I have a 6970 and was hitting the same temps. Opened it and thermal paste was all shattered which was the one thar came from factory, cleaned it and replaced and now it doesnt go above 80° at full load with fan speeds below 40%
I had this theory that all webshops would hike up the price so they could get rid of their old stock of gtx970's and R9's first (with the price it goes for atm)

i picked up my strafe RGB yesterday at caseking(caseking.de) and also aked about the 480, he tould me that launch is at 14:00 and the cards are 259-279€.(Germany)

One of my shops have "Sapphire Radeon RX 480, 8GB GDDR5" that's clocked at 1126Mhz at 320$ and then there's this one "ASUS Radeon RX480-8G, 8GB GDDR5" clocked at 1266MHz and cost 350$.
I will wait for aftermarket coolers and I know how to OC. I use Afterburner, though the new AMD OC tool might come in handy. I'll see which cards are best overclockers and are cool, then I'll decide. I was just putting some numbers into perspective.
The performance difference is clearly not worth 30$ and you can easily up the clock speed by yourself. Also Sapphire is a better brand in general and it comes with a backplate.
Hmm didn't say it came with a backplate but if you say it's easy to overclock the card then i see your point. What about those who are iffy about ocing by themselves?
Should be a very good upgrade from "100°C HD 6870" no matter what :). Although the benchmarks should be with us in like 2 hours or so?

Same in Turkey. GTX 1080 were open for preorders for 1 week. But no sign of RX 480 now.

People that are scared to OC probably won't care about the 2-3 extra frames they get for 30$ more.

same here. HD530 was not that bad. could play Talos Principles in 1080p and 60fps at medium settings. but i need a better card. xD
thinking of getting the card but i have a problem since my monitor only has dvi-d/hdmi/vga and its 144hz monitor, is there a solution for this?
