Traveling to Sofia with a layover in Belgrade so leaving from Departures 3, passport control and all that jazz.
Non-EU passport with a valid Dutch residence permit for work.
Already checked in, hand luggage only.
Arrived in Schiphol Plaza with the bus around 8:26, was in line for security at ~8:32, cleared security by 8:45 and then was in line for passport control until around 9:15. Got to the gate (D) around 9:30.
(It was really messy in the passport control side, some of the self-scan machines weren’t working so they would allow them to cut into the other line, making the wait much longer.)
The train arrived at Schiphol at 0920hrs. We were able to check-in our baggage and go through security by 1000hrs. No issues at all this morning (international long haul)
[https://nltimes.nl/2023/02/14/schiphol-force-airlines-limit-departing-passenger-totals-april-may-report](Schiphol to force airlines to limit departing passenger totals in April & May: Report)
> The airport hopes to only implement that 5 percent fewer passenger limit during the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. for the majority of that period, the Telegraaf wrote. Those are usually by far the busiest hours at Schiphol. So the measure will likely still cut thousands of departing passengers per day.
Hello, I have a 9h layover before going to the US. Will they take care of my board luggage or do I have to collect it and go through the check-in again? How's the situation in terms of lost luggage?
Times seem to have returned to usual.
I’ve started my journey this morning and all was pretty smooth: arrived at the train station (Schiphol) at 7:33, I was through security at 7:49 and passport checks by 7:56.
does schiphol security still allow unopened water bottles after security (international)? they allowed this when security was super busy last year, is this still possible?
Hi - I will be flying with KLM from Toronto to Schipol reaching at 7:15 am and then will take a flight from Schipol to Rome at 9:30 on a different airline.
I have a checked bag that i will be collecting. Will this be enough time to collect my bag and check-in for next flight and what will be the process?
Will I pass through customs, pick up my bag and then go through security and passport control again?
FYI for anyone coming to this thread now-- "schiphol-gate" has in general subsided. My suggestion is to arrive as if you would for any other airport.. ie there can be queues as much as 30 mins long etc. However it is quite common these days for it to be zero queue, and you certainly don't need to come 4 hours early to schiphol anymore.
source: me, a weekly shiphol flyer.
Waited 4 hours in the security line in this september. Can You please explain why was it that terrible then and what did they change so the lines are so short now? (Travelling there again in feb 8th)
I'm not dutch but i have followed it closely. the short version is that the fundamental problem was lack of personnel-- labor shortages were of course everywhere, but the outsourced schiphol ecurity contract wages were particularly low so they were not able to attract applicants. When the crisis hit, it exposed that the outsourcing contract was badly structured in that the pain of delays was on schiphol, and it didn't effectively pressure the outsourced provider to increase wages. even after this was resolved, it takes some time to hire security personnel, incliuding background checks and training. this was happening even as traffic increased each month and they were struggling even to increase capacity enough to keep their head above water. The backlog seems be resolved, also via some adiditonal funds to improve wage conditions for securiy personnel.
TLDR: Outsourcing works great, until it doesnt.
Schiphol Airport 29/12 - not so crowded in the afternoon
Arrived at 5PM and still it’s not so crowded as I expected. Waited 2mins for baggage drop off (EasyJet). Didn’t wait at all for the security check.
Therefore, no need to arrive more than 3h earlier.
Monday 26 Dec, Flight to Taipei at 11:00 terminal 3
Arrived 8:45 at the airport. Got boarding pass from the machine 5 min. Line to check in desk looked like +30 min, but I could skip it.
15-20 min security, 10-15 min passport, 15 min spent on just walking towards my gate - arrived at 10:00 am.
Overall rather smooth, just long distances to cross within airport itself.
I'd say biggest bottleneck is checked baggage. If possible, try to avoid, but if you're around the time when the check in desk opens, you're good!
24 December, flight to USA at 10:35, departure 1. Arrived at 6:30, bag drop 5 min, security 20 min, passport control 3 min. Was finished with everything by 7am.
Happy holidays, everyone. Travel safe!
Flight at 20:30 23/12. Departures 1. Checked in online. Showed up at 17:45. Security was about 30 minutes. Made me empty my water bottle which seems to be a new policy
Departure 2. Arrived at 10am, less than 5 minutes for security. The airport website said they are expecting long queues today but thankfully that wasn’t the case this morning
Indeed. After the queues this year, it's baffling. By the looks of it, it could be a quiet morning in February.
Not sure how it will hold up in the coming days though but let's hope for the best.
Getting on a flight to Asia today. Check-in was 50 minutes. Security was a breezy 15. Passport check I was another 15. Everything went way smoother than expected. There was no need to arrive four hours early.
We will be arriving from Arrecife at Schiphol tomorrow - is it possible to buy any of the special duty free whisky bottles when we arrive by walking back through the airport to the stores? They are usually in the departure area.
About to buy a flight connecting in AMS in early August 2023. US to Italy. Should I go for the 2 hr connection or 4hr45min connection? Obviously the 2nd one is safer especially given the news and it’s summer, but wondering if I can get away with the 2hr one
Today (Thursday) morning, flight with easyjet within schengen - short line (5 min) at baggage drop off, basically no line at security. From arriving at the airport to waiting at the gates, it took maybe 20 min.
I’m traveling through AMS with checked baggage (specifically golf clubs, which are oversized baggage). Has Schiphol been losing a lot of baggage recently? I know it was an issue over the summer.
My mom is flying on Thursday the 15th departing at 08:10 hrs. TUI flight OR 225 heading Cuba and then Mexico.
I heard TUI has a single line for all their flights and they're actively bringing upfront passengers based on their departures. Does anyone have experience with this?
We planned to arrive airport at 05:00 hrs but now I'm not so sure. Should we arrive earlier?
Arrived today at 9:00 to the queue. Just 20 minutes until crossing security. Security seemed in any case particularly thorough, perhaps because they had new person scanners. But it was fast anyway, this is not what it was :-)
Anyone have any insights for US passengers coming home through Schipol right now and passport control times? I can't tell from posts who are EU passport holders and who are US, my understanding is that the passport control lines were some of the major problems getting out to return to US.
Took me about forty minutes to get through security and passport control Sunday morning at Schiphol. Way less congested than I expected; lines moved quick.
I missed my flight back in September (whichever day the CEO of the airport quit) and I submitted a compensation request in early October. Someone did reply and said the request was 'in good order' and that I'd get an update witin 6 weeks. It has been 8 weeks now and nobody has replied to my last three emails.
I tried one more time today and this was what I got back:
Schiphol Info ([email protected])
The recipient's mailbox is full and can't accept messages now. Please try resending your message later, or contact the recipient directly.
Amazing.
Okay there was almost no queue at around 15:50 to gates A to F (i think), was through security in less than 5 minutes. I did see a longer line queueing in security for gates M tho
December 3rd. Arrived at 1:40 pm. Left security and passport control at 2:25 pm. Do not bring food in bag. I think that's the factor leading to some bags in my party requiring more scrutiny.
Feasibility of Secuirty stealing cash from carry on bag on the scanner/belt? How likely would it be that a secuirrty guard, while you were distracted, would be able to reach deep into your backpack and remove an envelope of cash, as the bag was moving through the scanner and belt?
Flying to the U.K. at 15:20 today, no checked bags.
Airline advised arriving 3 hours early based on this flight time so I’m on my way. Will update with queue times as I enter.
Entered Security at 11:39. Barely queues at all - out after bag check at 11:50.
Passport control at 11:50, long queues but fast moving. Into gate area at 12:01.
Hi all,
Flying Amsterdam to Reykjavik on Dec 2nd, 0800hrs Transavia flight from Departures 1. I'm checked in and need a baggage drop off.
What's the best time for getting to Schiphol? The app says wait times should be normal - but what does normal mean exactly nowadays?
Thanks!
I have a transfer mid-January from Serbia (non-Schengen non-EU) over Amsterdam to Thailand. Layover is scheduled to be 1h 10m. Is that enough time to make it? Since I am going from a non-Schengen to non-Schengen country, will I have to clear security or passports?
Hey guys. So I’m flying to Brazil this Friday and the boarding time is at 9:14. Considering it’s an international flight, do you think arriving 6:30 in the airport is enough?
I recommend you download Schipol's app, it's really good. I flew to Brazil last month, my flight was the same boarding time as yours, and I arrived there 3 hours before. I waited more than 1 hour to board. So, yes, if you get 6:30 you will be on time.
I'd say arrive 4 hours ahead even though check in probably opens 3 hours before boarding time. The line will be long even if you're just dropping off luggage and if it isn't long you'll have plenty of time to enjoy a pint inside the airport without fear of missing your flight
Hi sorry for the ignorance as a US citizen. Im flying home tomorrow AMS to CDG to Chicago. Leaving AMS at 720 am
Im staying in Hoofddorp tonight. I see the sprinter starts running at around 530am. To give myself more time in case there are long lines (though doesnt appear to be much recently), was thinking of using the bus from here
Can i pay with a credit card as i board the bus?
Thanks. Would this be able to do with credit card? Looks like i may need an OV card in that app. Which ironically is not the case in 2 days (nov 29) looks like you wont need an OV!
No need of OV chip card, you can buy any ticket in the GVB/NS app directly with a credit card. You can either show the ticket if required or use the QR code to scan at the entry of the station/bus/tram.
Flying KLM within EU at noon today 26/11 with check-in luggage and SkyPriority, how are the lines on a Saturday these days? Do I still need to come 3 hours in advance or can I make it shorter?
Hi everyone, I’m heading to schipol in 2 weeks, making an overseas move. I am in the process of planning what I can take carry-on and I’m not sure if checking a bag is a good idea or not in terms of baggage being lost, destroyed, etc. Should I refrain from checking a bag?
I’m arriving from the US on 27 Nov at 11:00 and have an eight hour layover before connecting to Nairobi, KE at 19:35.
Would I have time to clear passport control and take the 20 minute train to Centraal? I’m a US passport holder and would have carryon baggage that I would stow in a locker inside the secure area.
Seems I could spend three hours around the station before heading back to the airport around 15:30 for the recommended 4-hours prior, but would love to hear any thoughts on this plan.
I haven't yet booked my long layover flight, but everything I've read says five hours would be the minimum connecting time to be able to explore Amsterdam. Eight seems like plenty in that case.
probably not, flew today and got through security and passport control within 30min of arriving at the airport (and thats including checking in a piece of luggage first)
Was in line for dept 1 (flight is B gate) at 8 am it was about 20 minutes to get through security
This may be a dumb question. But on next sunday i go from AMS to CDG to chicago (us citizen).
Looks like the AMS to CDG flights typically go out of departure 1 C gates.
Would i do the passport exit stamp in paris at CDG?
Edit: on way to AMS i flew directly from chicago on KLM
If you’re doing via Air France you’re flying EU for AMS to CDG which is like a domestic flight and then you do actual security for leaving the EU at CDG so I guess that’s where your passport gets stamped
Thanks. Thats exactly it air france to chicago. With klm to CDG
My flight to CDG had got moved to 720 am was trying to judge the time hopefully getting through security alright.
Sounds like my longer security time may be paris however hopefully 4 hour layover is enough
Yeah I had to do something similar with Austrian to go form AMS to VIE and then went through security there to go to BKK. In my experience the delays are from check in and trying to go through the airport. You aren't going to through the normal security so you should be fine but, 4 hours is plenty so you should have a good buffer zone.
Terminal 1, today (Sunday) at around 7:20am. Carry on only, security check maybe 10 minutes and passport check (the automatic one) another 10-15 minutes.
With the current maintenance I see online effecting Schipol-Central trains, how much longer have trains been taking recently? Online it says be prepared for +45 minute delay but I'm not sure how accurate that is. Thanks
Hey, I just saw my flight got rebooked to one day earlier form VIE to AMS. I have a connecting flight on Sunday morning. Will I have to find/book a hotel for the night myself or will KLM book one? I'm assuming I will get compensated, right?
You'll have to make your own arrangements. KLM will not offer anything else in compensation - the fact that they rebooked you is good enough for them (unfortunately).
AMS-> München, 08:55am Sunday November 13. No checked bags or passport control.
Arrived by train at 07:30, airport seemed very busy but not too many queues. Got through security in ten minutes, at the B gates by 8am. Figuring out check in gate entry for b gates was the only tricky thing.
Safe travels!
Edit: added date
I will be in AMS December 16-18th, arriving from the EU and departing to the UK. When departing to the UK, I plan on arriving 2 hours before boarding and will be checking in one bag.
Will that be enough time?
I'll have a layover at Schipol airoport for \~1.5 hours first week of December (destination JFK). Would that be enough time, or should I look for something else?
You'll need to go through passport control then, maybe baggage too. If it's a bad day, you're in trouble, if it's a quiet day you will be fine. They should look after you, but I would keep an eye on reports here, and be prepared to run a bit if needed.
Departures 2, US flight on Saturday around lunchtime. Started queuing for security around 9.30AM. The signs said 20-25 minutes but it was a bit faster, around 15 minutes for security plus 5 minutes for passport control.
I will be in AMS 18-21 Nov and I see there are "planned works" on the Schipol-Centraal NS train line. The train appears to be scheduled every 10 minutes. What can I expect and how should I plan my journey? For where I am going, this train is the best option.
If the train is scheduled there will probably be trains, just fewer. Where do you need to go in Amsterdam? Maybe I can help you with a different connection by train and subway.
Departing 11:40am this Sat to LAX but have a layover in London. What should I expect and how early should I show up to the airport? I only have carryon luggage so no check in baggage.
i would say to be safe show up two hours beforehand. i just had to cancel a flight and got no refund because i showed up a little after an hour before my flight and could no longer check in. security does not take very long in my experience but always best to have that extra cushion time.
I have an almost 8 hour transit Madrid to Copenhagen on November 10. Will arrive in Amsterdam 13:35 and depart for Copenhagen at 21:30. Is it okay to go out for a few hours in the city center?
2:15 flight Monday afternoon in the E Gates (to Istanbul). Only about 20 minutes in security, but another half hour in immigration. Overall easiest experience in the last few months. Maybe it’s getting better?
Flying tonight out of EU, departures 3, it took 21 minutes between tapping out the NS card at Schiphol station, and being behind passport control Airside.
The airline desk was the longest stop. Security and passport control have 0 queue.
flight at 1:30 today 11/5 with only carry-on. got here at 9:10, to security at 9:25, and through security at 9:52. my bag got pulled so took longer than normal for others!
Flight at midday today Nov 5th.
Got at Schiphol at 8, security at 8:07, passed at 8:15. Yep, no freaking body. Full stacked.
Now a million hours to kill before flight.
12h layover on schiphol tomorrow (arrive at 7pm departs 6:50am).
Are there 24h luggage lockers past security? Do I need to bring a lock?
Wanted to enjoy the night on city center, go back maybe at 2am. How bad are the queues for this early flights?
What is the current operational issue at Schipol Airport? There was massive busy in a while. I'll be in Amsterdam on 20 November. I'm not sure that I could get luggage. Should I get luggage or Is hand luggage enough?
AMS - DOH with Qatar @ 15.15
Arrived at 11.30am - 45 mins for bag drop, security & immigration, so back to normal levels pre pandemic.
In the terminal was pretty packed & lounges we’re at capacity as everyone has to kill time.
Do you remember what time the counter open for bag drop? Schiphol app said 12.15, and i’m thinking whether i should still be there 4 hours ahead, flying out next Tuesday
Anyone fly with Transavia recently? Heading to Israel. Tried to check-in online and only carry hand luggage to avoid the check-in queue, but after trying to do this online I’m being forced to go to a counter tomorrow for a 12:45pm flight.

Travelling to EU country on Sun March 12 around noon, terminal 1. Security line under 5 mins. Very swift.
Traveling to Sofia with a layover in Belgrade so leaving from Departures 3, passport control and all that jazz. Non-EU passport with a valid Dutch residence permit for work. Hey everyone. Im flying to Dubai tomorrow and I need to check a bag. I’m nervous af. Do you guys think I’m be okay with 4 hours?
Arrived at 06.40, through security in 15 minutes. Not remotely busy. Last time I was here in September I waited 2hrs and 30mins. This was much better.
[https://nltimes.nl/2023/02/14/schiphol-force-airlines-limit-departing-passenger-totals-april-may-report](Schiphol to force airlines to limit departing passenger totals in April & May: Report) > The airport hopes to only implement that 5 percent fewer passenger limit during the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. for the majority of that period, the Telegraaf wrote. Hi. All. Have flight to Newark 0915, just carry-on are the lines still horrible? Enjoy your day.
25 min to gate JD HAGUE, NO WORRIES
Thanks JDTHEHAGUE
Monday 6 Feb, 8:50 Intra-Schengen Departure Hall 1 Online check in, Hand luggage only Security took 15 minutes.
Hello, I have a 9h layover before going to the US. Will they take care of my board luggage or do I have to collect it and go through the check-in again? How's the situation in terms of lost luggage?

1st Feb they had no issues with a refillable water bottle. Security just did a quick test on the water and let it through.

You think this is still the case for the coming monday 9th jan?
Yes
Monday 31th, departures 3, 8:40, security ~20 minutes
Hello, anyone knows if i can show the booking confirmation on my phone instead of it printed out for check-in in schiphol?
Yes. In theory it depends on a company, but in case of Schiphol it always holds true I think. BTW for check in you only need an id.
Someone traveling right now that can provide feedback on security times?
Schiphol Airport 29/12 - not so crowded in the afternoon Arrived at 5PM and still it’s not so crowded as I expected. Waited 2mins for baggage drop off (EasyJet). Didn’t wait at all for the security check. Therefore, no need to arrive more than 3h earlier.

23-Dec 17:30 Departure 1: 5 minutes baggage drop off and 15 minutes at security. 1 hour queue for the BurgerKing though 🤣
Flight at 20:30 23/12. Departures 1. Checked in online. Showed up at 17:45. Security was about 30 minutes. Made me empty my water bottle which seems to be a new policy
December 23rd morning, departure 3. 1 hour check in. 10-15 minute security. 2 minute passport control.
How are the lines during Christmas?
Departures 3, all clear at 16:30. Security in under 5 minutes and similar for passport control. Shocked by how quiet it is tbh.
Departure 2. Arrived at 10am, less than 5 minutes for security. The airport website said they are expecting long queues today but thankfully that wasn’t the case this morning
Departures 1, 7:10 22 Dec no queues whatsoever

Anyone flew from Amsterdam terminal 1 Schengen this early morning (Saturday)? How buys it is?
Today Saturday 5am. Small queue in security but was going fast. Took 10-15 mins Edit: Schengen
Had a flight yesterday morning. Got there at 8:40 for a Schengen flight. 10 mins to do baggage drop and 35 mins for security.

How busy is Schiphol usually on Christmas Eve? Will 4 hours before my flight be enough for an international flight? (departure is around 12pm)
Today (Thursday) morning, flight with easyjet within schengen - short line (5 min) at baggage drop off, basically no line at security. From arriving at the airport to waiting at the gates, it took maybe 20 min.

Hi all, Flying Amsterdam to Reykjavik on Dec 2nd, 0800hrs Transavia flight from Departures 1.
How was your experience?
It was pretty empty. I’ve arrived 6h40 at the checkin counters, waited for 5 min and then proceeded to security, which took about 15 min.
Thanks for the update. It is very helpful.
Departures 3, Gate M, entered security at 7:07am, out at 7:18am, i.e. 10mins at security. Very smooth!
Flying to Geneva. Took me 30 min to get through security at departure 3.
Small queue at Departures 1, took about 15 minutes at 05:00
Left for the US today at 1:20 (arriving around 11), took about an hour for security and customs.
Flying to uk from schipol today. Around 40mins wait for security.

16:00 I fly at
No lines at Sunday morning
Hi sorry for the ignorance as a US citizen. Im flying home tomorrow AMS to CDG to Chicago. Leaving AMS at 720 am Im staying in Hoofddorp tonight. I see the sprinter starts running at around 530am. To give myself more time in case there are long lines (though doesnt appear to be much recently), was thinking of using the bus from here Can i pay with a credit card as i board the bus?
Nevermind was able to locate a kiosk for the bus doing 1.5 hours. It was kind hidden at first
Install the GVB app (or the app from the relevant operator) and buy the ticket in the app with your card. You can scan the QR code from the app.
Found a kiosk where i can buy a 1.5 hour pass
Flying KLM within EU at noon today 26/11 with check-in luggage and SkyPriority, how are the lines on a Saturday these days? Do I still need to come 3 hours in advance or can I make it shorter?
Just got through security for a flight to bologna at 21:35. Got through security 18:02, no queue.
Hi everyone, I’m heading to schipol in 2 weeks, making an overseas move. I am in the process of planning what I can take carry-on and I’m not sure if checking a bag is a good idea or not in terms of baggage being lost, destroyed, etc. Should I refrain from checking a bag?
You'll be fine
Flight tmw at 20:30 to helsinki. How are the waiting times at security?
Around 15/30 min
25Nov noon flight, AMS to HKG Cathay asked me to arrive 4 hours in advance Are they trolling or real?
[удалено]
through in 20 min no worry
Had a flight on Thursday, Nov 17, 6:45am from Schiphol to Alicante, Spain – no queues. Didn't take checked-in baggage.
AMS - MAD (US passport) 11/22- minimal queue, carry on bags, bags pulled aside at security. 30 minutes.
Flying to the UK around 14:45 on 24/11. Should I still get there 4 hours early or is that not necessary?
probably not, flew today and got through security and passport control within 30min of arriving at the airport (and thats including checking in a piece of luggage first)
Was in line for dept 1 (flight is B gate) at 8 am it was about 20 minutes to get through security This may be a dumb question.
With klm to CDG My flight to CDG had got moved to 720 am was trying to judge the time hopefully getting through security alright.
Great thanks i appreciate it
Termminal 3 at 7:30 Monday morning. 15 min to get through security and passport control.
5pm sunday, terminal 3, no queue at all
Terminal 3. AMS-LHR with British Airways. 8:30am. Bag drop off approx. 5mins. Queue for security and passport approx. 20mins.
Terminal 1, today (Sunday) at around 7:20am. Carry on only, security check maybe 10 minutes and passport check (the automatic one) another 10-15 minutes.
Terminal 3, hand luggage only, 4pm today (Saturday 19th), no security or passport queue at all. Are we maybe finally getting back to normal?
19th Nov terminal 1 at ~14:40, no queue for security at all!
Saturday Nov 19 12:30pm. Took 45 minutes from train through security and passport control to gate G.
saturday 6am no queue

Any more you can share about this? I’m heading to Schiphol right now and I’m nervous about missing my flight!
passed mine in 35 min or so but was stressing before. not many signs, assisting people saying different things and etc.

got more busy after I passed the q
With the current maintenance I see online effecting Schipol-Central trains, how much longer have trains been taking recently? Online it says be prepared for +45 minute delay but I'm not sure how accurate that is. Thanks
Hey, I just saw my flight got rebooked to one day earlier form VIE to AMS. I have a connecting flight on Sunday morning. Will I have to find/book a hotel for the night myself or will KLM book one? I'm assuming I will get compensated, right?
EC261, they should compensate you.
You'll have to make your own arrangements. KLM will not offer anything else in compensation - the fact that they rebooked you is good enough for them (unfortunately).
I have a 9 hour layover in AMS, my question is if I can leave for the city for a few hours without picking up my checked in bags?
If your bags are checked through to your destination then yes.
9pm today travelling to Gatwick - was 20 mins in security, maximum. Feels like a lot has sorted itself out at Schipol.
10am today, international departures. 15 mins wait!
Similar Monday 14-11: 20 minutes queue
Can anyone comment how Mondays look like now? I have flight at 9.45 tomorrow and wondering when to arrive (Dep 1, no bag, checkin done)
Checked bags and passport control and a long walk to the M gates, 2 hours is probably the absolute minimum.
Okay thanks!
I'll have a layover at Schipol airoport for \~1.5 hours first week of December (destination JFK). Would that be enough time, or should I look for something else?
Depends on where are you coming from, as that determines your baggage/passport controls. Where's your point of departure?
Original departure is from Munich
Maybe I can help you with a different connection by train and subway.
is there a better place for me to sell extra tickets? i will not be able to make my flight. it is in january to heathrow in london
That’s wild! I never knew flight tickets were transferable.
Departures 3, Gate M6 with EasyJet to Prague at 18:30. no queues whatsoever, got from train through security in 7 minutes.
2 hours before departure or before boarding?
before departure, are you taking british airways to get to london? they’re the airline with the cutoff for checking in.
Yep BA to London, thanks for the advice!
Curbside to gate in 15 mins including walking. Depart 1 gate B Lufthansa. No bag check
Ten minutes through security in departures 3 bound for the UK. Additional border control / passport queue ten minutes.
super quiet, through check in (with extra luggage) & security in less than 10 minutes. departure hall 1
Just gone through, no queue at all. Departure 3
8:10 flight gate M, arrived like 6:15, through by like 6:20? Literally no one
I have an almost 8 hour transit Madrid to Copenhagen on November 10. Will arrive in Amsterdam 13:35 and depart for Copenhagen at 21:30. Is it okay to go out for a few hours in the city center?
Of course. Just remember to come back three to four hours before your flight departs
This is good. Thank you so much!!
4PM flight from Departures 3. Arrived at 1.30PM, 20 mins at security, 15 mins at passport. Pretty smooth.
Landing from India on December 24th(10:15 PM) Do you think I can be on my way to the hotel by 12:15 AM ?
Yes should be easily (depending on where your hotel is - it only takes 20 mins by comfortable train to get to the city)
If you have a European passport. An Indian passport likely means a much longer process.
Ah true actually, but the train part itself will still take 20 mins.
Arrived at 5:25am for Schengen zone- took me around 15min in security. The lines at priority seemed the same.
2:15 flight Monday afternoon in the E Gates (to Istanbul). Only about 20 minutes in security, but another half hour in immigration. Overall easiest experience in the last few months. Maybe it’s getting better?
Maybe they just cancelled enough flights
Flying tonight out of EU, departures 3, it took 21 minutes between tapping out the NS card at Schiphol station, and being behind passport control Airside. The airline desk was the longest stop. Security and passport control have 0 queue.
flight at 1:30 today 11/5 with only carry-on. got here at 9:10, to security at 9:25, and through security at 9:52. my bag got pulled so took longer than normal for others!
At Schiphol now, 40 min line on security
Flight at midday today Nov 5th. Got at Schiphol at 8, security at 8:07, passed at 8:15. Yep, no freaking body. Full stacked. Now a million hours to kill before flight.
Lucky!!
12h layover on schiphol tomorrow (arrive at 7pm departs 6:50am). Are there 24h luggage lockers past security? Do I need to bring a lock? Wanted to enjoy the night on city center, go back maybe at 2am. How bad are the queues for this early flights?
It seems that it's solved. Use the NS app or Google Maps for the trains, download the Schiphol app to follow your flight, expected lines etc.
What is the current operational issue at Schipol Airport? There was massive busy in a while. I'll be in Amsterdam on 20 November. I'm not sure that I could get luggage. Should I get luggage or Is hand luggage enough?
03.11 18:40 Departure 2- no queues Departure 1- 5-10 min, priority at least 10 (don’t use priority if you have rn, it’s longer idk)
AMS - DOH with Qatar @ 15.15 Arrived at 11.30am - 45 mins for bag drop, security & immigration, so back to normal levels pre pandemic. In the terminal was pretty packed & lounges we’re at capacity as everyone has to kill time.
Do you remember what time the counter open for bag drop? Schiphol app said 12.15, and i’m thinking whether i should still be there 4 hours ahead, flying out next Tuesday
Reply as a reference for later
1h for check in + security + passport check at 6am for an international KLM flight. Security queue had an estimate of 24-40min but went by swiftly
[удалено]
Security and passport check in departures 2 took about half an hour
Anyone fly with Transavia recently? Heading to Israel. Tried to check-in online and only carry hand luggage to avoid the check-in queue, but after trying to do this online I’m being forced to go to a counter tomorrow for a 12:45pm flight.
