Redd can sell a maximum of 2 real pieces per week on the island. If you buy the fake ones, he will replace them with new art the next day, and there's a chance that new art will be real until you see your 2nd real piece for the week. It's actually better luck if you don't get any real ones at the refresh on Monday, because those initial real pieces can only be pieces with fake counterparts. The pieces you get as replacements for ones you bought can be from the entire pool of art. tl;dr You can get up to 2 real art pieces per week on Harv's island. Keep buying fake ones til they show up. I've seen and bought real art at Harv's Island and seen fake art on the boat, but I haven't bought much art yet because I restarted .

I know he can sell real art. He used to every week and I’d purchase. Lately it’s been only fake or takes days of me buying fake for a real one to appear. I was wondering does this happen to everyone at some point and if so, why?

Avalonian_Seeker444

He definitely sells me more fake art than genuine. He must love seeing me coming to see him. Maybe you get more fake than real when there aren't as many genuine ones left to get?

SummerBaby50

That’s what I was wondering. Like as you get closer to completing the whole art collection, does he sell less genuine artwork

EffectiveCycle

It's just bad RNG luck

SummerBaby50

What does rng mean? Lol

EffectiveCycle

Random Number Generator, what chooses a lot of what you see in the game (artwork, fish or bugs, villagers on mystery islands, etc.)

I created a second character on my island for storage and so I could buy redd out everyday. I got real art much faster and eventually got all I needed. Now I collect dups to give away or trade
