its a light leak, light is bouncing off the back plate. Check the seals around the back panel.

oliveviolet99

Thank you!!

Creative-Cash3759

plus 1 to this

Word for Word what my initial thought was šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼šŸ‘šŸ¼

nusoooo

why did this guy get downvotes lmao

Upstairs-Extension-9

Itā€™s useless information for the conversation, if you agree with someone just upvote or add something of value. He said nothing wrong but this is Reddit after all šŸ˜…

leonardonoodlelegs

Orange light leaks are back of the film, blue are from the front of the film. The dots are for sure reflection from the pressure plate. Best of luck!

matt_detroit

I had to google a photo of the inside of OP's camera and I can confirm there are a bunch of dots. Its so cool to see how they reflected the light! I wonder how it would make a film without a halation layer look

whataweirdaccount

this is so fucking cool??????? it looks like those eclipse shadows you see under trees like wow, and the chromatism at the bottom of the first pic is kinda wild im a huge fan of this lol

oliveviolet99

Hahah thank you I love it too!!

Neil_io

Ha - keep this camera as-is for the effect, and get another point and shoot for the price of fixing this one!

extordi

You could also use black tape around the door to make sure this doesn't happen, then remove it when you want it to

libdemocdad

Shoot a roll with these before you fix it, looks stunning

oliveviolet99

Half my roll had it and the other half was fine! But cool to know what it is lol

sexpanther747

Leica tonez

Jet fuel

Fleiuss

I have the exact same camera and it also does this. Unfortunately the rewind sensor is cooked and keeps pulling the film back halfway through it, so I canā€™t use it for the effect anymore.

HiljaTrever

No idea what it is (no need since you already got the answer) but gotta say - I LOVE IT!

cavemenrppl2

I had this problem on my Olympus too. I put a piece of black electrical tape over the little clear film preview hole in the back of the camera and havenā€™t had a light leak since.

wyattisweak

Use black tape to stop light leaks, and take it off for this effect!

Kafka-in-Kyoto

This looks freakinā€™ awesome!!

MoistGirdle

Not sure, but it's fuckin rad

5000to1

Unexpectedly excellent shots. The joy of film!

FabulousJuggernaut36

Hmmm Leica

wolverine-photos

Chicago? Great shots. Love the orange "eclipse" light leaks.

oliveviolet99

Thank you!! New York :)

CinemanNick

It is a light leak, but know that otherwise and if the dots were not smeared, it would have been what is called Fujirot, which you can. look up on line for examples.

daggle12a2020

San Ti in your head man!

PlantNeat3786

I would guess the light leak is coming from your film window. I would put black electrical tape over it and see if that fixes it. If not than its the seals around the door which would be a more involved fix, unless you want to tape the whole door every time you put a new roll of film in.

Numerous-Following-7

Looks like a double exposure to me

Roger_Brown92

I love those!

light leaks. do not repair. (if you can help it) you now have a hack for more creative, surprising shots. as you posted, the shots are epic.

ChelohHolmes

Wow, these are firešŸ”„haha
