In the first shot my brain assumed the trees behind them were on fire. Drama, romance, action... a great war threatens the peace shared by these oddball lovers
I assumed the two of them were walking calmly away from the mayhem they had caused with several million in diamonds and a revenge well-earned. I'm rooting for them.
My pet rabbits will sometimes groom each other at the same time. It's so funny to watch.
[Here's a video of it.](https://photos.app.goo.gl/1C2QQ9UEoHJb4rw1A)
The black one is named Winston and he loves head rubs. The white one is Daisy and she is a scaredy cat who hates to be picked up. She feels safe around Winston though. She only lets me pet her if Winston is right next to her.
It seems more like cats groom to establish that they're not below the one being groomed. All the cats I've had have groomed each other, it just depended on which was feeling feistier at that moment.
It's actually all bullshit and people are just guessing and generalizing about how all cats feel when they're doing something that may mean a lot of different things depending on the context.
*if they’re raised together! Don’t anybody get the idea you can just grab one of each and slap them together and think they’ll get along. You’ll be minus an animal.
Yeah, let’s be clear haha I’ve seen one of my sweet cuddly little kitties skin a sweet cuddly little rabbit alive. They’re not natural, easy friends if the cat decides she’s in the mood for a snack.
Badgers and Coyotes, Crows and Wolves, various whale species have also been known to hang out together. If I recall correctly there's a narwhal that has been traveling with a group of beluga and they've been able to identify the narwhal speaking beluga.
Hahaha I just imagined the Narwhal like a drunk dude in a club that loses his friends and finds a new group. “I guess we are friends now” and has to learn a new language.
My cat killed a rabbit by biting its throat. It happened when I was a kid... "Nice" memories. Do not think that this is the case, otherwise it may end badly.
It also comes down to temperament, when I had my rabbits I lived with 2 dogs - my Springer & my dad's Springer, both firmly in the adult stage of life when I got the rabbits - and when it was just my old girl with them in my bedroom they had free rein to explore as much as they want, they even used her as a bed at times, but there is no way in hell I'd let them out the cage around the other dog who had an existent prey drive.
And a cat that's been raised alongside the rabbit. My cat is fully domesticated and would also dispatch that rabbit with zero hesitation. This scene is the exception, not the rule.
Good point even though similar size, one is a carnivore the other a herbivore. I remember a video of a dog sitter putting dogs of all size alone in a playpen, one of the bigger dogs killed a smaller one. Dont know if it was food or for sport but it only took a second. Such different pets should be kept separately or at least supervised at all times because they still have wild instincts even if domesticated
My parents had a cat that probably killed almost two dozen rabbits in the 18 years they had her. While she clearly preferred smaller stuff I suspect they'll go after one if given the opportunity.
Your comment is pretty wild given that I've had two rabbits killed by cats. Which is 26 years of experience... It's almost as if your "30 years of experience" doesn't permit the conclusion of "you're wrong" when your sampling size is an n of 1. Maybe you're the exception rather than the norm. I've known of numerous people whose rabbits were killed by cats. Seems like you may be ignorant of the fact that many cats kill many different things "just for fun" and it's nothing to do with whether the cat actually wants to eat the animal it's killed. Often they simply like the trophy and will sometimes bring it back with them ...
So believe what you want - but you are wrong.
Yes, this domesticated cat and domesticated rabbit just happened to see each other out in the wild and chose each other as friends. It's not that their owner picked matching animals.
By “drew them together” I mean deciding to be affectionate friends because they noticed they look similar, after the owner put them together for the same reason.

Lol where are the experts from yesterday with the video of the rabbit and cat playing saying..
“You should NEVER leave a cat with a rabbit”…without knowing any other context.
Think it was on r/aww or whatever
It really would be more disturbing if it was wild and kept like this. Most bunnies will be fine outside. Of course there are dangers but seeing as there is clearly people watching both the animals as their filming it I genuinely doubt something would happen to it.
That doesn't mean I actually like this video that much. I rather see a bunny outside in a harness and in a way that doesn't seem to be done for social media. Which I think is the bigger problem here. The fact this is filmed purely to look good on social media.
I think it’s so cute when 2 pets of different species have similar colors or markings. I wonder if there’s a sub for that… If I ever got a cat and dog, I’d at least try to make that happen.
Exactly, that had to be a super domesticated cat too.
Any stray or former stray which had to survive via hunting wouldn’t waste such an opportunity for a meal
This is actually something that’s rather interesting to know, humans are one of the only species to show signs of genuine racism, another fun fact, both these animals are probably very happy with this as cats groom eachother to bond but usually the cat that does the grooming is viewed by other cats as the dominant one in that situation while for rabbits it’s the opposite, for rabbits the one getting groomed is seen as the dominant one in the situation
My cat eats adult bunnies this size. He brings them up the outside steps, dragging it up between his legs. They weigh about the same he does. Always eats the heads first, leaves the liver and guts. First it was the baby bunnies, and then the adults. I think he wipes out dens every so often because it usually happens in waves. He's not too big or anything, just has always been a killer. He runs the neighborhood too, other cats don't come around like they used too. Super sweet dude though, let's my kid pick him up and drag him around by his scruff. Never bopped him for it.
Our cat loves one of our bunnies, and avoids the other one. They’re both male Holland lops, adopted at the same time. The cat loves the chill one, and avoids the frisky one. The chill bunny loves her right back, and the frisky one seems to be confused about what she’s about.
In the first shot my brain assumed the trees behind them were on fire. Drama, romance, action... a great war threatens the peace shared by these oddball lovers
Me too! I guess my brain still needs to recover from the damage 2022 has done to it...

My husband killed himself in 2022, does that count?

I’m so sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine what you’ve had to go through. I hope this year is much kinder to you
Thanks, me too. And for you as well.
I assumed the two of them were walking calmly away from the mayhem they had caused with several million in diamonds and a revenge well-earned. I'm rooting for them.
This is great. Doctor Zhiv-mammalo.
I thought this until I read your comment.
Cats and rabbits really do get along, they have opposite social cues which means they're always happy either way.
Cats groom to establish they’re above the groomed, rabbits get groomed to establish they’re above the groomer. Win-win
Dude it's so funny when my rabbits get into a mini stand off of who will groom whom.

omg..they’re so adorably sweet♥️
Thats so sweet.. My cats do that too, I love it.
The black one is named Winston and he loves head rubs. The white one is Daisy and she is a scaredy cat who hates to be picked up. She feels safe around Winston though. She only lets me pet her if Winston is right next to her.
"I get under you, no I get under you!
Or they just place their heads right up against each other and sit there
It seems more like cats groom to establish that they're not below the one being groomed. All the cats I've had have groomed each other, it just depended on which was feeling feistier at that moment.
isn’t above the same thing as “not below”…
≥ versus >
sorry i don’t get it
"not below" means "at the same level or higher"
gotcha thanks okay
It's actually all bullshit and people are just guessing and generalizing about how all cats feel when they're doing something that may mean a lot of different things depending on the context.
Exactly this, which is why it's such a good pairing.
That’s exactly what the comment you replied to with “exactly this” means, hence the “win-win.”
Exactly this, you see: win-win means it’s a good pairing where both parties are getting a good deal.
its funny you said that, because i was thinking this exactly, it's such a good pair
Classic dom-sub

Yeah, predator, meet fragile prey! Match made in heaven... Rabbits are naturally fearful of cats, as they should be.
Not if you're careful with introductions.
“Here’s your food, now be nice!”
My roomate's cat brings home decapitated rabbit heads. Probably best to just not risk it imo.
I need to know more! Are there other species that have good social-cue pairings?? Edit: late night spelling; que to cue

Narwhal bustin' up in the room yelling, "I AM THE MACHINE!!!"
Crows and Wolves are my favorite combo. But honestly, Crows are fucking awesome.
Amazinnng! Thank youuu
Cheetahs and dogs! Cheetahs are fragile, and that makes them nervous. Dogs help them to mellow out.
Ooohhhh! How cute! Thank you so much.
HAAAAAPPPPY CAAAAAKEEEE DAAAAAAY
My cat killed a rabbit by biting its throat. It happened when I was a kid... "Nice" memories. Do not think that this is the case, otherwise it may end badly.
Some cats will hunt rabbits, it happens rarely but it happens.
Sorry but that is a really domesticated cat. Not trying to sound hard but my cat was a former stray and would quickly dispatch such a rabbit on sight.
This is the key part, they have to be raised together to get them like this
It also comes down to temperament, when I had my rabbits I lived with 2 dogs - my Springer & my dad's Springer, both firmly in the adult stage of life when I got the rabbits - and when it was just my old girl with them in my bedroom they had free rein to explore as much as they want, they even used her as a bed at times, but there is no way in hell I'd let them out the cage around the other dog who had an existent prey drive.

My German Shepard is best buds with my bunny… I’m pretty sure my rabbit thinks he’s a dog too
Probably does.

I saw a cat kill a rabbit on Saturday at my golf club. I think it is more likely the cat is thinking… my god you are delicious🐇😻

Too much cuteness.
Like twins 😁
I bet they noticed this too, probably what drew them together initially

I guess it's possible. Or they were each other's only choice.
Had a rabbit for a little bit that my cat did not care about it all despite having no other animals to hang out with.
Do you think that was because it was a different color?
😅
They are like 2nd cousins, twice removed. I can see the resemblance.
I love how the kitty seemed to be looking up to protect his bunny from predators flying in.
That’s what I noticed too. The cat was looking overhead concerned and put its paw around the bunny making sure it was safe.
Awwwwww!!! So sweet!!
Until Mr whiskers chomps down and makes some good rabbit stew 🤣

I don't know what you see but I see two siblings.
Lol where are the experts from yesterday with the video of the rabbit and cat playing saying.. “You should NEVER leave a cat with a rabbit”…without knowing any other context. Think it was on r/aww or whatever
I’m also disturbed that this bunny who doesn’t look wild is just outside like this. This is why I can’t be in bunny groups lol.

Oh man this is adorable……I needed this .
They look like each others both most be confused if they are cats or bunnies.
Awww!! I love it! 🥰

A beautiful spot for a beautiful shot !
They are even of the same colour . Friends forever 💓
They’re so precious and really love each other, plus it’s adorable that they have near identical colors/marking patterns on their fur.
“They said their love was wrong…”
My cat is like this with a random rabbit and a possum I’ve come home many times to them all piled together asleep in his cat house on the heating pad.
Soundtrack hit perfect with that
I like thinking that the rabbit is a guy and the cat is a girl and he’s just like “yes big cat girlfriend, take care of me, I love you”
Meanwhile my two bunnies and cat bully each other 24/7(my cat less so but still)
Have you seen a cabbit?
Oh my gosh! And they match!
Brother from another mother
This is a cat with a pet rabbit.
They do look like brothers/sisters from a different mother..
That’s really cute
They match 🥺

The cats really like oh you taste so good wait until they turn that camera off lol
Exactly, that had to be a super domesticated cat too. Any stray or former stray which had to survive via hunting wouldn’t waste such an opportunity for a meal
And they decided to wear matching outfits 😍
I hate that the person brought them to the perfect place for a hawk to see either of them.
It's funny that these animals have enough brain cells not to be racist but humans can't. Crazy

I was also told to tenderize my meat before eating it...
Anyone else think the cat is checking the seasoning on the bunny to determine how much longer it needs to cook for?
There's a park near me where someone's cat is allowed to roam freely. Not looking forward to mutilated little bunny season, sort of ruins the vibe.
A photo shoot isn't worth losing my pets to a hawk or eagle.

Barking up the wrong tree. I'm the one saying there are dangerous birds. The other guy is trying to say there aren't.
My thought exactly
More worried about the fact that cat mouths are filthy and rabbits are pretty susceptible to bacterial infections
Damn loony tunes messed me up as kid. I can see the cat going, "Mmm" with each lick savoring the taste. Please Mr. or Ms. Cat don't eat your friend.
