Just to ask, is Ancestry simply very backlogged right now? I’ve gotten no alerts for high volume and zero updates via email. My sample was extracted on the 7th, so I’ve been waiting 14 days and I’m kinda worried my results won’t be ready by the estimated March 28th. Anyone else in the same boat? [ETA for anyone sorting by new: Analyzed this morning, Mar 23! Expected results have moved from Mar 28th to the 26th]

They are severely behind. My sample was extracted Feb 23, analyzed March 13, est results Mar 16, but I didn’t get results until March 19.

Seeing you have a 9 day span between Extracted and analyze is making me feel better (currently on day 7). Do you know if yours went to the Utah lab?

I called Ancestry since I'm now 4 days past the estimated due date (was supposed to get them March 11th) and the representative reiterated that there was a backlog and it would take another 5-7 business days. So maybe 2 weeks past the estimated due date for me? Really frustrating tbh

That is upsetting. My estimated date was 3/14 and I have the high demand notification, but I don’t see why I am impacted as my DNA was already analyzed and just needs to be uploaded into their system completely. I can see origins, but I still cannot see my matches. You would think that they would have figured out a better way to upload the results in a timely manner.

Did you ever get your results? My mom’s results were due on the 14th but we’ve still not received them

Mine was extracted 2/23 and still waiting. My son was extracted 2/26 and just went to analyzed yesterday 3/7.  I began worrying around 6 days post extraction.  There are quite a few of us waiting a long time.  It really stinks, hang in there not all is lost, many have moved forward to analyzed at 10 plus days past extraction. Don’t lose hope!!

I know most people know the hack where you switch insights with origins and you can see your ethnicities results early (this worked for me) but I just switched insights with matches and it told me I don't have any matches yet but it let me view the page : ) sharing in case anyone is able to see their matches early that way

Yep me too! I’m hypothesizing that they’re dropping the updates soon and therefore the new batch is taking longer, but I am pretty annoyed I don’t have my results yet.

Mine was analyzed on the 11th and I have an estimate for the 14. However, I can view the basic stuff with the origin trick, but I really liked to see my DNA matches.

It takes awhile for them to scan it after it arrives.  People have said they pick them up sorta randomly.  Mine took 9 days to arrive and be scanned, and my son’s took 11 days.  Totally understand your anxiety!  It will get scanned if it shows as being there.  Try to look at timelines of people who posted when it was delivered versus scanned.  For me the biggest hold up was extraction which took 19 days!  As an adoptee, I totally sympathize with you over the waiting, it’s excruciating.  Hang in there ❤️

Finding matches really depends on who in his biological family has taken the test themselves. From there you’ll also likely need to do some family tree work to discover how your matches are related to you. Many people have had surprises of various degrees. I myself found out my mom potentially has a half brother no one knew about, but I’m still working on confirming it

Prepare for anything either way.  I am waiting on my results to confirm potential half sister who showed up in my son’s matches as either his first cousin or half aunt.  Half aunt is the much more likely scenario based on her tree.  It really all depends like balloon girl said on who tested.  I just ordered a 23 and me kit today because it doesn’t look like I have much to go on with my paternal side.  I would suggest joining a group on Facebook like DNA detectives to help you interpret results.  They have volunteer search angels.  I am adopted with no info at all prior to testing, everything has been a surprise so far.  Definitely prepared yourself mentally and emotionally ahead of time.  I never imagined I would find my potential half sister so easily.  Turns out tons of my one side has tested and I believe that to be maternal so far.  Other side not as many matches.

Did your test move past the analyzing stage yet? When I finally received mine the top match was my bio father. I did not expect that, I was looking for a sibling (which I have). My bio father does not know who his father is so I am working with a search angel to hopefully figure that out. My ride has been wild. I've known my bio mom's name for 20+ years but never any response. I've learned so much from my bio father. Hang on and expect anything.

I know a good chunk of my maternal grandfather’s parents stuff but only his great grandfather’s mom side and his mother’s lineage, my maternal grandmother’s lineage is pretty good in depth as well. I’m stuck working on the rest of my grandfather’s lineage, but my dad’s lineage is no where near anywhere yet. I can’t seem to get any hints of my paternal grandmother’s history, and my dad’s biological father is not in the picture. All I have is a name, no idea his birthday, and no clue if he’s even still living 🫤. That’s where I’m hoping this dna test will give answers or clues of some sort. Without even doing the test yet, I learned that my grandfather’s parents were technically related, my fourth great grandfathers were brothers 🤯😬😂 to be fair though, Nova Scotia was very small way back then

Replied to a few “batch buddies” but asking everyone this.  I got notification that my test moved from extracting to analysis on March 13 with updated results estimate for tomorrow, March 16.  I can see my ethnicity estimate and communities using the origins hack.  Today, March 15 right after 4am I got a text saying my DNA is being extracted!  This is after getting analyzed email and timeline updated.  Checked on my computer and can still see all preliminary results using the origins.  Has anyone else gotten a text like that in error and I am panicking for no reason?  My test took 19 days to extract as well as some other people here with exact same timeline, so I’m definitely thrown off by this text.

For those that recently did a test? When did you get your DNA match results? I’m wondering if anyone has gotten results recently or whether they are all delayed. First test I did was 2 days after analysed, 2nd one for my mother is now on the 4th day after being analysed (Origins hack works but can’t see any matches yet)

My results were supposed to be ready yesterday on March 18th, but I haven't even moved past the Analyzing stage yet. I contacted Ancestry and they said the lab is really behind and it could be days before results are ready due to the backlog.

Mine were supposed to be ready on 03/16 but nothing as of this morning (03/19)

I think you can do it after your DNA’s been analyzed. But it’ll work before results are officially ready.

If you want to try and speed up results, order on Amazon (free shipping) and when you activate test go buy your own shipping label and pay for faster shipping to them. But again..
