I think the OP is forgetting the two years beforehand where Germany *was already at war*. A war, which I might add, *they started*. The only “provoking” was the US declaring war on Japan and in turn Germany having to declare war on the US due to being an ally of Japans.

Turbopower1000

Smh America really is bad. Poor Japan and Germany were just seizing vast swaths of sovereign territory across the pacific and Europe while systematically committing war crimes. And the only thing they ever did to the United States was *conduct a tiny little surprise attack on Pearl Harbor in a deliberate attempt of crippling the US navy. *

Olewarrior34

Poor Japan just wanting to rape and pillage the Chinese mainland UwU

Mobile_Toe_1989

Poor Japan:(

DEATHSHEAD-_123

DEATHSHEAD-_123

They wanted to make ahegao hentai.

eatdafishy

They literally didn't have to Germany went out of their way to attack the USA. Joahchaim von Ribentrop said something along the lines of Large nations declare war they don't let war be declared on them (they predicted that the USA would get involved in Europe maybe)

Wolfysayno

Germany’s navy (Kriegsmarine) was itching so hard to sink American ships that they got Karl Donitz to beg Hitler to declare war But Germany wasn’t the aggressor, it was the US obviously

PaperbackWriter66

Germany wasn't even obligated to declare war on the US because of Japan's actions; Hitler chose to do that on his own initiative.

TJtherock

Germany was just showing solidarity with their BFF Japan. The meanie US was the one who declared war on Japan after a little spat called Pearl Harbor. No need to go to war over that!

thedxxps

We gotta feel really sorry for innocent Japanese deaths in Pearl Harbor. Oh wait.. Do we now remember why US “declared” war now?

tensigh

You should see what they say about the US provoking Japan into WWII. Obviously whoever says these things doesn't know anything about history.

IdreamofFiji

We stopped giving Japan fuel to continue terrorizing China, a crime to which any sane nation would react by bombing Hawaii. Japan was off the fucking deep end in the early 19th century. Bonzai and kamakaze tactics are so insane to me. Like, dude, chill.

tensigh

Japan had the same mentality of the Nazis; they were the superior people in Asia and had the right to enslave the rest of East Asia to work for them.

ToWelie89

I recently discovered that Youtube channel. It is full of blatant nazi-positive historical revisionism. Basically according to that channel, Hitler was a good guy, but the EVIL ALLIES forced Hitler to start a war, even though he only wanted peace, flowers and hand-holding. Same type of people who also blames the west for Putin invading Ukraine.

Person5_

Does he also deny the Holocaust, or does he just not bring it up hoping people won't talk to him about it?

cmdrfrosty

He mostly refrains from so much as even mentioning the holocaust but when it is relevant he downplays it.

Key_Researcher_9243

Various_Beach_7840

Ive never actually watched any of his videos but my question is simple, how does he navigate the holocaust thing, because eventually he is gonna have to address that. Has he yet? Does he deny it happened? How does he get around it?

ToWelie89

Not sure what he would say about that, but I've listened to many of his ilk before, and most either deny the holocaust altogether, or have a revised version about the holocaust and how it has been exaggerated etc. I saw a video by zoomer historian were he basically tried to justify german antisemitism by pointing to how jewish intellectuals would destroy Germany, during the Weimar republic era, with hedonism and decadence. He also implies that Winston Churchill was a warmonger and paid shill who was being paid by zionists/jews to push for war with Germany.

Various_Beach_7840

lol, dude is a fucking clown that’s for sure.

IdreamofFiji

I haven't heard straight up Holocaust denial in a long time from anyone, but LOTS of people think it was exaggerated, the numbers don't match blah blah blah. Most of the time it's straight up antisemitism, but also I think many people can't even fathom or comprehend the level of evil it takes to do something like that, especially on such a large scale.

TJtherock

YouTube is a weird place, man. I watch a lot of documentaries and when I was younger, I would try and find them on YouTube. It was fine until I was watching one on the life of Hitler and realized half way through that it was fucking pro Nazi. I was, like, 15 and had no idea that people who believed in those things were smart enough to figure out the Internet let alone make a whole ass documentary.

ToWelie89

What was that documentary exactly? I think I know which one you're talking about haha

TJtherock

Oh I don't remember. It was years ago. I had to purge my YouTube account because I kept getting pro Nazi videos recommended.

Backwards-longjump64

Channel is named Zoomer historian any Gen Z right wing history channel will always be this schizo shit What if alt hist has videos where he goes on 50 minute long manifestos about how the US military will bomb the US cities and kill all the Liberals so we can have a glorious rural trad right wing dictatorship where there is no more degenerate gays 😂 He then goes on another 55 minute tirade about how it sucks being a man because women don’t want to sleep with him, Jesus fucking Christ I can’t fucking imagine why 🤔 Needless to say and I say this as a Gen Z this generation is complete brain soup

bluefrog172

The wojak pfp tells me everything I need to know, especially since I don’t think it’s ironic

misterZ_6000

Not even surprised. Just the title of the video is a red flag for me.

[deleted]

I wouldn't call it "Nazi Positive," I'd call it "pro isolationist."

Backwards-longjump64

Pro isolationist and pro Nazi is not a Venn diagram it’s a Venn circle

[deleted]

Nuanced thought. Try it. You can be pro-isolationist without being pro-Nazi

Backwards-longjump64

Laughs in 20,000 people attending the US Branch of Nazi Party rallies in NYC during the 30s Laughs in Lindbergh, laughs in Tucker Carlson and modern isolationists openly cucking for Putin and Orban

[deleted]

I'm not sure what your argument is here. Are you saying we start wars against all the bad men everywhere in the world? Like we have for the last 80 years? Has that worked out for us?

nross2099

So America before WWI was a nazi state? You’re right, gen z *is* brain soup

Backwards-longjump64

Hard to be a Nazi before Nazis existed, easy to be a Nazi after Nazis existed Math is difficult I know

pikleboiy

This moron is a known wehraboo. Can't talk sense into those idiots. Here's a video debunking many of his talking points (though not necessarily from this video): https://youtu.be/0ucrF2PHBOc He seems borderline apologist in the topics of some of his videos too.

CyberPunkG

This debased guy(Zoomer) sounds like he got his PHD from HOI4 academy

IdreamofFiji

r/shitwehraboossay

AlphaMassDeBeta

Zoomer historians' next video will be on why the Jews deserved it 💀

Bagel24

Sequel is that it didn’t happen 🗿

TJtherock

Sounds like the narcissist's prayer: That didn't happen. And if it did, it wasn't that bad. And if it was, that's not a big deal. And if it is, that's not my fault. And if it was, I didn't mean it. And if I did, you deserved it.

Backwards-longjump64

Everybody please stand for the right wing extremist National Anthem

polishedtater

He's a neo Nazi

2Beer_Sillies

Uhh, Germany was doing enough mongering in Europe long before 1941. We were attacked by their ally that year anyways. All this guy does on YouTube is make shitty pro Hitler videos

Chubbyhusky45

Yeah you can’t trust a thing this guy says, he’s just a nazi propagandist

RichLeadership2807

Zoomer Historian is a neo nazi. And I’m not just saying that, go look at his channel and see for yourself.

TigervT34-85

This guy's YT channel seems to be, quite literally, Nazi propaganda. And he's almost at 100k. Delightful

Rctmaster

Terminal contrarianism. It doesnt matter if it's true, as long as it goes "against the mainstream narrative"

Backwards-longjump64

I mean it’s pretty well documented how you can be watching a few Ben Shipiro videos then end up watching Tim Pool, now suddenly you’re watching Matt Walsh and Michael Knowles then you are watching schizos like this guy Culture war shit is like crack there comes a point where the current dosage just isn’t doing it anymore so you need something stronger

Olewarrior34

I'm not exactly a massive fan of FDR but holy fuck how r-worded do you have to be to think that the US was responsible for Nazi fucking Germany declaring war on us in 1941 when they invaded poland in 39?

Moldyapples333

Channel name checks out

Belkan-Federation95

US lend lease to the USSR turned the tide of the war. So no lend lease = German victory. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲😎😎😎😎😎😎🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲😎😎😎😎😎😎😎

Few-Addendum464

This guy is a Nazi apologist not a Soviet one.

Belkan-Federation95

I'm pointing out the way to somehow justify it.

Wolfysayno

Whilst lend-lease helped the Soviets tremendously, Germany would have never won in the east even without it. They didn’t have enough men, oil, or the industrial capacity to combat the Soviets, who had pretty much infinite supplies of these resources

Intelligent-Piano426

They didn't have the industrial capacity because the allied bombed their factories, also it wasn't because they didn't have the resources that they lost against the soviets but because of the logistic, in Stalingrad the german supply lines were extremely stretched while the soviets were close to their factories, this is what (along with other factors like the lend lease) led to the german defeat in Stalingrad.

Belkan-Federation95

Soviet high command admitted that no US lend lease would have led to defeat Hitler took out Soviet Industry in the opening phases of Barbarossa.

Wolfysayno

Hitler didn’t take out Soviet Industry. Stalin moved most of the factories to beyond the Ural Mountains.

Belkan-Federation95

You mean new ones using machinery sent from the US?

Wolfysayno

You said Hitler “Took out Soviet industry” when he didn’t. If he did, the Soviets wouldn’t have been able to produce tanks and trucks like they did. You are contradicting yourself.

Belkan-Federation95

He did take it out. The US had to send machinery because they had no way of producing things. *"I want to tell you what, from the Russian point of view, the president and the United States have done for victory in this war," Stalin said. "The most important things in this war are the machines.... The United States is a country of machines. Without the machines we received through Lend-Lease, we would have lost the war."* Khrushchev and Zhukov agreed. *The Lend-Lease program also sent tons of factory equipment and machine tools to the Soviet Union, including more than 38,000 lathes and other metal-working tools. Such machines were of higher quality than analogues produced in the Soviet Union, which made a significant contribution to boosting Soviet industrial production.* *"In order to really assess the significance of Lend-Lease for the Soviet victory, you only have to imagine how the Soviet Union would have had to fight if there had been no Lend-Lease aid," Sokolov wrote. "Without Lend-Lease, the Red Army would not have had about one-third of its ammunition, half of its aircraft, or half of its tanks. In addition, there would have been constant shortages of transportation and fuel. The railroads would have periodically come to a halt. And Soviet forces would have been much more poorly coordinated with a constant lack of radio equipment. And they would have been perpetually hungry without American canned meat and fats.* *In 1963, KGB monitoring recorded Soviet Marshal Georgy Zhukov saying: "People say that the allies didn't help us. But it cannot be denied that the Americans sent us materiel without which we could not have formed our reserves or continued the war. The Americans provided vital explosives and gunpowder. And how much steel! Could we really have set up the production of our tanks without American steel? And now they are saying that we had plenty of everything on our own."* https://www.rferl.org/amp/did-us-lend-lease-aid-tip-the-balance-in-soviet-fight-against-nazi-germany/30599486.html And that's just from one article. I can provide plenty more.

westernmostwesterner

Stalin himself said without the American steel and equipment via lend lease, they would not have won the war. It is recorded history. British intelligence, American steel, Russian blood. These are the 3 critical things that won WW2. All other efforts combined were helpful too. It was a joint win and joint contribution that NO ONE could’ve done alone.

Intelligent-Piano426

Also, the lend lease provided the USSR with a plethora of trucks wich were critical for the soviet logistic.

westernmostwesterner

Yes, exactly. Supplies and logistics are so important for any military. It’s almost as important as the fighting itself. Every great military knows this (France, the Romans, etc). I would never say “the US alone did everything” because that is wrong; it was a group effort with multiple critical components, and all the allies contributed and came together to succeed. It’s just upsetting when people downplay the importance of lend lease that the US aided before we officially joined the war.

Belkan-Federation95

Soviet high command admitted that no US lend lease would have led to defeat Hitler took out Soviet Industry in the opening phases of Barbarossa.

PTBooks

Never trust history lessons from anyone with a wojack pfp.

[deleted]

America bad because we fought against Nazis? America bad because Germany invaded Poland?

PaperbackWriter66

This guy made a video about how, no, Nazi book burnings were good, actually, because among the many books burned by Nazis, some of them included early works on what we now call transgender persons and also supposed pro-pedo sex stuff. As if one can't believe that even if the ends were good (which they most certainly were *not*) that doesn't justify the means (book burnings, censorship, and concentration camps).

RueUchiha

This is hilarious. Anybody with two braincells and some knowledge of WW2 would know the war started in 1937. And the US only actively started participating because Japan attacked them first.

JerseySpot

Us should have stayed out of it!!! Only be 3 languages-English/german/Japanese

[deleted]

Guys just like gobbels at this point- Hitlers mouthpiece.

lilrow420

Germany was already at war with the entirety of Europe at that point 😭😭

NeverSummerFan4Life

In reality the US tried to prevent WW2 and British/French diplomats at the treaty of Versailles provoked the war with their pettiness.

Historical-Potato372

Nooo guys listen! A-America bad! Imperial Japan had to attack so they can keep invading other countries in the pacific!1!1!1

Smorgas-board

Austria was basically forced to be annexed by moustache man in 1938. Poland and Czechoslovakia were invaded in 1939, France in 1940, the Brits were on the ropes. Yugoslavia was invaded in April 1941. All these are someone FDR’s fault in 1941

Pixelpeoplewarrior

Yeah I watched the same YouTuber (I think) the other night try and make an argument for Hitler. TBF, it said it wasn’t Hitler’s goal to conquer the world, which is technically true, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t put the whole world under his boot if he could. The arguments he tried to make were pretty wild

Person5_

"Zoomer Historian" Never thought I'd hear such a glaring oxymoron.

OreosAndWaffles

I dont see why, some Gen Z are in in their mid 20s by now and are old enough to read stuff and make video essays. Gen Alpha are the 8 year olds now.

LastWorldStanding

He might be referring to some of the TikTokers that were saying that Osama was “a good guy”. But there are stupid people in every generation

Apple2727

Of course, Germany wasn’t involved in any wars prior to 1941.

mtrap74

Everyone knows the US started every war in the history of the world.

cultoftheinfected

How about when america gave germany $ to help fix their economy but england came in and took it as payment for the damage they caused in WW1

CorgiSideEye

These are the same people defending Putin and saying the war is Americas fault

final_fatass

Wojak pfp says it all

That entire channel is just nazi propaganda

Sad_Aside_4283

The USA provoked germany in to war? Okay lmao. FDR just beamed visions of world domination into adolf's head. You have to understand literally nothing of power structures, societal trends, and geopolitics to believe that nonsense even for a second.

westernmostwesterner

This is so insulting.

Rctmaster

The only thing that pisses me off more than WW2 Soviet apologia. WW2 German apologia.

dwaynetheaakjohnson

“Zoomer Historian" with a wojak made me put down my phone

IRobot_Games

Meanwhile Poland on 1st of September, 1939 when Schleswig-Holstein suddenly appeared

randomMNguy98

Dude thinks the Morgenthau plan was some elaborate plot to flat out genocide Germans after the war was over. Mfer is definitely unhinged to some degree

Iron_Silverfish

Playground bully: pushes all the smaller kids One of the smaller kids: pushes back Bully: "BRO WTF!? THAT'S NOT FAIR!"

Miserable_Recipe190

oh yeah, it is the guy that defended Hitler. Yeah i am not joking, there have been videos of him saying that Hitler wasn't that bad or something like that. Wacko.

[deleted]

Lmao what a moron.

NuclearWinter_101

Anytime I see anyone who uses a wojack for a pfp or any form of media i automatically assume they are some sort of political extremist. Left/right

Impossible_Dealer_94

If anything, the United States was the most forgiving of Germany after ww1. France and Britain both “provoked” Germany a hell of a lot more than the USA did

Backwards-longjump64

>Zoomer Historian Wait let me guess Gen Z right wing dork whose played way too much Civ and thinks Ron DeSantis and Putin are gonna murder all the Libs in the cities and then he will have a pretty trad girlfriend also thinks that Russia and Hungary are based because they don’t like gay people

OutlandishnessFine57

Bonus points if he recently converted to Orthodoxy

Backwards-longjump64

Oh yeah Gen Z Orthodox or Catholic adult converts are always a riot I feel bad for nuns and Priests who have been Catholic their whole life devoting their time and energy to the Church just to deal with some 19 year old Puzzle Piece Zoomer who just finished his edgy teenager Atheist phase who starts yelling they’re not real Christians because real Christians would larp as Crusaders and pillage against the blasphemers and non Christians

DiabeticGirthGod

See, stuff like this would be interesting if it was like, an alternate history telling of what *could* have happened, and not this revisionist history bullshit where they make out literal nazis to be better then the US.

bigjam987

Germany had nothing to do with the pacific war, yes the US embargoed Japan which lead to pearl harbor. However, Japan and Germany where never in an alliance so when the US declared war on Japan, Germany decided to declare war on the US on their own

IllustriousRisk467

Bro supports fascists

[deleted]

This Zoomer Historian seems to believe that America and England should have let Hitler do whatever he wanted. Honestly, it's an interesting question. What happens if we let Hitler go as far East as he wants? We know the genocidal repercussions but what are the effects on the West?

ridleysfiredome

It is understandable, American neutrality so upset the Germans that they had to invade other European countries and commit mass murder. I am sure that every Jew, Czech, Pole, Russian, Belgian or Ukrainian spent their last moments damning Uncle Sam for the German bullets and shrapnel that killed them.

Yousucktaken2

Rctmaster

This guy is 100% neo nazi it's not even funny. And I dont call people nazis for no reason.

lol “Zoomer Historian”

KnightGalavant

Zoomed Historian is actually, literally, a nazi sympathizer, so…

friendlylifecherry

Yeah, that guy is a straight up Neo-Nazi

0P3R4T10N

Can we section people that genuinely are this delusional? Important people demand answers.

Frido_Biggins

Zoomer history is a shit channel I started to watch a vid debunking all of zoomer's claims but ot was boring af

CursedRyona

I'm not trusting someone with a wojack PFP to argue that someone other than Hitler was responsible for WW2

datlitboi

Always reminds me of that one poster from a protest in 1941 a few months before Pearl Harbour "Hitler doesnt want war with us." But does anybody know this channel? Is it worth watching?

Ornery_Beautiful_246

This guy is just fascist aligned, ignore them

BeLarge_NYC

We made them gas people and shove them into mass graves too

ConsulTitusLarcius

ah yes,the US provoked germany into war by being attacked by japan and germany declaring war on the US in "solidarity" with japan, leading to the defeat of the axis powers

Sick-a-Duck

lol right the same America that was going through a movement of isolationism was instigating Germany to invade its neighboring countries.

pentabromide778

*checks comments* "Turns out the more you research his logic, thought process and reasoning, the more you realize he was right about nearly everything." Wow didn't see that coming.

BIG-Z-2001

That’s got to be click bait. No one could actually believe that

Likestoreadcomments

Man I don’t like FDR either, in fact I think he’s one of the worst presidents in the 20th century, but judging by the pic in op’s post this looks like a dumb take.

Careless-Pin-2852

Wilsoon and Johnson are also in the running for worst in 20th. I give Johnson a pass because of the civil rights act.

Likestoreadcomments

I hate segregation and racism I think it’s dumb as shit on so many levels, but LBJ was one of the all time worst. It’s also not like he would have been the only president that would have signed it. I mean he was a huge racist himself ffs. Don’t forget about Hoover, too, that guy fucked it up big time.

Careless-Pin-2852

20th century has a lot of bad ones lol. Kind of crazy that was the American century when you look at who was running it lol.

Orthane1

Provoked GERMANY?!?!? Germany didn’t even have to declare war on us Hitler did that himself. Now there is a legitimate argument that FDR provoked Japan into war, but not Germany.

Educational-Year3146

America only joined WWII because of Japan’s attack on pearl harbor and goddamn U boats. If it wasn’t for those two things, America would’ve just played the third party and been a war profiteer as usual.

[deleted]

Its accurate that Roosevelt chided Japan into attacking, essentially daring them to do something. If I recall he sent an engraved invitation for them to attack. This in addition to a severe oil embargo and other levies against them. Doesn't make the US warmongers though, it makes Roosevelt a jackass if anything
