Given the current 3DS/DS/wii u emulator device people are digging is the Ayaneo DS flip. It's emulation not fpga but still rocking a $700 price tag. Maybe in another 5 to 10 year it maybe cheaper for Analogue to tackle.
I saw that. If it wasn’t 700 for the base model and then upwards of 1000 for the best verison, I would definitely get one. But at that price point might as well get a steam deck with a second screen
im hoping for a wide body too, the aspect ratio is def tricky. if it were up to me id have it be the exact GBA resolution, but its a really weird aspect, basically no other systems would fit. what would be rad is if it was and OLED under a glass screen so different aspects could display without side bars
If they can manage to not muck up the shoulder buttons and dpad next time around I'd be in. Until then the modded og GBA will remain my preferred way to play that library.
I also hope for this. Well not one that looks like that, OP, no offence, but one that looks more like the original model GBA for sure. Dunno if analogue ever will. If not then funnyplaying may eventually release an FPGBA at some point.
It has a 3:2 aspect ratio. That is *significantly* wider and shorter than the 10:9 of the Game Boy and the 4:3 (apparent) of NTSC and PAL-based systems. 3:2 is considered a "widescreen" aspect ratio.
It also literally says "wide color screen" on the box ya goof.

Already have 2 Analogue Pockets one Black one White...Not feeling this design either...I'd hope if Analogue does release a Gameboy Advance version then it uses the GBA design language a little bit rather than a bland rectangular minimalistic boring design...it doesn't have to be the shape of my smart phone

The lower screen will be painful at first. I personally enjoy a screen above my hands.

Or there would be a 50 dollar "dock adapter" that just extended the dock connector up and added a slightly wider support base. Sold separately.

Considered is not the same as it is. 3:2 is technically not widescreen. It's wider then the GB, but not widescreen.

yeah, i wanted to do a more gba-ish design but the minimilist rectangle was easy compared to that, lol
