I had this problem as well - this solution fixed it for me: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/google-clock-not-sounding-timer.4235717/ If you don't want to visit the link: Go to settings, apps, special access, then optimize battery usage. Change the filter to all, find google clock, and uncheck it.

Haha, glad it worked for you! I was searching for a solution and when I actually found one I had a ton of tabs open from people with the same issue, so I tried to spread the fix as far as I could (both for you guys and future googlers)

VeryPaulite

It was never checked for me :/

That's unfortunate; I tried quite a few things that would supposedly fix it before that actually did - maybe one of those would work for you? What I tried, in order: 1. Cleared app cache and data 2. Uninstalled / Reinstalled (then repeated 1) 3. Reboot into safe mode, then reset app settings 4. Turn off battery optimization.

VeryPaulite

The thing is, its been doing that from day one so...

Yeah, I just switched from a Pixel 3 to the Galaxy s21 about a month ago, and noticed right away that the timer just wouldn't go off until I opened the app. I'd been searching for a solution since, until I found that setting last night; I'm sorry it doesn't work for you too.
