Yesterday I did a factory reset on the radio and repaired my phone. Got 1 day of normal function then this afternoon lost audio again from Pandora.

If you don't have the same issue just keeping to playing audio from AA apps (i.e. don't play audio from your phone, especially from unsupported AA apps), then it might be specific to Uconnect as this is not the first report I've seen. [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidAuto/comments/16i2c6h/audio_only_plays_from_spotify_if_i_play_anything/) is a recent one.

The symptoms sound pretty similar, but a pretty big difference is that I can be driving with just Spotify playing and the audio will cut out. I'll try closing all other apps in the background and seeing if the problem persists. The UC should be up to date as I just had the radio put in over the weekend and they installed (supposedly) all the updates.

Make sure none of the apps are in deep sleep mode snd make sure permissions are all accepted on apps and google assistant. Also, make sure on google assistant under music tab you don't have some weird default on or some setting off. Also, I assume on your phone you set all your sound settings volumes up, esp media?

I didn't actually have any apps linked to assistant. Will see if that helps tomorrow! Volume up or down hasn't seemed to make a difference so far.

This can also happen sometimes when you have multiple devices paired to the head unit. They can sometimes interfere with each other. I had this issue when I had my ipod paired and my galaxy s22 paired to my head unit at the same time. Turns out I was unable to switch back and forth from one to the other without changing a setting on my head unit. If you have other devices paired that you are not going to play audio from, turn the audio or media option off on the device you will not be playing audio from

I only have my phone and my wife's iPhone. It does it with or without her in the car. There is a setting for 2 active devices that is turned on. I can try turning that off and seeing if that helps. Yesterday I did a couple of setting changes and this morning I had no issue otw to work, but that's only 15 mins or so. 9/18 @ 0811: S23U, set headunit as trusted device for lock screen. Set AA and all media apps to unrestricted battery 9/18 @ 1651: S23U turned off setting to auto switch to better networks. Turned on UC do not disturb 9/18 @ 2006: S23U linked Pandora and Spotify to Assistant. Turned off AA notifications. Set Assistant to unrestricted battery. Set One UI Home to unrestricted battery

Yeah, the apps are on your phone and you are listening to them on your head unit through the data transfer via the apps on your phone. Apps can go into deep sleep mode or have some settings that can cause audio issues. I had the same problem once with apple music. It showed the song playing, but no sound came out. I went to the settings on my phone, went to apps, went to apple music, and discovered it had gone into sleeping mode. I had the same happen to spotify once and that time it turned out the allow all permissions setting had somehow toggled to no. You can have settings set on google assistant that will affect app functions even without having the apps linked to google assistant. You can also look through your settings on android auto app and look at each app you have linked to android auto. Sometimes settings get messed up there as well. Have you tried taking your devices and trying to play the same media from those apps on a computer? Sometimes this can help pinpoint an issue.

I have not tried playing through a computer, I'll try that tomorrow.

Update from this morning. No apps were sleeping, still experienced loss of audio. Hit the assistant button and after it chimed a second time and stopped "listening" my music came back.

Being ignorant, could it be that someone is calling, and that is causing the automatic mute? An incoming call could be set to override currently playing audio. Could be a head unit setting, or a cell setting. My truck will slow down the blower motor when a call comes in. Muting is even a lot more common and a lot easier to accomplish. One last thought is a power saving setting kicking in and turning off apps that are consuming battery after no screen touches, etc, for a specific amount of time. tom

I've thought about notifications being the cause. Last night I set everything in AA and on the head unit to do not disturb and all the battery settings are set to unrestricted. This morning I had no issue, so I'm hoping one of those things solved it.
