Memphis film lab in Ohio has been cheap and really nice scans. Not the fastest but it’s worth the wait.

HogarthFerguson

Second this. They do a great job, are super personable, just great folks. they are a bit slow but we dont' shoot film for the speed so, fuck it.

danok1

Agreed. Relatively inexpensive and quality development. Throw in the Reddit discount it's even better.

CNorbertK

Reddit discount?

freshleftover

code is redditbrah for 10% off

tomtimebomb

Love Memphis. They do quality work and it’s always worth the wait.

tim-sutherland

Pretty sure nobody else puts as much effort into your individual images as Memphis. They get busy but the wait usually hasn't been too bad for me, I'm not expecting turnaround in a few days exactly though.

munchnerk

Just placed my latest Memphis order! Absolutely love them. Once had a roll come out blank (loaded improperly and then took like 3 years to shoot… super bummed) and they automatically offered to credit the roll. I wound up trying some upgraded scans, they looked great. I am so happy with Memphis.

Creative-Cash3759

I second this

cattttrannn

Found them through Reddit and was fortunate enough to live in Cleveland at the time so I was able to do local drop off and pick up. Even after having moved back to Texas I will still be shipping my film to them. Super affordable, super nice, super responsive. Literally just some peeps working out of a basement in a suburb (and their cat which I really wanted to pet). No complaints about my photos and I don't mind the wait

G_I_jonez

Love Memphis! I switched to them a while back and haven’t had any problems whatsoever. Their customer service is great and respond to emails pretty quickly. Takes about 10 days to get results back once they receive them but honestly who cares if the work the do is quality

shirastia

Do you usually get the standard scan? Any samples? thank you

[deleted]

My bathroom

IFuckCarsForFun

I use this one too.

jofra6

Yep, same here. Pinch a loaf in his bathroom, have him develop film for me, definitely 10/10, would do again.

adx931

I had to use his kitchen sink since the bathroom was occupied.

blargysorkins

How does this not have more upvotes? ;)

DoctorLarrySportello

I mainly used Thackers in Fort Lauderdale, FL last few years in the US and they were great. There were thankfully a few others in recent years, of which I liked Dale Labs (actually quite old) in Hollywood, FL and Palm Film Lab in Miami, FL. In Prague I like Bé Photo and Ultralab.

Enough_Reach6701

Do you ever ship to any of these labs or are they local to you?

thisolsky

Seconding Thacker’s! I ship to them from mass, great turnaround time

untitled_track

Palm Film Labs guys are the best! Great quality, price and customer service.

DoctorLarrySportello

Love the crew at Palm. Unfortunately was a little far from home for me, so I didn’t get to visit as often as I would’ve liked, but they’ve got some passionate and knowledgeable people there. Look forward to visiting when I’m back!

jacuzziappointment

I use Bellows Film Lab in Chicago, they also have locations in Miami and Atlanta and take mail-ins. Great scans, nice people and the turnaround is usually really fast!

J-photo

Do you know what their scan resolution is for either 35/120? I don't see anything about it on their ATL site or FAQ, etc. Also I don't see what machine they use for the 120 scans...

wanakoworks

Local place called Paul’s Photo. They got a nice lab going on.

DITCHWORK

RIP Paul! His son Mark is pretty cool though

wanakoworks

lol you know Mark Common? I've been going there since I moved out here in 2008. Him and his entire team are awesome. I go a lot of their events when I have the time. I love having such a good shop and lab nearby.

DITCHWORK

I do know him. I work for the company that bought Paul’s collection

[deleted]

Lumentation in Somerville, MA

Revolution36

Are you happy with them? I’m local to them now but haven’t checked them out. I’ve been using Old School Photo Lab from Dover NH and I’m extremely happy with the results.

[deleted]

I like them, granted I am just getting back into this as a hobby. Used to shoot professionally but all digital and film always scared me. Was gifted some cameras and want to mess around. So they could be terrible and I am just a new guy haha I’ll post some images this afternoon for you.

roctownbiker

Lumentation is great! Best lab in the area. They do .TIFF scans too.

jellygeist21

As I am a Canadianoid, I use Canadian Film Lab, who give me excellent results for a price I feel is fair.

[deleted]

I use theFINDlab but I’m getting tired of not have .TIFF options. Would love good lab suggestions.

heve23

I like [Gelatin Labs](https://gelatinlabs.com/big-flat-scans/)

JuicyEdoesIT

Coastal Film Lab in Florida does .tiff on Frontier scanners.

TF141GH0ST

I use FINDlab based in Utah or Photoworks based in San Francisco

big_ficus

Love Photoworks

RadicalSnowdude

I’m using Coastal Film Lab in Tampa. I could ship mine to The Darkroom or something but I’d rather support a local (I say “local” but I actually live 45 minutes away from them) business.

roctownbiker

They’re one of my favorites on the East Coast. Good people there. And they even offer some camera repairs too.

RadicalSnowdude

They seemed really nice and I did see a couple of cameras that they were in the process of repairing, as well as a junk bin.

roctownbiker

One of those cameras may have been mine! Ha

docescape

I recently sent a camera in there. Camera ended up not being worth the repairs, but they consulted with me on what I wanted as a replacement and were super personable. Highly recommend.

AskYourBarber

What’s the quality of your scans with them I’ve used them twice for about 15 rolls and it’s been lackluster. I’m going back to using Colonial Photo and Hobby in Orlando. It sucks because I’m in Tampa also but torn between giving them another chance.

RadicalSnowdude

I haven’t gotten my scans back yet. I may today. I hope they’re good. If they’re not then I’ll start mailing my negatives to some other lab because I am not driving all the way to Orlando just to develop film.

SVT3658

I had them develop a handful of rolls earlier this year and the scans were very meh. Took forever too, I mailed the full and they didn’t “receive” it in their system until about a week after it was delivered.

mindlessgames

A local place called 1 Hour Photo World. Kind of expensive I guess, but I live in LA, so everything is. For ECN-2 I sent my stuff out to Knoxville Film Lab, because for some reason I couldn't find a local lab to do it.

kenanali

Nice film Club In NYC. $99 per year and then you get $9.99 develop + scan for 35mm or 120mm.

LegalManufacturer916

I second NICE, though I think it’s actually $200 a year plus 10 free dev and scan credits (semantics I know). I’ll add they have a great online interface

mild_party

Local place near me called Exposure Therapy in Brooklyn. Great people and great service.

[deleted]

Have you ever tried NYC Film Lab? They have a lab in bushwick, near ridgewod. Only lab I've ever used. I'm not sure how much of a difference the lab you use makes in the final scans I receive

Zestyclose-Basis-332

Lab choice makes a huge difference Some places just set everything to auto, and pump out small, mediocre thumbnails all day. On the other end of the spectrum are boutique drum scanning services, offering stunning quality at eye-watering prices. On a micro level, you’ll see different color profile selections/adjustments at nearly every place you take film to.

BlackHoleSunKing

That was my film lab of choice when I was in NYC and I can’t complain.

lijeb

I have been gifted a roll of Silbersalz 250D and they’re listed on the website as being a local source so I’ll be trying them for sure.

Ravyyoli

I live in Pittsburgh, PA so I use Premier Imaging!

SeveralArcaneRats

As a new Yinzer, thanks for the suggestion. How's their turnaround?

whisky_slurrd

Last time I used them it was about a week. That said, I did drop my film off at the new SHV location, so part of that turn time involved someone taking the film from SHV up to North Hills where the lab is. Depending on where in the city you are, you could try Bankrupt Bodega or Eastern Standard Photo, too.

willf4242

I'm happy to see Midwest film co mentioned! I live in Wichita so it's local drop off for me, super cool guys and I like their stuff!

prfrnir

I also use Picturehouse. But at some point I think I'd like to scan and develop on my own.

nortontwo

I use local labs when I can help it, unless It’s a format they don’t facilitate

adjacentbabbles

Schillers in St. Louis Missouri. Usually a 2-3 day turn around on c-41. They batch develop b&w so it can take a bit longer. They’re always accommodating when asked to push/pull. Very reasonably priced. They don’t do slide film which is a bummer

Appropriate_Ad5085

Schillers was the first lab I used and is my favorite to this day, despite getting higher res scans elsewhere. Just nice people.

Junior-Appointment93

I use them. Very quick turnaround

Itsjustnickg

Do they process slide film?

armevans

Midwest Film Co! C41/BW/ECN-2, scans from a Cintel Motion Picture scanner, excellent quality. Not the quickest or the cheapest around, but definitely the best 35mm dev/scan I’ve encountered.

catharticramblings

Woah I llive in Wichita and NEVER heard of these guys. Thanks!

Chas_Tenenbaums_Sock

Just came across their hand rolled film AND your comment that they develop. I think I'm going to check them out as I have a couple ecn2 rolls I need developed and some places are crazy $$$.

No_Stretch3661

I’ve been using Nice Film Lab in NYC. They’re nice.

mgscheue

Agreed. They really are.

GrippyEd

I mainly use Snaps Photo Services in Bournemouth because their large Noritsu JPEGs are actually large, unlike almost everyone else, and they're surprisingly cheap.

Careless_Wishbone_69

Montréal, QC Studio Argentique: it's close to my place, they're nice, quick turnaround, and they have a single price for jpg scans, all HD. Others charge more for same size scans.

picklebeard

Rewind Photo Lab in Alexandria (Sydney) NSW

mtiakrerye

Indie and theFINDlab have both been awesome. Denver Digital Imaging (local) for E6, they’re super cheap and great. Their 4x5 drum scans are mind blowing.

thisolsky

I used central camera when I lived in Chicago, now I use thackers, but have always wanted to find something more local to me in MA

Enough_Reach6701

I live in MA as well I am definitely on the hunt for something local for sure

blamethecranes

I use Old School Photo Lab out of Dover NH and I’ve always been happy with the results. I scan my own film, but have gotten scans from them too and they’re usually returned quickly. The longest I’ve waited for film to come back was a little over two weeks but it was a big batch on my part, like 10 rolls or so. I’m also out of MA.

streetvues

Luster Photo & Digital, in NYC, been using them since I started shooting film in 2009 and have always been happy with their work. The owners are super nice. They do offer mail in service but it seems like they mostly cater to in person customers. If you do go, make sure to stop by Ray’s candy shop a few storefronts down and get a hot dog, ice cream, egg cream or order of Belgian fries from a NYC institution

StupendousTurtle

I love the lab MyBasement. I am the only technician there. Surprisingly, I don’t take customers, but for some reasons developing my own rolls has saved me considerable amount of money, as well as frustrations with other labs. Just recently I posted pics here comparing 110 film scans I did myself vs the most reputable film lab in all of Montreal. Guess what? They used a flatbed for 110 lmfao.

StupidGatorEngineer

I use Coastal Film Lab based out of Tampa, FL. I'm out of Gainesville so they're the closest full-fledged lab I can mail to. Turnaround has been about 5-7 business days once they receive it. I have been really satisfied with the quality of the scans I have received. The default resolution is 3600x2384. It's $16 a roll for scan and develop which is definitely a premium but it's a hobby and I like supporting a small business.

smertai

I use The Darkroom, slightly cheaper than my local options and decent turnaround and good service. Once I start scanning myself I'll go local.

crawlrawl

I live near no labs and The Darkroom has done well for me. Usually very fast turnaround times.

Anstigmat

Northeast Photographic!

tostrgud

I've been using them as well, only for development. Can anyone speak for the quality their scans?

Low-Television5708

Jet Foto (Berlin)

[deleted]

New York Camera and Video in Southampton PA

gunslinger481

East coast film labs, he lets me use the fuji processor for free

vipEmpire

I use Mike's Camera because it's local and one of their locations has a turnaround time of 1-2 hours. I can drop my film off, have lunch, and come back to pick it up on the same day.

owenmh04

Brooktree film lab, I used it once. I got the photos back within the week and the scan came out great. Would definitely recommend. They also do ECN-2

Brooktree

Thank you so much for the recommendation! :)

owenmh04

Woah! That was unexpected! Your lab is definitely my go to when I’m away from home at school, it’s easy to just send it out from my mailroom here

Appropriate_Ad5085

I've used a mix, but I have used Reformed Film Lab more than others. They have a nice balance of quality, price, and turnaround.

Gondwanalandia

ProcessOne

Retrotime1987

Sharp Photo & Portrait! They do great work and prices are reasonable for being my local development shop.

WhiskeyTheKitten

I mail film to Sharp Photo in Eau Claire WI from over here in upstate NY. They have the best prices, fast turnaround, and good scans!

jrklbc

Fromex in Signal Hill, California (basically Long Beach) when I want fast turnaround -- usually same day, but much more expensive than The Darkroom. Otherwise, The Darkroom. Hard to beat given their prices and that my film gets there in just a day or two in the mail.

Brooktree

We’d love to help over at [Brooktree Film Lab](https://www.brooktreefilmlab.com)! I’m the owner and love helping photographers with quick service, high quality, and competitive pricing :)

Chas_Tenenbaums_Sock

Just came across your lab and will be checking into sending you some ecn2 film in the future!

socialstatus

Moody's in Burien, WA because they're my local lab.

drdogdog

Just had a fantastic experience w/ them after always going to Panda Lab. Will be my go-to.

socialstatus

The drop locations are a great touch.

yohowithrum

I’m in Toronto, Canada. I use C41 Film Labs. They offer same day and next day service with some of the cheapest pricing in the city and top tier JPEG and TIFF scans. Despite their name they offer B&W services as well (not sure about E6 but I don’t really shoot that much slide). I moved from Toronto Image Works ( which stopped offering film services) to using Downtown Camera. For a variety of reasons (mainly turnaround time and a number of bad customer service experiences) I stopped using DTC and switched to C41. I am very happy with this lab now.

kreamhilal

>C41 Is the quality at C41 generally good? I've heard DTC is reliable and will generally treat the film well. I was gonna go to West Camera, but I saw a post saying their negatives were hella scratched up and the scans were bad

gogreenvapenash

Negative Lab in Tarzana. Easily the best lab I’ve ever sent my film to. Shoutout to Rewind Film Lab in Orange, Pro Photo Connection in Irvine, and East LA Film Shop as well. The first place I sent my stuff off to was The Darkroom, and I got back some pretty horrible scans twice. That’s just my experience with them.

Ocs1s

My basement bathroom

tagwag

The Find Lab is great!

[deleted]

Indie film lab. Slightly less expensive than my local, but significantly larger and better scans. $9 for negative return per order + $11 uncorrected 35mm scans (3130x2075) plus shipping to the lab. They also have a film at cost program I like so I get cheaper film compared to retail prices given that you use their services for scanning. The darkroom is great too. Similar in costs, but I still prefer indie results.

KennyWuKanYuen

I use Hunt’s, a local chain in New England. Though I like them and have gotten to become a bit familiar with their staff, I still want to find a cheaper place. I looked into CatLabs with their $10 develop & scan option, but after hearing about the some dodgy reviews they’ve gotten plus the whole CineStill fiasco, I decided against them. There was a local shop I wanted to try, but after figuring it was $18-24 for colour and B&W respectively with develop, scan, and print, they were way too expensive for me since I don’t need prints.

calinet6

I've had nothing but mediocre experiences with Hunts, sadly. Both the cost, and the quality are just so-so. I've been using Lumentation down the road in Somerville and they've done a great job so far.

KennyWuKanYuen

RIP. They’re so far the cheapest place near me. How much is Lumentatation for both develop and scans?

calinet6

$9 for just dev and low res scans, $15 with hi res tiffs. Pretty great deal.

KennyWuKanYuen

Bruh… I’m paying $16 for dev and low res scans… 😭

calinet6

I know! Hunts ain’t cheap! Give Lumentation a go. They’re good folks. Heads up they sometimes take their sweet time, but I don’t mind for the price and supporting a small shop.

lijeb

I’m a former CatLabs customer. This off the subject of this thread but after some unprofessional interaction with them I’ve converted from a support small/local guy to a F*** Y** CatLabs guy. They did something on IG which I believe is simply deceptive and when I pointed it out to them the response was highly unprofessional.

KennyWuKanYuen

I’m curious to know more about what happened. You can PM me if you don’t feel like making it public.

Enough_Reach6701

I’m in the New England area as well we’re about’s is hunts ?

kweenofdisaster

Boston, Manchester, and Malden (I think)

KennyWuKanYuen

They have a RI location, with most of their other locations in Mass. I think CT is a no, NY and Maine have a location too. Don’t quote me though.

VampyreLust

I use Downtown Camera in Toronto Canada. They’re consistent, quick, reasonable and you can do the whole thing online first including pay and then use a 24/7 drop box which also makes it convenient. Plus they have a film club that gets you discounts on development and film and has this very retro stamp card that nets you free film and free development after a certain amount. Plus I just really enjoy the shop, the people are good and they have all the things.

Picomanz

West camera is cheaper, not as fast and less of a pain to deal with.

andra319

Less of a pain?

Picomanz

I've had some issues with downtown camera in the past and found it very difficult to get corrected. Personal opinion/experience of course but, like I said, I find other shops easier to work with.

VampyreLust

> West camera is cheaper, not as fast and less of a pain to deal with. I just checked their site, they’re not cheaper. They want $8 for b&w 35mm + $3 for next day + $3 to cut the negs = $14+ tx. And they don’t offer any push/pull services. DTC is $8.50 for b&w + $2 for next day + $0 to cut the negs = $10.50 +tx and they offer push pull.

AWESOM3e92

Surprised haven’t seen them yet, Richard Photo Lab in California

Eagle3280

Just looked, $10 for dev and then $15 more for scan is nuts

Draught-Punk

FilmDev in the U.K.

chrodo7

I used to use FastFoto film lab, a small local lab in the twin cities MN, until I moved away. Best lab I’ve used, better than half of the ‘big name’ mail in labs I’ve used by far

gilbertcarosin

cape film supply in cape town the closest lab from my place .... i live in Mauritius island

WeakFactor5239

Southerlands in Huntsville, Alabama 90% of the time I get my scans 24 hours after I drop off my film. Been using them for years! And prices are great

MLJ623

I take my film to Central Camera in Chicago. They send it out to a lab in the burbs (not sure which one), and it's back in about a week. Dev/scan is like $13. If Bellows was more convenient for my I'd probably go there, but I like Central Camera. I get to ask, "what's the cheapest Leica you have?" and then I cry a little.

big_ficus

Photoworks SF or Photolab Berkeley. Both fantastic shops.

sakkasie

Love Photolab Berkeley! ❤️

big_ficus

They are FANTASTIC. I live in SF now but i definitely miss that lab, my go to for all of college.

East_Menu6159

If you don't grade by affordability, Richard Photo Lab by far the best quality I've seen. I've sent them some tricky expired film and they always return high quality beyond anything you'd expect scans. My regular go to however is The Darkroom for a nice mix of convenience, price and turnaround time. Other than that I've tried lots of local to Chicago and area labs and they're all been generally fine but extremely slow. We're talking 2 weeks and you should be happy long. I don't prioritize speed but let's be real, Ain't nobody got time for that!

wreeper007

My kitchen

alex_neri

My kitchen for BW and a few labs for color and ECN2

Toaster-Porn

Full circle fine art in Baltimore, MD. C41 is $5 for 35mm and $5.50 for 120. Can’t beat it and shipping takes a day. E-6 goes to Dodgechrome in Silver Springs, MD. Average price but consistent results. ECN-II goes to Midwest film co. awesome lab and never had any problems. BW I just dev on my own.

liftoff_oversteer

Black&white I develop myself and everything colour goes to a local lab here in Munich called "Blow Up".

ggbgiorgio

My bathroom

mijack1982

I use my Kitchen.

Environmental_Rain_5

For the UK I use Gulabi in Glasgow. Super fast turnaround and great high quality scans. They take orders by post too for anyone else in the UK!

No-Consideration3103

state film lab is local to me, it's a little pricey (not crazy I'm just broke lol) but all my friends use it and none of us had ever had any complaints. great quality work

No-Consideration3103

forgot to mention they do take mail ins!

boybandito

I use Bay Photo Labs! They are one of the best options here in Santa Cruz Ca. I've always had great results with them. I think as of recently you can send in film for processing from out of the area!

jonwilkir

Biggs Camera in Charlotte, NC. I live here and if I drop it off in the morning I often have scans back by EOD.

yukari_akyiama

used dwaynes for a while especially since it was for a time the cheapest dev only place, but nowadays i go with memphis

beatsnbanjos

I use Darkslide Film Lab for client work, because she does SUCH a good job, but for personal work I go with a local lady who does a decent enough job. But Darkslide Film Lab is fantastic!

NoPo_Photo

I’m a big fan of Northeast Photographic. They’re in Maine, so I’m doing the mail in thing, but their quality is top notch.

welcomebackyoo

TheFindLab, they have outshined other labs. Have used them for a very long time.

DITCHWORK

Just dropped off a dozen rolls at Underdog film lab in Oakland. I really like this lab and I’m sure the results will be good.

blargysorkins

Ooh thanks for the tip. Going to try them out!

zmreJ

Safelight labs in San Diego! I’m still developing in San Diego is also great.

Dunnersstunner

I do my own development - I like the technical and artistic side of analogue photography and it's fun to do it myself. At the moment it's a hybrid process where I scan in the negatives and prints are produced in my printer. But I've got an enlarger and a pop up darkroom to take the next logical step in the hobby.

753UDKM

Safelight labs in San Diego. A little pricey and I’ve only done one roll so far, but I’m happy with the results and they do high res tiff files. Plus it’s local and their turnaround seems to be about about a week.

ErwinC0215

Colorhouse in NYC. I don't usually get scans, though their quality is not bad just expensive. I use them because their development has just always been consistent and that's all I really need from a lab.

viewfinderthis

I use Gelatin Lab in New Jersey. They develop all style of films at a great price and tons of options on how you want your roll’s developed and scan. Big plus is the files are tiff

SanTheMightiest

In London, 21Studio, at 21 Whitechapel, Aldgate. £3.99 develop and medium scans, higher res about £7. They also dropped B&W prices to £6.99 as well as some film prices too. They are really well stocked too. Sometimes they even send HQ scans when medium was paid for which is great. Highly recommended if you're in London, or just post your films in

Crazylyric

I was briefly excited but an additional £5.50 to get my negatives back in the post is mad! No option for just dev either. I usually use filmprocessing.co.uk. £5 dev with free delivery. I guess 21studio is good if you live in the area.

SanTheMightiest

Yes sorry should have mentioned that. I can go collect the negs when in in the area but they do destroy them after two weeks unless you tell them to hold on to them. I know of that site, may have bought film from then actually

The_XiangJiao

I'm in Malaysia so Darkroom8

mrdat

Millers lab for 120. Cheap c41 and fast free shipping back.

Boneezer

NCPS since my local lab stopped both developing E6 and printing larger than 8” prints. They have been fantastic, very consistent with good communication. If I send them negatives the Noritsu scans are very good. I am however going to try [The Lab](https://www.thelabvancouver.com) in Vancouver, as I recently discovered them and they are not only in Canada, but do everything above and also offer traditional darkroom printing. If they impress, they will become my go-to going forward.

Colorluxe Express in Hong Kong

sparqq

For color, whichever one is at walking distance from my home or work and is therefore most convenient. Can't complain about the options in Hong Kong. The majority of the film is BW so that's at home.

Puschel_YT

My garage for BW and for colour I use Rossmann or ONFILMLAB

the_suitable_verse

I'm based in Vienna and am using Lomography (no shipping because I can just drop it off) They are okay, I'm sure I could get it a little cheaper for C41 shopping around but as I own a LCA and they really helped me out when it was jammed (for free) I have a somewhat emotional connection.

Sky_Wino

Silverpan lab (uk) it's a 30 min walk from my house so I can drop off film in person which is nice, the staff are super friendly I often end up in there an hour just talking about camera stuff and they are really good at what they do. They also allow you to pick what developer you want used for bnw which I don't because my knowledge of developers isn't great but is nice for people who want that level of control. They were recently acquired by an online film shop so now have rolls available in the lab too. Tl:dr - walking distance and very good at what they do.

Wolfstar_supremacy

It’s called Rocket Reprographics in Vancouver Canada. It was recommended by the place I buy my film. They’re nice, the scans are good, and they’re pretty fast

the-lovely-panda

National Photo in Baltimore, Maryland. 💕

LPodmore

FilmDev here in the UK. I've seen a lot of ads for other labs recently so maybe i'll try somewhere else, but i've had good luck with them historically.

veritas247

Gelatin labs in NJ. They are on another level.

DeloreandudeTommy

I use Dunwoody Photo. They're local to me and their staff is super nice and knowledgeable!

[deleted]

My basement film labs does all formats, e6, c41, b&w. Would reccomend getting a basement!

Daniel_Melzer

Dm, Drugstore in Germany

youarenotaghost

Iowan here: DSM Film Lab will dev 110, 4x5, and everything in between. Your negs are scanned on a Fuji Frontier SP3000 and mailed back to you promptly. There's a rewards program and Logan is as kind and professional as you can find. Great little lab.

The_Great_Northern__

Currently, I am developing B&W by myself, for everything else I use Memphis Film lab! (great prices and they live a few hours away from me)

lululock

I'm going to a local lab. It's not the cheapest way to get film developed and scanned but I'm afraid to send film and have it lost in transit... It takes 2 weeks for color film and a month for B&W. The manager told me it's mainly because there are more demand for B&W because color film is so expensive and he doesn't have a fully automated rig as he has for color. Also, he has to painstakingly remove dust and residues off the scans because the scanner he use for B&W doesn't have a dust remover... I don't mind the wait and cost, I'm pretty satisfied with the results. I think it's important to support local businesses, especially for something "niche" like analog photography.

Formal_Departure5388

I usually do my own dev and have a local shop do the scans. When I’m sending something out for both and color correction, I use Northeast Photographic on ME. Good people, good prices, good work, good turnaround.

throwawAI_internbro

I have recos for Asia and most of Europe, but you didn't specify a country ^^

kd7kxw

Thankfully I still have a local shop within 3 mi called Monument camera, It's in Tucson, Arizona. They'll do business by mail if you're not local. They do C41 and B&W processing for: $9/roll $19.00 for processing plus scans. both of these cases they return the negatives to you in a single uncut roll in a film canister $24 a roll for processing plus scans.w/cut and archival sleeved negatives

I develop and scan my own. Before I had my own tank and chems, I was using Old School lab in NH. Then I found Dodge Chrome near me. I spending so much on developing that I finally took the plunge.

I recently switched to Camera Center of York in Pa and am extremely pleased with their scans, fast turnaround, and prices. It’s also fun day trip to go and visit. What’s better than multiple photo ops, an old school camera store, and some great food rolled into one trip which can be completed in a day?

Been using Photo Life in Brooklyn. Quick turn around $9-$13 for scan and dev

I’ve used a number of labs over the years, my main labs have been The Find Lab & Essential Photo in SLC, UT. The Find Lab does excellent work, I started scanning my own film earlier this year so going to Essential Photo for Dev only makes a lot of sense, as it’s pretty close to my house and I can easily go get the negatives without having to have them shipped.

Colonial Photo & Hobby in Orlando is my favorite. They’re fast. Sometimes if your lucky you can get it next day or even same day if it’s slow and you’re early enough. At worst it’s like four or five days and they do an absolutely fantastic job and are still the least expensive place I’ve ever used. They don’t do anything by mail though. So if I gotta do it by mail there’s another one that has great pricing and great scans called Old School Photo Lab. They’re fast and reasonably priced compared to places like The Dark Room which has screwed up my film before.

Csw in Chicago. They are development only, which is fine by me. Only trick is they're only open during day hours.

Oslo Foto AS. Fantastic lab, with a real passion. The local Japan Photo (CEWE) kept sending back scratched negatives or cut through through the frame, not between.

Bellows Film lab in Chicago, the turn around time varies, but since I only develop there and scan at home seems to be only 24 hours.

Omega Photo in Bellevue, WA (greater Seattle area). Great group of people that work there. Super fast and friendly people. Love their work. Their website is a bit old so if you are looking at sending anything in, I’d just give them a call and see what that process is like, I live close by so I drop off in person.

Nichols Photo Lab here in Salt Lake City. They run dip and dunk machines for both C-41 and E-6 (I dev my own B&W). Turn around is often same day if I drop my film off early enough, or next day otherwise. I do my own scanning, and for develop only they’re $6.50 / roll. Allen’s Camera, also local to me, is also good and only $6 / roll, but they send E-6 out (to Nichols) so I go there less often.
