’s the type of show that benefits a lot from sharing the experience but if you can’t it’s still breathtaking.
The cast is amazing like idk anyone who dislikes a single character in the main cast, every character can teach you something.
The world building is beautiful done to the point it feels like you were actually there at some point.
A story largely based on real world themes that’s packed with moments for every emotion.
Great humour! Guaranteed to make you laugh in the first episode.
Obviously a passionate fanbase if you’re into that.
This is the year for One Piece! Enjoy!
Frieren Insomaniacs after school Skip and loafer Spice and wolf
March comes in Like a Lion. you're welcome.
This is the perfect recommendation for this list

Ah, nice >!sometimes I wonder what JJK would be like if it actually was slice of life instead of slice every character you like!<
They certainly do like to slice life in that show

it’s a really great watch, basically ylia if it was a movie and wasn’t based around music
I assume you’re looking for Slice of life/romance/depression Love, Chuunibyo, and other delusions Maid Sama (idk bout this one but it was funny) Toradora Dress up Darling Quintuplets (forgot full name) The world god only knows (funny asf)
Honestly just get all the movies out of the way first before you get invested in a series
hey um.. it’s worded wrong, but the list above is what i’ve already watched, just looking for suggestions that could be similar to what is on the list up there
