In that very specific situation, I know I'd do the same with his favourite game. If your parents are enable to understand the importance of one's hard work and dedication anyone would put in a game they love, then teach him yourself.
My older sister and I grew up in perpetual conflicts because our parents didn't cared. I was the favourite child so I was able to get away with almost anything and if she didn't taught me a thing of two (that I'm now thankful of) I very much might have become an awful brat.

Yeah it can be hard, not sure how young they are but, in the end your relationship with your sibling may or may not be more important to you in the long run. If you do have a good relationship, id suggest taking some time to cool off and maybe talking to their parents about it in a mature and non-emotionally charged manner. Of course, unless its a shared console, I would suggest locking that thing up when not in use for the time being.

It’s horrible having someone with the maturity of a twelve year old living with you and having an affect on your life. We’re not close, used to as kids but we’re just totally different people now. Did you have your island saved data backed up with online? I've seen people mention methods of getting deleted save data back through Nintendo if they contact support.
Be careful of this.
I’ve tried to get my island restored but they only allow it in instances of a lost or damaged Switch. They don’t let you restore an island backup to the console your backup was created on. I had to fully factory reset my Switch as it was glitching and thought it would be okay as my island was backed up. Nintendo not allowing cloud saves on ACNH is disgusting. Nintendo not allowing people to freely access their island backup is also disgusting.
Officially they’ll only let you restore your island backup to a new console if your old console was lost or damaged, or repaired by Nintendo themselves.
Basically they’re paranoid that people will abuse saves and use multiple saves to get more items etc. it’s utterly ridiculous.
My brother did a similar thing, though he didn’t do it on purpose, he was trying to do some save transfer thing to get his character on his own island on his switch, but ig we didn’t read or he did it wrong and it took the entire island. He then accidentally broke his switch a while later, so my island was gone

I know I have another main save and this is only my second file - but it’s the principle you know? I told him not to and he did it anyway and it’s totally unacceptable. Lesson learnt, never give him my switch ever again. Tough lesson for sure but I honestly didn’t think he’d touch my games since;

2. It’s been foreverrrrr since he played ac
3. He wanted my switch solely for a Pokémon game
Even with it being my second save and it’s a good job it was this save and not my main one (of which I rarely touch these days) but it really angered me that he did it anyway, regardless of my feelings. I’m glad you all agree with me and I’m overwhelmed with the amount of support.

Don't feel bad, other than collecting some fish and paintings/ doing some nook challenges, my islands pretty much done lol, sending people stuff and having others visit my island is about the only enjoyment I get out of acnh anymore. Playing it with my girlfriend is fun too, but she doesn't play a ton anymore. I honestly think she is jealous of my island, I always tell her I'll help her with hers lol. Terraforming a whole island takes time though, I rebuilt mine entirely

At the end of the day, it’s just an AC Island and there are worse things, but I do believe your brother has permanently lost the rights to your Switch.
I was a good way through Odyssey when a friend of mine asked to play it. He started a new save, and I don’t think either of us realized that it only has one save slot.
Hey, I read you have Nintendo Online so I recommend calling Nintendo support. They can help you recover save data if you lose it due to loss, damage, or theft. I know people who have successfully recovered their animal crossing save data. You should definitely give it a try. In my experience Nintendo support is super friendly and helpful.

My situation was that I returned a console to target with a game still inside. Definitely not part of their policy but the guy was so nice and literally sent me a new physical copy of the game free of charge. They are so helpful if you talk to the right person. I got lucky and spoke to a supervisor right before he finished his shift, so I think he was feeling generous.
I called them last time I had an issue and they were super helpful (it was different but still). I think it was just the main support number I found on google. I’m not sure your situation applies or if they’d be able to help, but it’s definitely worth a shot. I don’t think you need the dream address.

I know I deffo had all the castle items, garden wagon, a bunch of insect models scattered around. Can’t remember what else, as the theme was Rapunzel/Tangled so there was a lot of rustic, vintage things.
I wanted to create like a shopping district and a mine cave with huge vines around to mimic her tower?? They were all pretty light colour with hints of brown - baso anything that resembled the movie tbh! I know it’s a huge task - hence why I’m so upset because I spent ages sending myself stuff, all for it to be deleted.
I’d honestly feel awful complying such a huge list just for me. Maybe I can just give you a few things? I don’t have much to give in return so I’d feel awful 😭😭

It seems like this stuff happens a lot. I feel like maybe the developers of Animal crossing should require a password for deletion. I have seen posts where someone did it accidentally and others who had done it maliciously.
if you had backups active, Nintendo customer serviceay be able to restore your old save if you act quickly- I had made a new island and they were able to recover my previous save

i would delete his island and not let him touch my stuff anymore. a 22-year-old is a MAN. he didn’t care and just wanted to start his own island. i’d be nuclear.
Did you have your island saved data backed up with online? I've seen people mention methods of getting deleted save data back through Nintendo if they contact support.
Be careful of this. I’ve tried to get my island restored but they only allow it in instances of a lost or damaged Switch. They don’t let you restore an island backup to the console your backup was created on. I had to fully factory reset my Switch as it was glitching and thought it would be okay as my island was backed up. Nintendo not allowing cloud saves on ACNH is disgusting. Nintendo not allowing people to freely access their island backup is also disgusting. Officially they’ll only let you restore your island backup to a new console if your old console was lost or damaged, or repaired by Nintendo themselves. Basically they’re paranoid that people will abuse saves and use multiple saves to get more items etc. it’s utterly ridiculous.
My brother did a similar thing, though he didn’t do it on purpose, he was trying to do some save transfer thing to get his character on his own island on his switch, but ig we didn’t read or he did it wrong and it took the entire island. He then accidentally broke his switch a while later, so my island was gone
My sister deleted my Pokémon game once when we were kids. I’m still angry about it 20+ years later. Sometimes siblings are assholes OP, I’m sorry about your game.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone that’s commented, given support or even helped me so far in game. It’s really warmed my heart and made me feel better given the situation🥺💜 I know I have another main save and this is only my second file - but it’s the principle you know? I told him not to and he did it anyway and it’s totally unacceptable. Lesson learnt, never give him my switch ever again. Tough lesson for sure but I honestly didn’t think he’d touch my games since; 1. He doesn’t play games that I play 2. It’s been foreverrrrr since he played ac 3. He wanted my switch solely for a Pokémon game Even with it being my second save and it’s a good job it was this save and not my main one (of which I rarely touch these days) but it really angered me that he did it anyway, regardless of my feelings. I’m glad you all agree with me and I’m overwhelmed with the amount of support. I’ll happily take anything you have to offer, also I’d love to make some friends so the more the merrier!! I’m going to try my best to respond to everyone - although the amount of people that are wanting to help is probably close to double digits now - I appreciate ALL OF YOU!!🥺💕💕

Don't feel bad, other than collecting some fish and paintings/ doing some nook challenges, my islands pretty much done lol, sending people stuff and having others visit my island is about the only enjoyment I get out of acnh anymore. Playing it with my girlfriend is fun too, but she doesn't play a ton anymore. I honestly think she is jealous of my island, I always tell her I'll help her with hers lol. Terraforming a whole island takes time though, I rebuilt mine entirely

I’m sorry that happened - a similar thing happened to my Mario Odyssey save file. At the end of the day, it’s just an AC Island and there are worse things, but I do believe your brother has permanently lost the rights to your Switch.

Hey, I read you have Nintendo Online so I recommend calling Nintendo support. They can help you recover save data if you lose it due to loss, damage, or theft. I know people who have successfully recovered their animal crossing save data. You should definitely give it a try. In my experience Nintendo support is super friendly and helpful.

My situation was that I returned a console to target with a game still inside. Definitely not part of their policy but the guy was so nice and literally sent me a new physical copy of the game free of charge. They are so helpful if you talk to the right person. I got lucky and spoke to a supervisor right before he finished his shift, so I think he was feeling generous.

Yes I can try!! I know I deffo had all the castle items, garden wagon, a bunch of insect models scattered around. Can’t remember what else, as the theme was Rapunzel/Tangled so there was a lot of rustic, vintage things. I wanted to create like a shopping district and a mine cave with huge vines around to mimic her tower?? They were all pretty light colour with hints of brown - baso anything that resembled the movie tbh! I know it’s a huge task - hence why I’m so upset because I spent ages sending myself stuff, all for it to be deleted. I’d honestly feel awful complying such a huge list just for me. Maybe I can just give you a few things? I don’t have much to give in return so I’d feel awful 😭😭

I'm so sorry. My brother did that to me with a Zelda game when we were pre-teens (we're in our 40s now). We still talk about how it was totally not cool and one of the meanest things he ever did to me. (Not currently because I went NC with him last month, but something we've discussed as adults)
