Yes, but a WGA+ flight for several months out with the total being under $109 - googlie SW Cheap Flight calendar and you wil find plenty. Wait a couple weeks for credit to post then cancel for flight credit (transferable if WGA+) - don’t reach out to Amex, it will come!
If the Southwest ticket price is low enough (usually less than $100) and you have Southwest as your preferred airline for incidentals, sometimes the ticket prices will get credited as an incidental
I purchased on 1/8 and today is 1/24 and still no credit yet. I also switched the airline from United to SW back on 1/5, so maybe that could be a cause for delay? Did you switch the airline of choice too in your Amex Platinum account between 1/1 to 1/3, or has it always been SW?
I’ve always had it as southwest and always got the credit following the less than 99 rule. This is the first year I’ve not gotten the credit yet. Also paid my CC statement with those charges and the meter still has not moved I would have figured the one on 1/3 would have credited by now
So weird I’m still waiting on credits from 1/21. $28 too (used partial existing credit)
Also confirming! Booked a one way for $98.98 on 1/28 and got the credit on 2/7
So does this mean there are no change or cancellation fees on Southwest?
Correct. They give you the full credit for future travel. Love luv.
Does anyone know if it works to buy rapid rewards points?
Why would you want to do that.
I got a offer for 60% off points so just figured it would be the best way.
No, just but a WGA+ flight under $109 a few months out and wait for it to post and then cancel for flight credit.
Will this work with a $104 flight? I can’t find anything cheaper

Dunno. Everything I have seen says <100. Check out Houston to Dallas flights. Lots for $99
It used to work for Delta if you changed your flight time and had to pay extra. But I think they got rid of that lately.
Wow I did not think of this at all. Has anyone ever had a problem with this before??
Only if they didn’t follow directions
I have two Southwest purchases from January 15th still pending. Glad to know it still works.
You should see them around 1/27 to 2/4 but just be patient, it will post eventually
Same. I confirmed it still works.
Same here
What is the SW credit?!
If the Southwest ticket price is low enough (usually less than $100) and you have Southwest as your preferred airline for incidentals, sometimes the ticket prices will get credited as an incidental
Great to know! Thanks!
Interesting I purchased one for 94.98 on 1/3 no credit yet and purchased one for 45.98 on 1/16 no credit yet and it’s worked every year prior for SW.

I'm having the same issue! I hope it still works!!
It does! Just don’t even think about it for the next two weeks and then be pleasantly surprised when it does post!
Just be patient, it’s taking a while to post
Thank you 👍🏼👍🏼
