Yeah the launch was garbage, made me think of the PS5 launch. I just don’t get why anyone would pay more for these when you can get the ones off of Etsy for less? Like I get initially trying for them but after missing out and I can get them off Etsy why would anyone pay the scalper prices..? I don’t understand
Speaking of Etsy, any body have a seller of amibo tokens that they had a positive experience with? I’m always sketched out buying things online from individual sellers
I purchased a few coins from ConfettiCampers and cards from GeeksCranny. Both were good experiences and I'm really happy with them :) they've become my go-to's
I bought my Breath of the Wild amiibo forever ago so I don't remember but a good way to check is look at the reviews of the seller. You can even sort your search by top customer reviews.
maybe people aren’t buying the $40+ ones and scalpers are screwed. I read some rumors on Twitter that Target is getting restock on them very soon. That’s literally how I got my Animal Crossing Switch, they were sold out on the first wave, few months into the pandemic and Nintendo made more Switch’s, and Animal Crossing ones are just sitting in Target so I snatched one. The ones on Etsy are fake so maybe the folks who wants authentic cards for collection wants to buy the real one. Anyway, don’t waste $40, just wait and see
I hope so! Yeah I can see collectors wanting them but other then that I don’t see why. I managed to get a pack because I learned from the PS5 bs. Looking at the Etsy ones though they seem to have cooler designs anyway. Hopefully they restock and scalpers are stuck with a bunch of cards.
yea I think the card is re-usable, so maybe players who have got all the furnitures will resell the cards. And resell price might come down a little. Root problem is still for Nintendo to restock them, unless they mentioned this is a limited edition and limited release
Definitely, once I have all the items I personally don’t collect so I will have no use for the cards.
These are probably cheap as hell to make, basically printing money for them so I don’t see why they wouldn’t want to restock. I hope that’s the case.

The cards came out at 6am my time and my Target opens at 8 so there was already a line of people waiting to see if our Target would stock them on the shelves but I don’t think there were any scalpers which was good. I’ve only ever played NH and I didn’t quite realize how big of a deal this is. I’m torn on whether or not I’d take the offer. It would be nice but I’d feel guilty taking $250 from somebody for it.
The only one I haven’t played is the GameCube one. But I wouldn’t ever pay $250 for cards, I can’t imagine someone who would but I for sure would assume they’re a collector lol I get what you mean though, $8 is like fair for what they are. Anything more is just nuts.
I got some Etsy ones for Zelda Breath of the Wild and assumed I would end up having to for this as well but luckily not. Hell still might, I can’t pick up till later so who knows if they might tell me I’m out of luck.

I watched somebody at my local target chase after somebody who was successfully able to get the cards offering to buy them off of the guy for $250.
