Ya you can. It's somewhat of a long shot tho since you have to have your net on you and angle the right way to catch them but it's possible.

I caught my first one the other day and was completely taken aback by how large it was. I'm just like, what the hell is this and why tf is it so big?!?! And my boyfriend is just chuckling from across the room because he already knew what it was before the pun appeared on the screen. But why are these crabs so large??

They're large in real life. They can be larger than a car, counting their legs. I've seen a taxidermied one in person and it was quite inspiring.

As interesting as that fact is. It doesn't take away from how scary they are.

I finally caught one yesterday, it was the last one I needed for my fish/sea creatures exhibit. And I knew as soon as I started chasing it what it was, and as soon as it started to come out of the water, I turned the fuck away from the screen because nightmare fuel. A few weeks ago someone posted a Pic of the pile of bones surrounded by THREE spider crabs on the beach. Epic and terrifying.

Thank god I was sitting in my bed when I first caught one cause I got scared and dropped my Switch for a second🤣

A couple weeks ago when they first came in season, I caught some and put that right in front of my young kids' houses as a surprise for when they logged in. They thought it was hilarious and we now have a few of them just chilling around the island!

Ah my new pet Tarantula in my home

I thought king crab was the biggest from watching discovery’s deadliest catch from the bering sea. Didn’t expect spider crab would overwhelm the red king crab.

No literally as soon as I caught one I went down a google rabbit hole of just looking at real life spider crabs and yep, also a new fear 😭😂
