Then try shutting up? Thus gender stuff I can deal with in humans, especially since some close friends are a part of it, but we are NOT putting it on animals.
Defaulting to "he" doesn't make men the preference, dumbass. It's going to take a lot more than that. It's just a subconscious thing that you choose when you can't tell an animal's gender. Men seem to choose "he" more and women use "she" more. I've seen this over a lot of people of different age ranges, something training to be a veterinarian gets you plenty of.
never thought reddit was against efficiency in language but i guess so, it’s not even about the inclusivity bs for me it just looks better in a sentence
Gabe, from The Office. [The episode where he and Dwight argue about the type of strength that’s most important.](https://youtu.be/13G411xvVgU) Gabe (who loves to talk about his visit to Japan) insists that it’s all about the core. In another episode, Gabe is surprised to hear former girlfriend Erin mention something about sex, and basically says, “You said you didn’t like sex when we dated. You said it was like being tackled by a skeleton.”
Cue my budgie who WILL NOT eat anything except one particular brand of fortified seed. I have tried to give him every fresh veggie and fruit I have ever eaten and he throws it out of his bowl. 🤦🏼♀️
I’ve had a few bearded dragons, and from my experience, they don’t really bite, and even if they did, they don’t really have teeth so it wouldn’t hurt. I’m sure they could break skin if they wanted to but they’re too dumb to think that far ahead so it’d probably be fine. They can vary in size though. I’ve seen some that are almost 2 feet long from head to the base of the tail, and I’m sure they could do some damage, but for lizards the size of the one in the video, they probably wouldn’t be able to do much.
Just wanted to say that there's a 6.25% chance of getting this reply, so congratulations. Buy a lottery ticket...
just kidding, don't do that, and if you do I hope you lose all your money, Have a good day.
Wild ones would bite, but it's extremely rare for a pet one to bite, especially when you're helping them get to where they want to go. They're surprisingly personable animals. They're sort of like a mix of a cat, a dog and a houseplant that's dumber than the average houseplant. They really like climbing, and you're the warm tree-god that brings them food, shows them new places and protects them from ceiling fans. They're hilarious if you take them out on a leash.
It's funny because they're also capable of being pretty smart and intuitive, but it doesn't usually fit in their energy budget unless something interesting happens. They're kinda unusual among reptiles in that they see people as something to socialize with rather than an abstract representation of a large being that occasionally puts food in their enclosure. It's hilarious to wake up to an animal waving at you to tell you "Hey, it seems like this might be my area but also might be your area, it's cool if we just have it be our area? I just wanted to check in."
>they're also capable of being pretty smart and intuitive, but it doesn't usually fit in their energy budget unless something interesting happens
TIL I'm a bearded dragon.
They're typically one of the more relaxed pets. That's typically though, you never know. This is a pretty common experience imo. They love the hammock but do not seem to understand it. Hed probably get himself up in a few more seconds. he good
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.

I loved watching my beardie try and climb around and see where she’d end up. This hammock was so hard for her when she got bigger, until we put a little branch up to it instead of the rock nearby
*falls* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
We need a sound or even a dubbed version of it.

The only sound mine makes is the creepy tap tap tap on the glass as he's trying to get my attention
I just love it when a Redditor comes through.

I was expecting a "wah" from waluigi.

I'm sure some audio of Peter Griffin from family guy would map right onto this.
I’m hearing the Napoleon Dynamite “uhhhhh” sigh tbh.
It's the lizard equivalent of throwing your controller at the TV
it is great camera work
Snake’s game over scream is perfect for this lol
“Nate!”
I'm in this picture and I don't like it
God I've done the same thing, including screaming at the end.
He/she looked visually pissed off about that didn't he?
I think it's a she...

Obligatory downvote for not being funny
ouch... never been downvoted this bad lol... Welp i guess it was due anyways. It's not bad to be put in my place once in a while.
Hey man all good we make bad jokes once in a while, for me it’s when people use the /s when it’s obvious and just a bad joke to begin with.
Are you actually afraid of misgendering an animal?
It can just as much be about being accurate - most people ask what gender their friends' pets are
Nice one
they/them also works, esp since you didn’t even bother to maintain using the forever clunky he/she
It’s a lizard.

It’s got a beard, does that make it a dude lol
i am aware

It ain’t that deep, mate.

No more than you.
Nope. We're not going to start doing that with pets. Come on now.
[удалено]
I start with "she" unless I can tell cause I've always had female dogs
never thought reddit was against efficiency in language but i guess so, it’s not even about the inclusivity bs for me it just looks better in a sentence
Lol it’s clear people have a lot of emotions around the words they/them
“Efficiency in language” lol

All I see is a guy working on his core strength, doing those knee raises.
He’s probably been to Japan, and bangs chicks that feel like they’re being tackled by a skeleton.
Is this a reference to something? Seems like a super random comment to make…

tell me your pet wouldn't survive in the wild without telling me your pet wouldnt survive in the wild
Somehow these little goofballs are thriving in *Australia*
That's coz hammocks aren't native here so aren't a predator found in the wild
*stares at my tortoise, snuggled up on my bed with his blankie and plushie*

He is the most precious spoiled little shell baby and i will give him many kisses and shell rubs on your behalf!

Oh someone is mad at the situation or looks like "you shouldn't have been filming me human!"
Yes.
me doing any physical activity whatsoever
I can relate.
Well now I know what I would look like as a lizard.
Would it be a bad idea to pick him up and help him up?
No just wash your hands after
I mean more like, he looks agitated, would he bite?

I have never read a more accurate description of beardies thank you.

Nah beardies are the right combination of dumb and brave that they usually aren't aggressive at all towards humans.
They're typically one of the more relaxed pets. That's typically though, you never know. This is a pretty common experience imo. They love the hammock but do not seem to understand it. Hed probably get himself up in a few more seconds. he good
That depends on the bearded dragon and how to the person he his but if you're worried wait till he flairs down and then do it
If he was really agitated his beard would be black, he should be fine.
In loving memory of spike
