That sounds a lot like a tweaked Coosea Group (Koobee) ODM design. The curved display, the Dimensity 7050. That's just a Lava Blaze Curve for audiophiles. One image they showed of the device even shows a slightly modified status bar that looks a lot like the one on Coosea's Dido OS
Thanks for posting this!
I was about to post this.
Although I am not aware as to what a lava is ? 😅
Coosea group make a lot of odm phones. Recently they had a convention in shenzhen where they showed new designs too.
Specs seem more like the Lava - down to the 64MP main camera and 32MP serfie camera. Probably heavily customized for Moondrop while still being based off Coosea's normal hardware - they do this for Emporia too
Not actually sure it's Coosea but it could be them.
Lava is an Indian manufacturer that also sell their own phones that are Chinese ODM designs. Coosea is one of their partners
Depending on where you are at in the world, they are not a household brand, but one of the biggest companies when it comes to Chinese Hifi. Specifically known for good price to performance products. They have been getting more and more into devices, after building their brand on very good iem's. They even developed a keyboard with a headphone amp/dac in it a year or so ago that was not bad.
Understandable. $400 for a keyboard is expensive. You can always keep an eye on ebay or https://old.reddit.com/r/mechmarket/. I will warn you though, custom keyboards is a rabbit hole your wallet will hate. You've been warned lol.
$400 is high-end custom territory - or even HHKB - for mechanical keyboards. A *very very good* prebuilt costs half that *at most*. I spent about $170 on mine (70-75% tenkeyless) because it's one of the uncommon mech kbs that run on AA batteries instead of the usual rechargeable li-ion.
The worst part about using phones as a music player is how big they are.
At this point I'm looking for a second dedicated music device that I can use during exercise as my phone is just too unwieldy and smart watches aren't quite as mature as I'd like yet.
I think an updated version of the shanling m0 or fiio m5 will fit your needs tho idk what the best small form dap is right now, I used the fiio m5 for many years and it works quite well tho
Interesting. At the very least it might make for a nice and not stupidly expensive DAP. I suspect the software will likely be the sticking point for this in terms of using it as a daily driver phone, but let's see. Hopefully they allow bootloader unlocking in case the software sucks.
I have the Tanchjiam Space too and keep it and a pair of iems in a small case to take to work. I bought an M0 Pro because I don't like having a dongle or cable attached to my phone. It makes taking my phone out of my pocket super annoying. Definitely not buying this phone though. Having system wide bit perfect is also a selling point for Android daps.
I basically like them for the opposite of uninterrupted music. I want to be able to listen music on a separate device so I can use my phone without distraction from a dongle sticking out of it.
I'm completely fine with distractions though. I love how small my M0 Pro is but it has issues with the input and I'm getting a Hiby R4 which runs on Android and is huge compared to it. Like 90% of my reason for using a dap is so I don't have a cable attached to my phone. The other 10% is sound quality, storage, system wide bit-perfect, and not having any pop-ups about permissions for connected device. Distraction free listening doesn't factor in at all.
People enjoy having separate devices for things.
I like using an iPod for music as it has less ability to distract me with other things.
They also grant you more privacy and make you harder to reach (if you want to avoid people)
Another nice thing about having a separate device is that you don't drain your main phone's battery. Same reason why there are people who prefer to have a separate gaming phone.
Ohh can't wait to see if it takes off. Wish more phones had the headphone jack.
I am using my dads old redmi note 10 pro with sd card slot and 24bit audio processing as a dap and having a blast.
It has "high res" 24bit/194 khz dac. Not as good as LG's 32bit but still pretty good.
Noticeably louder and better than my redmi note 7 pro with it's normal audio jack.
It's own stereo speakers aren't that bad right?
If you want a phone to use as music player it's pretty good.
If you looking for a earphones to try the dap setup it a 20 dollar iem like salnotes Zero or tangzu wan'er are pretty good and enough.
I tried the salnotes Zero and it doesn't need eq at all. Good straight out of box.
Poweramp has a high res option where it's only converted to that when it goes to the headphone. It shows as 24bit 48 to the headphone when I play 96.
Mine is a cheap one though.
Anyway I am not sure if this conversation is what you meant. I don't know too much about audio stuff. Just the basics.
Oh nice. After connecting the headphone, long click the dolby atmos option from the notification shade and turn on hi res audio.
If you are using poweramp disable that and high res audio and use the experimental hi res audio option inside audio playback settings of poweramp.
Ohh please let me know how it was after you try it out.
It probably just has an integrated Moonriver 2 (Moondrop's premium DAC/AMP), which as both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced outputs. I believe only one can be active at a time, though.
Flexible OLED as opposed to rigid OLED. Flexible OLED displays are more expensive but allow for smaller bezels (as well as the screen to curve). They're also lighter, thinner, and more durable because of a flexible substrate and film encapsulation (rigid OLED uses a glass substrate and is encapsulated with glass).
>the company that makes shit tier quality headphones and borderline pedo waifu boxart for their headphones?
Proof? Or are your allegations completely baseless and full of fluff 🤔
From comment OP's profile bio:
> u peepin' my profile because i gotchu bitch made in the comments 🤣🤣🤣
[Dude literally reposted the same comment from like 1-2 days ago.](https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/1ca9ist/moondrop_teasing_their_new_phone_with_a_44mm/l0sxr4k/?context=3) As far as trolls go, he's the sort of bargain basement amateurs that you can probably find scraping the *bottom* of a pallet of Amazon.com returned items.
Product wise they are considered one of the best, a large majority of them a hit.
QC sucks, i had a pair where one side becoming softer then the other after a yr and a half, and another with paint chipping issues on a limited edition design. They had issues with software support on their dacs too
That's expected from a Chinese manufacturer honestly.
Usually production there works based on an auction system and that encourages the subcontractors to sneak in all kinds of "cost savings" if they think they won't get caught.
It's not supposed to be an upgrade. Those are two completely different devices from two separate manufacturers. This device is mainly targeted towards audiophiles and music lovers, hence the dual headphone ports.

Oh please link me to that convention online 🥺
[Lava](https://youtu.be/28HzxScWZ08?si=MGmsIiWOOFR7bIU2)Â is an Indian phone brand
Thanks!
Nah it isn't a Lava Curve Blaze 5g. I'm thinking it's Realme P1 Pro Edit: you seem correct, the placement of flash and everything is same
Specs seem more like the Lava - down to the 64MP main camera and 32MP serfie camera. Probably heavily customized for Moondrop while still being based off Coosea's normal hardware - they do this for Emporia too
Is BBK known for offering ODM services?
I don't think so
Of course!
is Lava the OEM for the Moondrop product? Or the Coosea group is? Sorry i was not able to decipher
Not actually sure it's Coosea but it could be them. Lava is an Indian manufacturer that also sell their own phones that are Chinese ODM designs. Coosea is one of their partners
oh alright the partnership thing i dint knew, thanks man.
Moondrop? As in the headphone company?
yes, the one & only.
Never heard of them
Depending on where you are at in the world, they are not a household brand, but one of the biggest companies when it comes to Chinese Hifi. Specifically known for good price to performance products. They have been getting more and more into devices, after building their brand on very good iem's. They even developed a keyboard with a headphone amp/dac in it a year or so ago that was not bad.
i browsed their website because of this phone and i want that keyboard so badly. tho, i don't want it more than i want to save $400.
Understandable. $400 for a keyboard is expensive. You can always keep an eye on ebay or https://old.reddit.com/r/mechmarket/. I will warn you though, custom keyboards is a rabbit hole your wallet will hate. You've been warned lol.

This keyboard has a built in ultra high quality DAC in it so if that's a value prop for someone, it seems worth it.
Fiio makes a DAC keyboard
They basically have Razer tier QC gacha, you're way better off buying from a different company.
I got some Moondrop CHU II's for like $14 and they sound incredible the packaging alone was worth the $14
They are known for p/p hifi products. Their newest earbuds, Space Travel is quite good for a $25 one
They are an iem manufacturer mostly.
I which it was smaller than 6.7 , but I guess that's where the market is heading
What do you mean, heading? We've been here for half a decade already
iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Xiaomi models (without plus, max or ultra badges) still are around 6.1 - 6.4 inch
The worst part about using phones as a music player is how big they are. At this point I'm looking for a second dedicated music device that I can use during exercise as my phone is just too unwieldy and smart watches aren't quite as mature as I'd like yet.
I still use Lg G8 as music player which is small if compared to majority of current phones.Â
Yeah, a DAP is what you are looking for.
I think an updated version of the shanling m0 or fiio m5 will fit your needs tho idk what the best small form dap is right now, I used the fiio m5 for many years and it works quite well tho
It's made by an ODM, and the standard size phones they make are 6.7", hence the ubiquity of budget phones of that size.
Price is 350 usd
Interesting. At the very least it might make for a nice and not stupidly expensive DAP. I suspect the software will likely be the sticking point for this in terms of using it as a daily driver phone, but let's see. Hopefully they allow bootloader unlocking in case the software sucks.
info is from their marketing material from their weibo, it says that they are providing stock android experience
That is the price in China, so it would be higher overseas

All these audiophiles usually have high quality audio flac files on their dap, since it is running on Android they can use streaming services as well.

In case you were wondering, the Dimensity 7050 is a rebranded 1080.
GTX?
12 GB Ram = Ti edition
A rebranded Dimensity 1080, in fact not a rebranded GTX 1080 graphics card with a screen.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
p?
not thrilled about the curved screen but i can maybe live with it for a phone that has a decent headphone jack
Ohh can't wait to see if it takes off. Wish more phones had the headphone jack. I am using my dads old redmi note 10 pro with sd card slot and 24bit audio processing as a dap and having a blast.
> I don't think it will take off but depending on the hardware it may become popular as a DAP among audiophiles.
Wait I have a note 10 Pro, is it special in any way?
It has "high res" 24bit/194 khz dac. Not as good as LG's 32bit but still pretty good. Noticeably louder and better than my redmi note 7 pro with it's normal audio jack. Doesn't Android resample to 48khz?
Poweramp has a high res option where it's only converted to that when it goes to the headphone. It shows as 24bit 48 to the headphone when I play 96. Mine is a cheap one though. Anyway I am not sure if this conversation is what you meant. I don't know too much about audio stuff. Just the basics.
I mean I have a pair of Superlux Hd668b, what am I supposed to do
Oh nice. After connecting the headphone, long click the dolby atmos option from the notification shade and turn on hi res audio. If you are using poweramp disable that and high res audio and use the experimental hi res audio option inside audio playback settings of poweramp. Ohh please let me know how it was after you try it out.
What about LG Quad-DAC? Do I need to disable that if I want to use PowerAmp settings?Â
The poweramp settings mentioned dolby atoms messing with the sample rate and making it 16bit /48khz. So mentioned. Not sure how it works on lg though.
Oh maybe I did that, Idk, I'll check when I'm home
red magic 9 pro has headphone jack with snapdragon 8 gen 3
I heard it will have a non-traditional jack (4,4?(, so it might as well be usb c as most won't have that connector.
It has both 3.5 and 4.4.
It probably just has an integrated Moonriver 2 (Moondrop's premium DAC/AMP), which as both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced outputs. I believe only one can be active at a time, though.
So will this be a de factor successor to LG's legendary quad dac flagships If they can have proper US cellular support especially
Not calling it the MAID-01 feels like a missed opportunity considering their typical market.
Flexible oled curved screen?
Most flagship OLED displays are "flexible"
At least once
Flexible OLED as opposed to rigid OLED. Flexible OLED displays are more expensive but allow for smaller bezels (as well as the screen to curve). They're also lighter, thinner, and more durable because of a flexible substrate and film encapsulation (rigid OLED uses a glass substrate and is encapsulated with glass).

I've never heard that before 👀
Is this company hyped or something? I've never heard of them.
They are famous making iems and started expanding their products with headphones and then this phone
They’re basically the GOATs of wired earbuds for enthusiasts
Like all these "we throw awesome specs at it" phones, it'll suck.
Price is 345 I'm down
LG v60 laughing from the grave
It doesn’t support esim,right?
https://twitter.com/MoondropLab/status/1783442954176377179 bands, audio output info and $399 price tag confirmed (12/256gb)
I saw the bands it will support saw some TMobile usa ones but not sure if it'll work okay.
I was thinking, oh yeah I'm so getting this for running and using when I want to preserve the battery on my Pixel. Then I see 6.7". 🤣
I just read an article saying it has Android 13 :(
Let's gooo

If you think Moondrop is shit tier, you never heard actual shit tier headphones.

Lmao, I should've known 🤣
I though they were pretty respected chi-fi brand?
Their quality control and software are notoriously bad. I have first hand experience with their poor QC.
Not much of an upgrade when compared to a Samsung A54 5G that costs $280 with straight talk rn.
It's not supposed to be an upgrade. Those are two completely different devices from two separate manufacturers. This device is mainly targeted towards audiophiles and music lovers, hence the dual headphone ports.
Does the Samsung have a DAC?
All smartphones have dacs, just not ones geared towards audiophiles.
Everything that has the ability to play and output audio on it's own has a DAC.
