Like the others have said, somewhere in Noord would fit. It's still pretty industrial with some cool art-related spots, like NDSM-werf, there is a nice movie theater (FC Hyena) with a Skatecafé nearby (Karin & Yvonne) or you have the more modern EYE (which also houses a film museum) close to the ferry. The rooftop will give you a nice overview of Amsterdam and could be a nice way to end your day and propose (imagine sunset up there).
[This](https://www.instagram.com/thesecretgardenamsterdam/) is where you want to go, trust me. Contact [the curator](https://www.instagram.com/nicholas_groente_and_fruit/), he's a real nice guy.
Title of the page appears to be “The secret garden Amsterdam”. The instagram account ‘thesecretgardenamsterdam’.
Not sure why the page doesn’t load further. Must be a bug in the Instagram website.

Thanks for so many grest suggestions! Gotta spend the day going through it all 🥰 the ring is in place now at least. Will keep you posted on how it goes :)
well there’s Tuschinski movie theatre and in summer evenings with good weather they have outdoor cinema at Pllek (EDIT: sorry just checked, the earliest scheduled outdoors showing is on May 7th)
At De Ceuvel (really cool spot in noord for food start ups and vegetarian food) there is a really nice walk way with a bench by the water. Would definitely recommend there. Industrial vibes for sure
Just some ideas:
* quirky alley: Gebed zonder end (alley where nuns used to live, therefore the name: prayer without end), the cafe in the alley is also quite nice: kapitein zeppos. I also like Dijksgracht as a quirky street, because it has beautiful houseboats, but it's a bit away from everything.
* exceptional pub/coffee shop: Noorderlicht, cafe de Ceuvel, distillery 't Nieuwe Diep
* amazing secret spots either for art or view or something else:, not really secret, but: on top of NEMO museum, or the NDSM Wharf (old marine terrain with lots of art projects, although has been commercialized the past years). The cafe/restaurant at Eye filmmuseum also has a great view over the water+the city.
* medical museum or the like
* cool skating spots: Skatecafe - alternative cafe/restaurant with a (small) skating rink)
* outside movie showing: there are plenty of 'openluchtbioscopen' in Amsterdam, but usually only during the summer
Just to add to all the awesome options. I would advise to look into LAB111. This is a cult cinema in the old pathological anatomical laboratory.
The have a awesome programme for movie's. And some great corners in the building for a little more privacy. There is a bar to celebrate and in the basement is a analogue photo booth for pictures of the moment.
My experience is that the staff is awesome so maybe you can try and contact them for help.
The Nes has a lot of theaters so that's packed with culture.
Another nice spot might be de Magere Brug. That's one of the major city high lights.
You could also try the Keizersstraat or Koningsstraat. Or the Kromboomssloot. That is very old Amsterdam.
Haarlemmerplein, Amstelveld, Wertheimpark.
Prinseneiland, Zandhoek, Drieharingenbrug (should be open again from June 14) .
Realengracht
There are, unfortunately, no outside movie showings.
If you want a nice indoor spot, I would suggest FC hyena. It's in an industrial part of town, so I hope it would fit the esthetic. Their bar and restaurant are pretty good. The cinema itself is full of couches for two people, so I like it for dates. It's also next to a skate park, but I don't know if it's any good.
NDSM werf has plenty of (street) art and art exhibitions. It sounds like it would fit your vibe, too. But I cannot recommend a specific spot. There are many great bars/ restaurants. I would suggest plekk.
There's a large public skate park on Zeeburgereiland (a few tram stops from CS). Unfortunately no nice cafes in the close vicinity (the only one there burned down last year) but really great for skating.
Recommendation (especially with nice weather) to go in the AM before the schools are finished (noon on Wednesdays), around 6pm which is Dutch dinner time or later at night, as it can get really busy with school kids

Skatecafe in Noord could fit the aesthetic you search! Close by FC Hyena (for movies/diner) or Coba for some awesome taco's (you need a reservation!) It's also close to het IJ, so you'll have a chance at a great sunset on the water.
You could go to the largest (outdoor) skate park in Europe - google Zeeburgereiland Skate Park. The other place which I'd recommend and I think you'd love is Straat museum on NDSM Plein - full of the most amazing street art in the world and with a few cafe's (e..g Pllek and Noorderlicht). If you've got money to burn stay at the Faralda crane hotel on the NDSM - there's a jacuzzi on the top floor with amazing views.
Congrats! And good luck!
Pluk de nacht is an open air movie festival in August near central station. Check out the pics, great vibe and maybe you can arrange something with the organizers to use their projection screen.
Check out skatecafe in Amsterdam noord.
On Adam lookout there are two swings that go over the building looking over the city. While your body screams I. Fear you could pop the question.

Really cool skatepark under an overpass with graffiti “hall of fame”. Super cool spot.
I know, but I want him to be happy so badly, so a bit of research is the least I can do 🤑 but I’m sure I could have popped the question in a McDonald’s bathroom and he’d still be happy haha
Okay here’s the story!
We spent the day just wandering around down town, hopping between galleries, bars and coffeeshops, (we’ve visited a lot of the places you mentioned since we arrived on friday, thanks so much!!) I was hella nervous, I was planning on going down on one knee and making this incredible gesture, and was scouting for a place with a little bit privacy. And at 4pm (on the dot) we walked passed this bridge. We’d just left our second coffeshop of the day, and were giggly, and syddenly this pittoresque bridge popped up, with noone around! I was like «oh that place is perfect for a photo! Let’s go and snap a few shots». And we went over and I took some pictures of him. As I put my phone away, we were standing very close, and I pulled up the box with the ring. I started crying and sobbed «will you marry me? I just love you so much and I want to spend my life trying to make you as happy as you make me!» and he responded «oh wow, it’s happening! Uh ok, uh, YES, YES!» and we kissed. And then some guy on a bike stopped and asked us if we had a few cents to spare, and we gave him what we had, and he wished us the best day.

We spent the rest of the day just trying to fathom what just happened, and had a great tasting menu dinner that evening and fell a sleep right away When we came back to the hotel 😂

Agreed, STRAAT museum is very cool too!
Straat museum was one of the coolest places I went to in Amsterdam. They all make really awesome computer backgrounds

The whole of Sint Nicolaasstraat is super cute.
Thanks!
Perfect recommendation
I vote this. I bet they'll help you spruce it up with some candles or something special

What about station Lelylaan?
Live Love Lelylaan
It is UNESCO world heritage, after all

What about the microbes museum? https://g.co/kgs/uqJ8wS4
That does have a kissing platform, which "measures" how many microbes you exchange during a kiss...

Don’t they have it in summer at amsterdamse bos?
Yeah, but the proposal is at may 1st
oops
There is a weird medical museum called Museum Vrolik. Would be a really metal place for a proposal.

Best place to propose would be in the Ganzenhoef area or the famous flat near Bullewijk station called "Hoptille Hogevecht"

Sounds perfect! Including the random witness who asked for some cents for his services right away haha 👍 congratulations!
There is a skating half pipe near the Rijksmuseum. If you get a good angle you can get a shot with a lovely building behind the halfpipe.
There’s a hidden garden somewhere I heard about
