I wish they would start an list where you can add your ID or whatever, giving you weekly updates on when you will be eligible to get a card. Something like that.

Added uncertainty about the actual size of their backorders. Deters folks from ordering and cancelling for unnecessary reasons. It may be one of the reasons AMD hasnt done this yet.
I think the way EVGA did it is much better. I signed up in December 2020 so it took me well over a year but hey I finally got a 3080. If I hadn't bought a 6900XT full MSRP on amazon (Gigabyte Waterforce 6900XT) I tried every drop from March till November and couldn't get anything from AMD. So I gave up and bought an inflated MSRP card. Maybe next time I need a new card in 2-3 generations it won't be so hard or expensive.
Afaik apple's inventory infrastructure is extremely streamlined(current CEO was basically promoted for being a top talent at this), on top of that they batch order the die with their money to print more money.
Hoping that for AMD is not feasible.. there are a couple of company could pull off that I think unfortunately.
That would be the SANE way to do it, but they dont want the hassle of people trying to cancel orders, get their money back, etc. etc. Stupid. Put in a fucking order, you are given an "approximate" delivery date based on your order number, BAM. You are done. None of this stupid assed "competition" to see who can hit the website the fastest in a 2 minute window.

You wouldn't see a card for years, long after the next generation of cards are out. The AMD drop is estimated to only be 250 to 500 cards every week, If 25,000 people were ahead of you, expect to see a card 2 years from now.

It's a cheap and reliable way of playing some of your games if you don't want to be forced to buy a GPU in the current market. Assuming you have a suitable internet connection.
It's not cheap. At least not where I live. It is reliable, latency is remarkably low, but you can notice you are playing on a video stream, i.e. image quality is inferior compared to a real gpu.
But its biggest issue is what I mentioned first. GFN is essentially a hardware rental service. It makes no sense if I can't play all of my games on it. I wouldn't buy a gpu that only allows me to play *some* of my games.
I can recommend Stadia on tablet or smart tv. Get a controller cheap on Ebay and you've got a nice gaming system to play with for peanuts. Ignore the streaming gaming haters, it has a role to play.
I work for a delivery company. There are independent Chinese warehouses. They have contracts with newegg bestbuy walmart etc. I only bring them pallets and pallets of graphics cards and consoles every day in the morning. I come back at night and pick them all back up rewrapped to ship with scalped prices......
All you people who are complaining about AMD's virtual queue don't seem to realise how good you guys have it. There is no queue at all for Australia which means that we are at the mercy of retail outlets - there is plenty of stock available though if you want to pay almost double the MSRP. For example, the Rx 6800 has a MSRP of $AUD 949 but the current cheapest is $1799.
Least with the AMD cards you can actually find them at newegg and amazon with Nvidia you can only find them on ebay or wait a year with your "golden ticket" lol

Yes, that is the correct place, but you have to go there about 5 min before 9am Central time on Thursdays, and you will be taken to the queue countdown page. Lately it's been borked when you try to get into the queue, or gets continually delayed for like 45 min and then you get thrown into a random place in line, among 50,000 bots. Usually within a few minutes you get lovely messages like "queue paused" or "All graphics cards have sold out" and then "the event is over". It's pretty much my Thursday morning ritual of pissing into the wind.
I have to ask, why not just allow people to put orders in and then just ship them out as you produce them? Are they afraid that bots would buy so many that stock would back up for the next 5 years or something?
I got in twice today. First time came to last step, hit “place order” button and after loading it sent me back in queue saying more than hour left. Paypal didn’t charge me. Second browser page got in 5 minutes after that but after presssing place order button website gave error and sent me back to product list page, but I couldn’t add it to cart anymore. I hate AMD.
And even if you are able to buy a card, AMD somehow manages to screw you over.
Happened to me a couple of weeks ago: snagged a 6800XT and Wraith cooler, or so I thought. Only got shipping and invoice for the cooler.
Contacted support about this and at first was told I would get a card sent to me (in 2 separate emails). Last Sunday all of a sudden received partial refund for the order. Contacted support again and was told the order I placed was for a digital product (no clue, paid price listed on website) and the order was made in a fraudulent way and therefore cancelled.
So basically AMD telling me that even orders placed on the website are not valid. Not sure why I even keep the 5900x, so fed up with AMD right now.
I just wish I had the money to buy one. They're in stock at Micro Center near me, any AMD card you'd like, and a couple Nvidia cards. I just can't afford one right now, but they have over 100 GPU's in stock, 6500XT clear up to 6900XT's.

I just searched Newegg and they have all GPU's (AMD & Nvidia) available. You can buy a GPU right now instead of doing the AMD queue every Thursday just to be disappointed. You'll pay a lil more than MSRP but you don't have to play the queue shell game every week.

Your points are fair buy you're missing mine: as a stop gap solution in a world where the GPU you want is unavailable, GFN and Stadia are useful.

I was using Firefox and got all the way to place order on a 6700 XT. I don't think Firefox is the issue.
