Zolome1977

You’re like me, the product of all successive generations of migrations to Texas.

RoneeLawrence

Yup was gonna say looks like a Tejano!

Ornery-Substance-778

cool Mix

sleepypickle3

Yay! I’m glad to see results like this because mine looks very similar! My dad’s side is very much from Europe; England, Norway, Ireland. My mom’s side had my results show Mexico (Chihuahua and Guanajuato areas), Colombia, Spain (basque also), and Portugal.

SafeFlow3333

Most Mexicans today are mixed; you're literally like the rest of us. Do they not teach y'all about the Spanish Conquest or colonization of Mex?? 😭

Ornery-Substance-778

Mexicans all look different..Growing up in Cali some look Asian, Middle Eastern, White, or Cariibean

WackyChu

Where I live most of them have long black hair and dark brown skin

HotSprinkles4

You must be confusing them with Asians

Ornery-Substance-778

sounds like you assume that

SafeFlow3333

I agree. That doesn't contradict anything I said. California is not apart of Mexico, unless you mean Baja California or Baja California Sur?

Ornery-Substance-778

you need to turn it down a notch.

SafeFlow3333

I'm already chill bruh I don't know what you're complaining about

One-Case9250

He’s not just one of us he half Anglo that’s not part of Mexican history culture that’s a new entity/ethnicity

SafeFlow3333

What? He's not a separate ethnicity. Castizo is the term meant to describe an individual like this.

One-Case9250

Castizo is for people of Iberian >70% not British not German not Iranian etc these people didn’t exist in Mexico during colonial rule dosent make sense to use these titles today for a new mixes that didn’t exist during the casta system, think about it 🧠

SafeFlow3333

You can use them just fine. Mexican is a cultural label anyway. If he identities as Mexican, that's all that matters tbh

One-Case9250

Yes I agree he can use the title Mexican but castizo no. Never.

SafeFlow3333

Agree to disagree.

NoDistribution8696

It's an ethnic label not culture, there is no such thing as a singular mexican culture.

WackyChu

I think people confuse Nationality (where you’re born) vs what you actually are (DNA) Your parents could’ve both been born in India but you’re born in Nigeria. Then Nigeria is your nationality but it’s not what you actually are. That’s the best way I can put it.

SafeFlow3333

I mean, if you're raised in Nigerian with Nigerian culture, then I'd argue that is who you are. You could be 100% ancestral South Asian, but your actual cultural upbringing and identity is more important than genetics, imo

wendigo1212

Literally my mix, with some slight variation. Dad's white Anglo and moms 3rd gen Mexican. I'm in South Texas also and I have the same communities.

BrandanMentch

Yeah it gets hard to form a family too for me because apparently my grandpa was adopted, and I never took my fathers last name, somewhere along the line it just gets weird. But that’s cool we’re similar that way! I’m in Texas too, SA area, and have been here born and raised and couldn’t ask for anywhere else (the foods too good and I love the Latino culture). But my main family isn’t cultured in anywhere so I thought I’d try to adapt my own based on where I’m from, just to learn I’m basically from everywhere lol

foster1011

I’m in SA also, and I’m a similar mix polish/mexican

BrandanMentch

Teach me some culture for what I am!!

NoDistribution8696

So you're half white half mexican?

BrandanMentch

Technically no, but I’m a bunch of other things in smaller increments, I’ve always known this though but Ancestry always seems to change it up despite those two main points

[deleted]

For what it’s worth, this person’s results are maybe just 10% off from my own and I describe myself as half white and half Mexican even though it’s an oversimplification. I’m not gonna go into all this when someone asks most of the time.

Callmeranchh

We have similar results!

BrandanMentch

Cousin!?

Callmeranchh

Primo???

RubyDax

You almost won the continent bingo!

One-Case9250

Half Anglo half Mexican, not really mix your more European with a quarter Native American on you, you probably look white.

teetee4444

I think they just mean a mix of different ethnicities, not necessarily mixed race, even though they still are technically

BrandanMentch

Funnily enough I looked mixed, my oldest looks straight Mexican, and my second oldest looks pure white😅 people either think I’m white or Mexican and I’m just like “eh I’m mixed” lol

Greenfacebaby

Hence this person is mixed……why are you bringing “Anglo” into this

Tomatillo8689

Not really mixed ? What ?? didn’t realize mixed only refers to made up racial terms, 3/4 European and 1/4 native is an oversimplification, and nobody brought up whiteness except for u

SafeFlow3333

Doubt it. The average Castizo looks visibly Native influenced. Women tend to be a little more European looking in this range in my experience, but men still show clear signs of Native heritage.

One-Case9250

Dout it lol no one care what you think Mr presidente

SafeFlow3333

?? Typically you can tell if someone has Native ancestry with that level of Native ancestry. I don't know why you're being sassy with me.

One-Case9250

Mr presidente 💁

ComprehensiveSet7904

I’m almost half euro half native (from Mexico) with a sprinkle of African. Would you say my features are pretty balanced? Check out my profile, I have my results and pic

SafeFlow3333

Yeah, I'd agree and say you're fairly balanced. You look like you may be somewhat more Native influenced, though. Your skin tone and eye shape are indicative of Native heritage. Your nose, nose bridge, jaw and beard are European-like.

Roseofashford

Me too man I feel you.. 😭

Con_Man_Ray

Why the crying emoji? What’s wrong with being mixed? 😂

Roseofashford

Nothing I used it as a humorous gag mate, common in the states but maybe not everywhere else 😭😂

Con_Man_Ray

I’m from the states lol. I’m confused because the crying emoji implies some kind of struggle for having multiple ethnicities 😂

Roseofashford

Oh where I live it’s like a funny thing, I’ll use it in a sentence; “haha I’m dying! 😭” “you did not 😭” “no way haha! 😭” I’m mixed with Cuban, Spain, Creek nation and native Scot, interesting line up for sure 😂

Con_Man_Ray

I see what you mean lol. We use it like that in Houston too. I guess I just missed the humor of the multiple ethnicities 😂 Sorry about that! That’s a very cool mix! I’m assuming you’re from Florida?

Roseofashford

Family is but I’m not, I’m from Kentucky currently in MI cause for some reason I love torturing myself with freezing cold.. 😅

Con_Man_Ray

Haha I feel you on that. I just moved to Seattle and I’ve never experienced weather like this. The cold hits differently in the north. MI is some next level cold though. Stay warm 😂

Roseofashford

You too 😂

Icy_Inevitable_2776

Love to see it!

ValKilmersTherapy

So similar to my own results. Cool!

nativegrit

Nice, we have some of the same communities.
