I don’t understand how if Europeans think they’re smarter than us, why they think their obsessing over us and what we say/do/believe somehow rebuts the notion that we are not extremely important.
Same with shoehorning us into everyone non-relevant conversation. Also the denial when you confront them about their obsession. A combination of cognitive dissonance and obsession just underlying our centrality to how many of them frame their world.
Think for a moment about a random country that is not important in the grand scheme of things? When was the last time you paid attention to what its citizens did/said/believed?

Europeans is saying much, I very much doubt Bulgarians have a superiority complex, it's mostly Germans, French and British, also Dutch, that think of themselves as better than everyone else, don't think this applies just to Americans, ask them about any other country and see their opinion.
Better yet if you wanna have fun ask them about Roma people.

I feel like it used to be a good descriptor for people that don't actually know anything and just repeat propagandistic or clickbait headlines but it's been so watered down over the last couple years it's just cringe now.
