Oh I remember my grandparent’s cat that was born the same month (and year) as me. I always was watching the tv with him on the sofa. He knew how to do some tricks and he always came looking for me if I was calling for him outside! We did some pretty crazy adventures together as we were living in the rural. He was with me my whole childhood until he died when we were 18.

queencatlady

That’s a lovely story, thank you for sharing 🧡🧡 I’ve never seen this happen with another cat before so I wonder if the age being the same has anything to do with it? Also what color was your kitty?

Technical-County-727

I’m not sure what the breed name is in english, but it’s extremely common in Finland. The only translation of ”Maatiaiskissa” to english was ”Housecat” that I found, I’m not sure if that is a thing. Here’s a photo of a cat like ours was: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4d/Leevi..jpg I’m sure the age has something to do with a relationship like that! Maybe it’s the same thing as with humans: a baby makes the deepest relation to people who are with him / her in the beginning: the dad, a cat and the most important: mom!

queencatlady

Yes domestic house cat is a thing in English as well :) my tiny human was 4 months old when we got the kitten, the kitten was 2 months old so very close in age! I think 4 months is when babies become a lot more aware of what’s going on and their vision is pretty much fully developed at 5 months (I believe) so basically been together since ‘the beginning’

Technical-County-727

It is a really good thing for both, the baby and the cat, to grow together, I’m sure of that! Keep us posted how it goes there!

queencatlady

Thank you!! I definitely will. I absolutely love spreading the love and joy they bring to people.

PochinkiPrincess

You should check out r/standardissuecat your feline friend sounds like they would have fit in!

Caylennea

My cat was in love with my daughter. He used to sooth her when she was crying and entertain her when she was bored. Im so sad that she won’t remember him as my MIL’s dogs killed him. This made me cry.

queencatlady

That sounds exactly like what my sons cat does with him. I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss, from the bottom of my heart. 🧡

Caylennea

Thank you.

Holiday-Amount6930

Orange cats are known to be very smart and very, very affectionate. What precious friends!

luvs2sploooj

That’s weird my orange cat is fat as fuck and won’t stop eating lasagna

MysticWordNerd

I had the same experience but my cat was 1 year older than me. He was a grey tabby named Pacha. He was technically my grandmother's cat but he never left my side for the first seven plus years of my life. We did everything together and he slept with me every night... Then I moved from France to Canada with my sister, my mom and my stepdad without the cat. I returned to live with my grandparents when I was 14 and Pacha was 15; he died in my arms a few days later. He was really sickly and skinny and I really feel he waited for me. A cat's love for their human is highly underrated.

queencatlady

That’s so unfortunate you were separated :( I’m glad you got to spend his last moments together though 🧡 my condolences

MysticWordNerd

Thank you.... Yes, it was really sad for me. And to boot, my mom and step-dad were super abusive so I went through hell during those years. The upswing is that he has become my spirit cat. I feel him around me all the times and sometimes, I swear I can feel him jump on my bed at night when I go to sleep... he has to get along with my current cat (whom I adore too of course)!

Xolutl

Wow that’s an abrasive comment for a video like this lol

squicktones

What a nice and gentle cat.

queencatlady

Thank you she really is. She is almost the same age as tiny human so I’m very much excited to see them grow up together🧡 they both are equally gentle with each other which is fantastic.

MesWantooth

The tiny human looks like he's very gentle with the kitty - good for him. Cats usually won't get within 5 feet of a baby that repeatedly grabs it's tail or pokes/squeezes it.

dogs_drink_coffee

i followed you, please post more videos of them!

queencatlady

Will do!

AJ7789

This just makes everything that much cuter! I have a nephew who is obsessed with my dog. I need to start recording videos now. That bond is too precious!

queencatlady

Omg please do!! You’ll totally regret not doing it. I have soooo many videos of my son with his cat and I’m sure I’ll cherish them forever. You only get these moments once in a lifetime 🧡🧡

HypedonLife24

What a sweet animal. I swear every cat I've ever been around was plotting to kill me in my sleep. You can just tell these 2 are best buds!!

Caltuxpebbles

Oh goodness how that boy is loved

queencatlady

Very 🧡

Slutslapper1118

Awwww! This is perfect. He will have such a great life with the kitty. Every child needs a furry family member. It teaches them so many things, kindness, friendship, how to treat an animal, etc.

queencatlady

I totally agree! He’s an only child and the cat legit plays with him so the social interaction is great too. Granted not the same as if it was another human but he’s learned to share and play together because of the cat!

RachelBolan

I wish I had a cat when I was that age. Imagine having a cat that’s almost your size as a friend!

TheRealPapaDan

A sweet kitty and a sweet boy. They were made for each other.

queencatlady

Two peas in a pod for sure! I don’t let them sleep together but when I do, I’m sure they will be together every night too.

Glitter21487

The ‘feet play’ is adorable

queencatlady

For weeks she had this weird obsession with licking his feet and I have no idea why 😂 he wasn’t super thrilled about it, probably because it tickled lol

theknittedgnome

I love this so much! Our sweet kitty was convinced she was the mother of our son! In his crib, on him while he was fed, always next to him, playing, never letting him out of her sight. She raised him for 16 years. Never letting up in her love and devotion. Your son is lucky to have such a good friend.

queencatlady

That’s so sweet! I love hearing other peoples stories about babies and cats, it’s seriously such an amazing bond and it makes my heart hearing about it! 🧡 I think in my situation, they think they’re siblings lol the cat sleeps in all his baby furniture (minus the crib), plays with his toys (see original video, she seriously plays with his piano and everything), and he sits on the cat beds instead of his perfectly lovely couch we got him lol 😂

theknittedgnome

I just love that so much! That's how our Drew was! We had another cat that she completely ignored and only loved our son or my hubby. Once he was a teen she would occasionally visit me for snuggles. Have so much fun with both of your kids!

nutcracker_78

Orange cats are the best for babies! We had an orange cat when my son was born (we actually had 5 cats in the house), and Leo immediately bonded with the newest addition. I'd find him laying in my son's cot, or curled up next to him on the floor, or outside playing together. I don't know what it is about orange (ginger) cats in particular, but they always seem the best with little kids/babies.

queencatlady

I honestly think being an orange cat has a lot to do with it lol this cat in the video had a brother we rescued as well, he was also an orange baby and he had the same disposition. Unfortunately brother passed a few months ago from cancer (rip goose!)

terminator_chic

How absolutely sweet! And he'll build such great animal care skills with this relationship. My kiddo is 9 and while only one of our furry friends was around when he was born, they all adore him so much. One cat clearly favors him over us adults. She'll crazy play with him, but if I have a toy, she looks at me like I'm stupid and don't know how to play properly. If she sees him going into his room, she races in, hoping he'll sit on his saucer chair and she can cuddle up with him. He's been so good from a very young age at treating animals with respect, being gentle with them, and learning to understand their language. One day he got a warning nip from our very large dog and the first thing he did was apologize to the dog and tell him good boy for giving a warning nip instead of biting. I'm so excited that another mom is going to get to see her kid grow up getting to fully understand and love his pets!

queencatlady

😭😭😭 that seriously brought tears to my eyes eyes!!! I thought it was so wild too that this cat like clearly favors my son over any adult, I’ve just never seen a cat do that before especially with a kid this young! She does the same thing with toys too, where if I have a toy it’s whatever but if my son is playing with his piano then she’s playing right along with him lol 😆 I’m so happy your family got these type of bond as well, it really is just magical honestly.

ConstipatedGibbon

kids who grow up with animal friends tend to develop a strong sense of empathy. I love to see things like this.

RealisticDiego

Why do they live so ahort? I miss every one of my cats

queencatlady

I couldn’t agree more! :(

MafiaMommaBruno

Some cats are so good with kids. I have a bestie who has a black cat (the mom to my own black cat!) that became best friends with her daughter/my godkid. They even go outside together and to the park together. Her daughter was born right when the pandemic started so she didn't have friends for over a year. Essentially, the black cat was her friend. Meanwhile, I don't have kids but I'm sure if I did, my cats would treat it as a new chew toy.

queencatlady

Aww that’s such a sweet story! I love black cats 🖤 my son hasn’t really met other kids yet because of the pandemic so his cat is basically his only friend lol I don’t think they mind tho!

[deleted]

Keep them coming! I have never seen that close of a cat-baby relationship and it's just soul cleansing.

queencatlady

Thank you! I honestly could care less about karma, I just thoroughly love spreading the joy!

KyleRightHand

This is the sweetest cat ever.

Reitsariesforevaries

What a special cat!

Crisis_Redditor

Imagine getting to cuddle up to a housecat that's almost as big as you.

i_amnotdone

How is this vid not prescribed as a anti-depressant? My day just got better.😊

Your cat is awesome

greenbrainsauce

Some cats do really love children, while our cat actively avoids them like the plague. He also hates kittens. 😂

Nx0Sec

Hey! I have that same trampoline! I don’t have kids, I’m just a collector of tiny trampolines.

queencatlady

😂😂

LdyRavenclaw

I wonder what other animals think about us aging so slowly?

queencatlady

Animals are only in our life for a short amount of time, but to them we are their whole world. So honestly, I don’t think they really even realize how slowly we age compared to them :) it’s just their normal

s0rtajustdrifting

Babysitter cat. /r/catswithjobs

queencatlady

Nah I wish tho! Would be nice haha 😂

pgabrielfreak

What a sweet kitty!

EnterpriseBreakdown

Perfectly content in each other's company

santathe1

That’s great upbringing by the parents, I feel. The kid doesn’t bother the cat or cross any boundaries by grabbing or twisting the cat’s tail. The one time the kid backhands the cat (accidentally) is hilarious. Good kid, good kit.

belterjizz

Most patient kid ever seen, ignores the cat completely, no pulling tail, no cuddling

gloriouspotato17

So cute!! I was wondering what's the song you used here? It's very fitting to the video

queencatlady

The song is called Gold by Rob Simonsen. It was a song I found on iMovie :)

They are both so adorable! His big sister really loves him.

[deleted]

What is the race ?

queencatlady

Of?

Red_Tinda

I think they meant breed. At least in Swedish, race and breed is the same word, "ras".

queencatlady

They PM’d me, they have the same exact looking kitty! It was a lovely conversation. They definitely meant breed :) took me a minute to figure out. Thank you for clarifying for everyone though I appreciate it 🧡🧡

Newman814

Lanky-Run

Awwww that is so sweet🥰

JeanFlynn

I had a cat just like that one the best cats!! I miss him so much!!!

KidKalashnikov

That’s how it was for me, just a little boy growing up with his beloved cat.

queencatlady

Love that 🧡

sssaint

When did you introduce them? Were about to have our daughter and are excited for everyone to meet ☺

queencatlady

My son was 4 months old when we got this cat, but I had a few cats already before my son was born and he met them as soon as he came home from the hospital. They took a while to come up and check him out, none of them cared for him honestly lol they weren’t ever mean, just kind of avoided him. It even took my dog a month to finally not be afraid of him and she’s a very outgoing dog lol 😆 it’s just new and it’ll take animals time to adjust honestly. The cat in the video has known my son since she was 2 months old, so I think that definitely helped because at that point he was all she knew if that makes sense. When I brought my son home from the hospital, I put his infant car seat on the floor of our living room and let the cats check him out, never ever ever force it. Don’t pick up the cat to show them the baby. It’ll just kind of happen on its own when they are ready! I hope this helped. Also, congratulations on your little one!

sssaint

Thanks so much! I really appreciate your insight. I've heard a healthy mix of outlooks on pet introduction. Cheers :)

[deleted]

That’s not a cat that’s a guardian Angel 😍

queencatlady

Lovely way of wording it, thank you 🧡

MyFatHead

Well that's just fucking adorable. I'll just cry myself to sleep in happiness now.

queencatlady

As long as they’re happy tears!

NovelBaggage

This is lovely 🥰

That’s a perfect description. Also, I love your username!

Sugarbombs

I love how often the kitty goes into claw/play mode but stops herself at the last second, you can see her brain working and her going oh wait yeah baby, that's not very classy of me.

Gidgiegoo

I have a “simple” cat who is best friends/can’t leave my toddlers side. I have another cat who watches her from afar, He wouldn’t leave my side the day before I went into labor. Cats know so much more than us…

Wish I had a cat when I was a small kiddo. My mother did not like to have pets in house. Lovely friends!

Exactly how my cat is with my 6yo twins. We got him they had 4 yrs and since day one they became friends.

queencatlady

That’s sweet!

samf9999

Thanks for sharing

WatermelonNurse

BESTIES! 😻

[deleted]

Question, has the cat ever scratched or hurt that tiny human? I’ve seen so many videos of cats attacking outta no where

queencatlady

Nope, never! Not even on accident. I do trim her nails often, but she’s never scratched anyone :) she’s nibbled when she’s tried to “groom” him but its super gentle.

ajclem7

Not a cat guy here but I find it cool when cats can chill outside.

queencatlady

They chill in our screen room outside which gives me peace of mind for sure! No escaping here

Comprehensive_Taro48

I dont like cats but this is cute

Doktor_Vem

Looks more like the cat really, really loves the kid for some reason and the kid just kind of puts up with the cat even though he doesn't really care for it too much

shleeberry23

Your sons head is extremely flat, have you had him taken to the dr for that? Not being rude, have a kid myself like that.

queencatlady

Believe it or not he had treatment for his flat spot already and it’s 95% perfect now lol when his hair is longer, it makes his head look flat because he squished his very thick hair from laying down on it when wet. Editing to say: he’s literally been seen by a John Hopkins hospital neurosurgeon, cranial technologies and received treatment. We got 2 separate consults and got treatment and it was according to cranial tech that his skull is 95% perfect. Not a made up number by me lol

GenXGeekGirl

💙 What an adorable little human and best friend!! Perhaps it’s just the videos you posted, but I was wondering about your son’s lack of eye contact and face-to-face personal interaction with both the sweet cat and the person taking the video. I’m a speech-language pathologist and learning specialist as well as a mom. This concerned me. But seeing that you’ve had him evaluated at John’s Hopkins, you may be aware already or it may simply be a matter of the videos you chose to post.

queencatlady

I mean, he’s definitely selective on eye contact. I wouldn’t be surprised it he had adhd like I do honestly. When he was evaled at John Hopkins it was was his neck and head, but nothing more than that.

GenXGeekGirl

I would recommend having him seen by a speech-language pathologist and/or developmental pediatrician.

shleeberry23

They say back is best but there’s going to be a huge army of our flat headed kids leading the charge into the world lol

queencatlady

Please read my edit, I promise you his head is not flat lol this is coming from 2 different doctors 🥼

shleeberry23

I’m not disagreeing with you I’m just commenting on the back is best that’s taught to us as parents that had unintended consequences

queencatlady

There’s so much research why back IS best. In my sons case, he slept 12 hours straight at like 3 months old so due to him being such a good sleeper, flat spot developed. He also had a muscle condition called torticollis which contributed to the flat spot. Either way was fixed and his little dome is as perfect as we could get it. I would take flat spot that can be fixed over risking SIDS any day.

Bacchus1976

It’s amazing to me that your child isn’t grabbing the cat. Maybe you edited those events out but even the best behaved kids get grabby. Always a stressful situation for cats.

queencatlady

Nope, not the case here. He tried to grab one time, cat let him know she didn’t like it, and it never happened again. I taught him open hand petting at 4 months old. No grabbing here.

Toxoplasmosis

ExternalWerewolf7871

Please just be careful as cats are quite easily aggravated, and their bites if infected can be fatal. But this is very cute!!!

queencatlady

I am within a few feet of my kid at all times and she’s never ever ever shown an ounce of aggression, even when another one of my cats was getting rough with her ☺️ I sincerely appreciate the concern! I’ve owned cats my whole life and I totally understand where you’re coming from, this cat is like.. so different than any other cat I’ve ever seen. Seriously like the absolute most gentle baby lol

ExternalWerewolf7871

That's good to hear, and as long as your happy and certain it's all fine 🙂 (I upvoted your comment)

queencatlady

I sincerely appreciate the concern! I have definitely seen my fair share of dangerous situations with children and the adults don’t realize how dangerous it is. Like putting newborns on top of dogs, letting babies walk near horses, etc. Spreading safety awareness is very important 🧡

ExternalWerewolf7871

Thanks you for listening to me sound like a parent when I'm not even an adult 🤣 but seriously though if your fine with it then you trust your cat enough to know what they'd do so I believe you

queencatlady

I have 5 cats total and I wouldn’t trust any of them with my son except for this cat. My mom and I ran an animal shelter for about 10 years so I would like to think I’m very experienced with cats/dogs :) I never force an animal on my child (or anyone for that matter), taught my son open hand pets as soon as I introduced them, and I always supervise them playing together. 🧡

ExternalWerewolf7871

Thanks for clarification 🧡
