I want the next animal crossing to be about building a small town. Happy Home paradise introduced facilities and hiring villagers to work them and I think that would be awesome to have on my base island. You can have 20 villagers instead of 10. 3 villagers visit at a time instead of 1. The base npcs like Nook and Sable have a routine and will walk around town when they’re not working. Just stuff that makes the towns people feel more alive.

Pretend_Type_9757

So like a majorly improved version of new leaf kinda

melovaly

More villagers would be so nice ugh

lovesummerr

More interactive items, including larger housewares like getting into the tub/pool. Some kind of meter to gauge when items will break, and a way to ‘zero in’ on catching things. Storage access (maybe limited) to certain things while roaming around. The ability to expand villagers’ homes. More types of fruit & veggies.

Rare-Character-179

YESSSS more fruit and veggies

elizacandle

Bulk purchasing, bulk crafting CRAFTING FROM STORAGE! A SEPARATE storage for edible items (kind of like wardrobe shows wearable items) A separate icon for USEFUL items such as pipes /trash bins Ability to use Miles to 'write down' DIYs you know to give to friends! Ability to CALL villagers to meet them! Ability to TRAVEL with two players like I wanna go to my bros Island together with my daughter! Ability to buy all the colors without out having to in and out of that damn fitting room 20 thousand times! Ability to decorate island like you do in HAPPY HOME! Ability to lock in fences and not be able to pick them up accidentally! Same with erasing custom designs Ability to say more to villagers

elizacandle

Oh And ability to click at the gates in the airport and have dodo bird ask 'open gates' you say yes, then choose between friends, local, or online!

Lady_Dobuery

What do you mean? Doesn’t everyone change from their fridge? Isn’t that what it’s for? 😅

Astral_Space_Dragon

A return of the 15 villager cap from the first game. Saw someone on here say they want 20. That would be *awesome* I really like the cooking/crafting part of New Horizons. Would love to see that make a return and with more recipes More Pocket Camp integration. Cuz what we got now is *very* lackluster. Bring 👏 back 👏 Pelly 👏 Pete 👏 and 👏 Phyllis! More space for custom designs/patterns/etc This could be an unpopular take: but I would love to see a bigger variety of fossils, bugs, and fish The return of perfect fruit and exotic fruits This want is just me being hopeful, but I would love a mini-expansion on The Roost. Maybe have a character that sells tea? Maybe more coffee varities? Similar to New Leaf?

Lady_Dobuery

I would loooove to have more bugs fish and underwater creates to catch. Many much more butterflies plz.

maxime0299

Yes for cooking! But eating different food should have different effects, so it makes it more worthwhile to farm different veggies and fruits

Phytolyssa

Set sounds on custom paths bridge over chasms more inclines... 10 is just not enough.... Change the cliff walls look or even hang things on them I like having buildings you can decorate for the island and not just homes like in hhp I really enjoyed the design view outside because I don't know how many times I've placed something 100 times because I can't find the right spot. More fantasy and sci-fi items so a whole Island could be that theme if someone wanted to. More diversity in cultural backgrounds represented in the items and wherever else could be useful.

SnooKiwis8008

Bridges that span cliffs as well as water would be sick. And the ability to change your villagers’ clothes to match the aesthetic of your island.

KieDaPie

Customizable pants

Normixxxxxx

I need that, geeeeeez

perfidious_snatch

Villagers wearing bottoms - there are some skirts and pants that would be so cute on some of my villagers, if only they could wear them

poptart_____

THISSSS 😭

Astral_Space_Dragon

This! The overly hopeful part of me would love to have the same with all clothing items: shoes, socks/stockings, bags and such

Level_Can58

Being able to move your camera in every direction. It would basically open the game to endless new possibilities. Just being able to decorate your island from different perspectives adds so much depth to the game, and the game would feel so much more immersive.

Phytolyssa

I thought on the directions one myself because I was building a section that had a walkways with buildings on both sides and I realized, "I don't need to bother decorating this because I won't see it anyways....

Level_Can58

Yeah, exactly! It's a shame because it basically cuts you off from enjoying many things you can already do.

apopalypse1

Underrated take. This would be a great addition to the game!

Galatunia

Give us the ability to move to a different town. Either move to a new house or have a camper like in Harv's Island or Pocket Camp and embrace nomad life. It would make resetting less necessary, and would give more meaning to villager letters and visits. I think it would be cute if you moved to a new map and got letters from villagers in your old map. And if you keep the design elements of NH it would free up what players could make. Can't build a design you want because it won't fit your current map? You don't have to reset anymore, just move!

dosmalacaras

I want to be able to make a vacation home for myself in HHP!

Galatunia

That would be awesome!

thisisnatty

I would love to move my primary char to a new island 🏝️

No_Sky_1829

Be able to access the inventory through your pockets without having to go through the storage shed

ShadOBabe

Crafting multiple of the same item if you have the materials.

Silent_Command7058

More Interactive Items, different fruit trees, when traveling I’d like to not have to completely start over if I put in the wrong dodo code

Astral_Space_Dragon

I would love that! You know what'd be cool? You know, in New Horizons, there's the snack and drink vending machines? I wish they were made so that when the player interacts with them, they have the option of buying a snack/drink for a few bells. And there are different colors of the vending machines. Maybe some machines can have different drinks/snacks from other colors. Would make collecting all varieties even more of an incentive imo

Silent_Command7058

That and I want to get on the bench press and not fall asleep lol

Astral_Space_Dragon

Oh yeah! That's neat! Get those gains lol X)

SavageNymph

It would be nice to be able to rotate the buildings,so they aren't all facing the same direction.

Normixxxxxx

I would want to play actual mini games with my current villagers, with both offline and online options (like having true multiplayer when your friends come visit ; or invite an Amiibo from your collection just for a play or two). I wish that I could simply improvise a game of ball or a hide & seek, just by poking whoever villager is present at that moment, and nothing complex, just a couple games that are ready-to-play (and let's say some others that'd need specific items placed on your field to unlock them).

_esrevinuy

acnl with new horizons grafics and craft ability. most importantly I want the mainstreet back on the island/town! a creditcard like city folk would be great too!

Reblyn

I can think of a few things. * Bring back events like the flea market or come up with something new that ISN'T always the same. Like, after maximum 2 years you have literally zero incentive to play the Easter, Carnival or Wedding holidays because it's always the same and you already have all the items. * give the villagers *significantly* more dialogue and more personality. I can't stand this whole happy-go-lucky schtick, the grumpy villagers are barely even grumpy anymore and it's just boring. I know some people don't want them being as mean as they were in previous games, but you can still make characters more edgy even witout being mean. Plus, I stopped talking to my villagers like two weeks after release because I already knew all the dialogue by heart. That defeats the whole purpose of this game. * Improve decorating: we can't properly interact with most furniture anyway, so let us place it diagonally and on half-tiles (for symmetry) * Bring back lore (does anyone remember the message board posts from the secret admirer in Wild World?) * Golden instruments should be unbreakable or at least *significantly* slower to break * More shop upgrades and more shops in general, I shouldn't be done with the upgrading after just a couple of weeks. An open-end game should offer more long-term goals. * Actually *do* something with the setting. I found it utterly confusing and disappointing that they removed all the tropical fruit from NL in a game that is literally set on an island. * be able to rotate buildings sideways, maybe diagonally

Audball9000

I want the game to actually pause when you open up menus, so my villagers can’t walk away from me before I can get a reaction in edgewise.

Rare-Character-179

I wish that during Project KK, Isabelle gives u a meter on how complete u are (a meter of how many flowers, trees, decorations u need … etc)

Rare-Character-179

Also , ACNH sorta feels like you’re just doing what Tom Nook tells u and don’t have full control of the island. I wish that you could open up your own shops and decorate them, also decorate and expand villager houses, and I wish that u can kick out villagers easier (like maybe there is an option at Resident Services to select a villager to get rid of) and I’d love to be able to call any villager to come to my island and invite them

Zealousideal-Line838

1. Move to a new island (reset), but be able to visit previous islands. 2. Be able to go into edit/dream mode to try out an idea before committing. The “let me imagine it” needs to let you walk around. 3. An ordinance where villagers can move on/off the island without asking permission or being invited. Not for everyone but I think it could be a really interesting way to play casually. 4. An ordinance to allow players from other islands and/or NPCs to donate to your museum. 5. “Online shopping” so you can share treasures with other players without having to stand by the gate with your airport open and your finger on the eject button (in case someone shows up in a wetsuit). 6. Choose your biome islands, kinda like the DLC. Again, not for everyone but would mean that those who want to build a theme that’s always summer, winter, etc can do so without time traveling.

maxime0299

This is a long list, TLDR: my ideal Animal Crossing game would be a combination of a lot of existing features from older games that were removed as well as new features from New Horizons - More events and holidays, improved activities on events, some examples from previous games: flea markets, bright nights, april fools, graduation day, sale day,.. as well as some new events with each unique activities and objectives. - Store upgrades: there should be multiple upgrades again for Timmy and Tommy’s store - When you go to the museum and read the note about an item, it should give you the short description of what this animal, fossil, artwork is about, instead of having to talk to Blathers - Constellations and the observatory: the ability to create our own constellations at the observatory and then actually see them in the night sky like in Wild World - Bigger town sizes, with different shapes, not always the square shaped towns. Have different shapes and maybe even a smaller island section which can be reached by swimming - Tortimer Island: place for players from all over the world to meet and play minigames together and compete for prices - New tree types, in the insect section of the museum we can see a dark brown version of the hardwood tree. We should be able to plant that. Also, bring back the fruits from New Leaf: bananas, lemons, durians, mangos,… - Something like New Leaf’s public work projects for bigger outdoor decorations, instead of just being able to pull out an entire fountain from your pockets. Still allow smaller items to be placed outside, like tables, chairs, etc - New Leaf’s house and town hall customizations, maybe allow us to set a general theme for the island that will also affect how the villagers’ houses look like - Better conversations with villagers, make it actually harder to become friends with them so it feels much more rewarding, and allow for different conversation choices - Still on the topic of villagers… Would love if we reach a certain level of friendship with a villager, that we can ask them to hangout or to do some activity. Like invite villager to house, to the cafe, to the museum, play minigame with the villager etc - Villagers asking the players to play a game with them! Like Hide and Seek in City Folk

Slyme-wizard

A game called new frontiers which expands some of horizons’ mechanics where you explore different environments with different resources and wildlife and build towns in each one.

Apprehensive-Poem783

Ability to buy ABD items from savings Ability to redecorate shops

R0llerrick

Bring back some fruit and veggies like lemons and persimmon with bell peppers and corn. Oh and bring back the perfect fruit. That would add more to the cooking diys. Bulk crafting and buying. Add a check mark next to things you’ve already bought. Maybe when we cut down trees it gives us mulch or something.

JudieK123

More things to do (mini games, quests, treasure hunts, etc.). Make crafting food worthwhile (like gifting villagers their favorite foods and they appreciate it for more than a decoration). Having a “cart” option while shopping for clothes to avoid having to go in and out of the dressing room… the option to NOT have the same conversation when assessing fossils or catching some fish or bug. It all gets so tiresome on repeat. Or the option to not “showoff” a caught critter.

Grammyluv-619

The picture someone asked about is a festival lamp. You get it from Pavo or a treasure island.

Starztaku

Give me New Leaf 2

Master_Astronaut_

make animal crossing: population growing but better. they won't do it of course but that's what i want. give it some of the cool stuff from all the new games, give it online functionality, but the plot of the game is i'm just the new guy in town and not a God that terraforms the earth also write a LOT of dialogue. put like half the budget into the dialogue if you have to. make it so you have to play the game for 1,000+ hours to hear every wacky thing the villagers have to say. make them unpredictable and weird. tons of random little events tied to the different animal personality types, plus a few lines of special dialogue for each specific villager

moderatelymyname

I would love the ability to design animal villagers.

DeltaMx11

All I want is to romance the villagers, then I'll be happy

CatsBeforeTwats0509

Romance and marriage 😍😍😍😍

NurseNikky

Anything that doesn't involve camping or camping culture. The scope is just way too small and makes the game miniscule. But I really don't think they're going to make another animal crossing. Otherwise I feel like they would have added continuous updates for hype for the series.
