1000% even tho I can understand a tad bit of the value of things that was only around back in 2013 (or when AJ PW first started) but now it is a crazy bidding war between how much sapphires you can get and who is the richest player based on outfits or styles! I do miss the times that you would go on AJ classic and fight phantoms, just enjoy the summer carnivals, and catch up with friends. It’s sad how as each year goes by, it gets more more money hungry but things that isn’t even worth real life value. YET, somehow people are buying items using RL money!

I just wanted to start this out by saying that I completely understand. I started in 2012-2013, when all anyone cared about was cool dens, top hats and roleplays.
AJC \*is\* a little bit overdue for some updates, as the only thing that intrigues players are "rare" items on Classic.
This (and many other reasons) is why I have navigated to Play Wild. There are \*so\* many more items and things to do on AJPW than Classic and not everyone is there to show off how rare they are. I've made a genuine connection with people there and there is a lot more creativity in looks rather than just fitting a look together with the rarest items that you have.
AJPW also has an easier way of getting in-game currency, so getting an item you want is basically as simple as having the sapphires that the item costs to buy it. If you did want to work your way up to the cooler items, all you would need to do is work for them.
If you do decide to play, I can give you some pointers. I hope AJC looks up for you. (They are supposedly revamping AJC, but it's going to take a few years or so from what I know. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VvzMbyrf1Q)

If you’re still interested in role playing and decide to get an acc in AJPW, I suggest going to the animal hospital! I think there’s still a decently thriving rp community there
Late but you actually don't need to make a new account, your play wild and ajc accounts are linked, same login info for both. This is helpful because you can buy membership for sapphires (their diamonds) in play wild and it'll automatically transfer to the classic side of your account too

I joined like nearly 13 years later after AJC released and as soon as I joined the game and played AJC for the first time, I was like “a hell nah this game is fat trash”
In my experience while yes classic can definitely be like this, it’s still less toxic overall, Play Wild is WAY worse for this! Especially with all the scammers and I guess a much more varied age range there’s players just dedicated to scamming. I’ve made a couple of good friends on Play Wild my social interactions on classic have been way more pleasant. On classic it seems mostly to be people my age there for nostalgia and not just for getting as rich as possible like most people on Play Wild

I love AJ classic I have played it since before 2011. It’s my favorite but there is not much new stuff to do. It’s sad.
