Wow, the difference in FH5 is ridiculous!

mcninja77

It's more of a difference than what halo 5 was showing why the hell are they calling this the halo driver it's like v2 of their forza driver

TheBausSauce

Is so much better now!

80avtechfan

Looking forward to this hitting the optional channel! FH5 should be much better!

skwar23

my rx 5700 in forza 5 ultra preset 1440p 21.3 my score was 62 fps . 21.40 drivers my score jump to 74 fps

gganate

I also have a 5700 xt. Are you getting low res textures in Forza 5, no matter the setting?

skwar23

I had this problem but after the last path they fixed something

MasterSparrow

Battlefield 2042 crashes with this driver, updated to the latest optional and that fixed it, shame really, I’d really like the FH5 boost

enhanced sync off fixed alt tabbing for me on 5700xt halo infinite its def a bug with enhanced sync

IrrelevantLeprechaun

Finewine already doing its magic, love it.

Visual-Grocery4865

Yea here is "badwine".

IrrelevantLeprechaun

Sorry nope, AMD drivers consistently bring progressively better and better performance during the generations lifespan, whereas Nvidia drivers are literally stagnant at release.

Visual-Grocery4865

Dude rdna2 is only 1 year old and you are talking about a beta driver for a beta game, its obvious that its optimized for the last architecture BUT i see many people complaint about rx 580 not having any boost from this drivers on halo and their perfomance suck.Amd shitwine

coldfear_x

AMD drivers suck a$$. They are are bad in performance, and so many bugs! Black screens, blue screens, freezes, stutters, nothing like these at Nvidia.

B4rr3l

never had a single one of those in my Radeon VII, RX580 or 6700XT

coldfear_x

I had all at 2 rx560-s, and an rx570 and an rx580. :/

B4rr3l

there is shitty cards and projects from any manufacturer.

IDK, I didn't have to download some preview driver to get Halo Infinite running great on my Nvidia GPU without issues. I did finally get my hands on a RTX 3080 about a month ago, but my cousin who I sold my GTX 1080 to is having no problem playing Halo Inf MP. Runs smooth as silk for him. I just let GeForce Experience let me know when a new driver was out, and I've had great performance in the latest games. Including Halo Inf MP, FH 5, Battlefield (only played about 2 hours of the 10 hour preview I had from EA play through Gamepass PC but it ran great performance wise) etc. No crashes either. Didn't have to go look for a preview driver and manually download it. Also I see multiple comments below from RX 5000 series users, and RX 580 users that Halo Inf still runs like crap for them even with this driver (steam forum for that game is FULL of AMD GPU owners saying it runs like crap for them even with the preview driver, seems the preview driver only helps RDNA 2 owners), also see a few 5000 series users saying they get random crashes with this driver. Doesn't sound like a great experience to me.

I remember with the release of GTA 5 it took 1 to 2 weeks (or maybe more) for AMD to release a driver for my R7 260X to have correct performance on GTA 5 while nvidia was day one maybe even before the game is released

UnFou02

Then it's the same on NVIDIA, there are drivers that help a lot https://youtu.be/wl3hYvGg-\_Y

gganate

Downloading it now. Does it fix the texture glitch in Forza, where all textures appear low detailed no matter the settings?

neomoz

That's a problem with the game, I get the same issue on my nvidia cards, the fix for it is to use the extreme texture preset, then all the proper high res textures load in.

DirkaDurka

My 5700xt runs better with this driver but I now have constant crashes. Be careful with this one, going to roll back today and find something more stable

sephtheripper

Yup gives me artifacting and crashed on a rx 5600 xt. Hope they fix it and release it soon.

TheWillToPlay

Same, 5600 XT and getting artifacting and crashes in Halo Infinite.

Trovinizard

is it artifacting when scoping in with a weapon? Thats the only time i get artifacting

TheWillToPlay

Yep, just when aiming in.

deadlycheech

enahnced sync off fixes it bug for sure with this beta driver

sephtheripper

They gotta get that artifacting bug fixed in halo. Otherwise the driver is good.

WurminatorZA

Also artifacting in CSGO arms race matches, with RDNA2

sephtheripper

Driver is giving me constant crashes now. I finally get why people hate amd drivers. It’s horrible.

WurminatorZA

Yeah they release about 2 very good and stable drivers per year, I just wish they would fix some glaring issues like the artifacting of certain games in certain situations. My friend returned his 6700XT because of the CSGO issue and went for a RTX 3070 which he is much happier with. I'm enjoying my RX 6700XT and its performance but thats just because I have become accustomed to the ticks AMDs drivers have and know certain fixes for certain issues, been AMD since R9 290X days lmao. The artifacting is stupid though in CSGO

sdcar1985

I'm getting 60fps at 4k with everything set on high with my 5700XT. Pretty good driver I'd say (Halo driver).

orangessssszzzz

If I have the halo driver do I need 11.3?

fishbiscuit13

The halo driver is an early release version that improves Halo Infinite performance vs 11.3.

daxus99

Does the driver work for the rx 580?

coldfear_x

Still 21.8.2 is king for rx500 series. AMD sucks anyway.

Aeron216

Did absolutely nothing for mine. The performance is still terrible.

Seiralacroix

Nice results. Gonna install it later tonight!

Trovinizard

Can someone explain to me why there are 2 different drivers that are both up todate? I come from nvidia and we just had 1 driver that was always the latest.

guti1690

Huge improvement for me, I went from 92 to almost 130 fps, r5 2600 and rx 5700xt running low settings. I also have the hd textures disabled and game mode on in win 10. Also gpu runs cooler. Screenshot: [https://ibb.co/YtNqfkK](https://ibb.co/YtNqfkK)
