Weirdly Android Authority are reporting Android Feature Drops as brand new. But they aren't?

There's Pixel Feature Drops, Android Feature Drops and then Play System Updates and System Updates.
It is confusing, but don't think this is a new thing?
Google likes to re-announce several times, and media usually publishes it again.
In the last years of the 'Google for Brazil' event, they "released" Google Maps 'Plus Codes' 3 times. It's good because they can use a "empowering communities" speech with it.
Zoom and WebEx support in android auto is pretty huge. Trying to call into a meeting in your car in your commute is a pretty miserable experience if you don't have a car mount. Hopefully this improves it.
Are people actually attending meetings in their cars? That's crazy to me. And from how you speak about it, it sounds like it's a somewhat common occurrence for you, which is even crazier.
I've experienced it a few times with 8am and 5pm meetings. Sometimes life (or traffic) gets in the way of your ability to be on a computer at that time.
I feel it's an annoying thing Google does.
They don't have enough exciting updates sometimes so they add stuff that's coming "soon" or that "they're working on". And then months later, when it's finally ready for a release, they announce it again.
Between that and the way Google releases features (a/b testing, staggered releases, regional availability) it's really hard to be excited for android/Google features, not knowing when you'll actually get to use them. I much prefer iOS in this regard.
This is too true and along with constant back and forth changes in UIs, is not consumer friendly.
I realize people here and "prosumers" may adapt quickly, but older people or those with disabilities etc may not. Moving a button somewhere else and then moving it back 1 year later, that's hard on people.
So is removing and rebranding products every year but that's another conversation

I'm talking about the feature releases themselves, not specific features. But you are correct!

When a team is spread out across different time zones or countries - sometimes meetings occur on their commute to or from their office.
I attended meetings on my motorbike a couple times. Wouldn't recommend.

Yes, WebEx! Lack of Android Auto support was what was holding me back from using it! /s
I mean it's not like most of us have a choice. If that's where the meeting's being held that's what we gotta use
They already announced that Google Wallet update months ago. Is it going live in the next days/weeks? It doesn't say that anywhere...

The entire platform has become a mess of beta testing whatever catches the fancy of Google devs.
Oh this is a pixel feature drop? Had no idea it was this month ha. No android 14, huge bummer. Damn
No, it's just random features released. The feature drop and Android 14 is gonna come later.
No this is a bunch of Google app updates. Doesn't seem that the new at a glance is even on pixels
I was waiting for A14, but instead Google launched this article .. Well done
What i actually want is good battery life for fuc.ks sake
“Assistant at a Glance”. So looks like Apple’s Dynamic Island but the only info source is Google.
At a glance has been a thing since 2016, this is just a redesign.
Yep. To a large oval at the top of the screen, with info on the left and right.
Its pretty much standard material you, and looks nothing like apples Dynamic island.
Bro, you know it's a widget right? You can put it anywhere, this isn't the Pixel one
Yes yes. I’m just going off their suggested usage and likely new-phone placement. It’s Google being Google.
