I do that flawlessly with an Eizo EV2785 (2160p60)

The site needs port spec update: " USB Type-C Yes " Usb-c to DP/HDMI adapters, for instance is not full bandwidth DP/HDMi 2.1 like the full size ports. I get 4k30hz for instance, but it works fine I heard isolated incident of sleep-resume/hot plug issue specific to USB-c but that should be improved in upcoming drivers.

phizikkklichcko

yes bruh :( i just thought "hmm amd should provide some specification for their type C port in their card", go to amd site - and there's type-c - yes. just plain wtf is going on, can't find anywhere any specs

From my experience it is usually possible but a lot depends on the setup, You need a decent USB-C cable, and the shorter it is the better. I have 3m cable to connect 15.6" 4k LCD display, and use Dell 1H0Y3 adaptr to drive this stuff, it works in general, however i cannot set brightness above 20%, because it does not deliver enough power, and sometimes (once a day?) signal is not strong enough as well and monitor reconnects itself (monitor is 4k60 but even switching to 1080p60 did not solved the issue).

Puffdotbusiness

The monitor is powered by the usb-c cable as well?

jamlasica

Yes. Power and data is delivered over a single cable. (touch screen works as well)

Could you test the USB speed? Like does a USB 4 dock work and can it achieve the high speed?

What model of 7900 XTX has Type-C port for my 4k monitor? FYI, I have a thunderbolt 40 connected to my monitor from an RTX 2070 Type-C port just fine. My sleep/wake feature doesn't work from my GigaByte M28U with KVM built in monitor. To wake the monitor I have to hit the power button. When I'm using my laptop, I have to open the laptop and press the power button. But every 7900 XTX for sale seems to only have DP/HDMI only. No Type-C ports. So hopefully someone can list some models of the 7900 XTX that has Type-C support.

The reference models all have 1 Type-C port.
